I've loved BMTH since the beginning. I use to work at Hot Topic and they'd come on the player and my heart would pound. I went two years without even knowing what the band looked like. When I first saw Oli I was like wow! I pictured a bigger guy lol BMTH old, new whatever I love it all. And if you are a true fan you'll understand why Oli had to do what he did He's voice was shot You can hear it breaking here and he still tried to keep going. This band is special I will always love BMTH
He’s fry screaming here. He stopped screaming due to not wanting to screaming. He can still do it. Just chooses not too. It’s called maturing and developing as an artist. Their newest song, “Mantra,” has a pretty sick scream in it.
@@3101max Nah he wrote a bunch of stuff for There Is A Hell. If you listen to I KIlled The Prom Queen (Jona's other band) you can hear some similarities in the guitar work and string/synth arrangements. For me There Is A Hell is the only album with any good guitar work on it. Before it was mainly chugg stuff and after they focused on the keyboards and synths pushing the guitar to the background. It's no coincidence the guitar work got good when Jona joined and then went to the background after he left
cause i was at their 2 lasts show in london; and Oli now respect all the songs melody he don't cut the lyrics to take his breath... But Drown was insane Oli can't sing it he had to call public help to sing
'We all carry these things inside that no one else can see. They hold us down like anchors. They drown us out at sea. I look up to the sky, there may be nothing there to see. But if I don't believe in him, why would he believe in me?' ♥
Something you should understand is, their first album came out 8 years ago. He was screaming incorrectly, which is why his voice is all raspy as fuck now, it's not even about how hard or complex screaming is, it's really not that difficult of a thing to do once you learn how to do it, I've personally been doing it for 4, going on 5 years nearly.
Johnny Mead FINALLY SOMEONE FUCKING UNDERSTANDS LMFAO. Yeah its the same with Danny Worsnop. Everyone says "oh he screams his voice is fucked up now" I mean drugs and alcohol abuse was probably the biggest weighing factor. They both make the damaged voice thing work though. Really great artist.
Tai Sixx But Danny Wornsop' voice, personally I think it's improved so much, he can still do the old stuff, kind of sounds the same. But Oli struggles to keep up now it seems.
Oh no doubt man. His voice has more character to it. Listen to the acoustic of death of me and a few others. Its definitely a new and improved sound. Everyone thinks that Oli and Danny can't do what they used to. Its completely wrong, they just found a healthier way to scream (well in Oli's case, not too sure about danny). I've been wanting to work with Melissa Cross for a while now to improve my screams. Which is what Oli did. In my opinion From Death to Destiny and Sempiternal are more radio/rock friendly as to both bands earlier albums like Reckless and Relentless and Suicide Season.
Tai Sixx I'm glad that I got to see Danny back in the start of his Career, the energy was amazing, and now, you can really see the maturity in his voice, which is something amazing, they've both really developed extremely well.
fun fact...he does that disturbed noise at the beginning...i saw disturbed like ten years ago at i think it was ozzfest, disturbed did the sit down thing too...totally got that from them.
This video made me feel happy, now I know the bassist (lost his name :O) is using Sandberg but especially he's using a Jazz-bass. And awesome he climbed that high but Airbourne went airborne :P
Holy shit, that's incredibly brave from Jona. I guess all that adrenaline from the show got to him and made him go "let's climb the stage". No safety gear on him either. If he falls he's dead
