as a local maltese who been following bmth since 2008 (when i found out about deathcore ect. . ) this was like surreal still cry watching this back! he looked soo happy to perform here and I think i never seen a performace better than this. I feel blessed that first time i had to see them i get to witness something that fans wanted to see in 10+ years! Was truly a roller coaster of emotion this Festival
@@datshexysanchez man you're one of those huh? good music is good music! bands evolve discover themselves and what not! becoming a sellout is not a thing imo
@@MrKamekaze101"good music is good music"- you seem to forget that taste is subjective and there haven't been lots of bangers after sempiternal, many oldschool fans feel the same way. Like AMO for example was a total miscerriage. Guess you're one of those who don't accept people's opinions :)
This video is the perfect example, you need 2 layer vocals (growl and screech) to make this song perfect. Their studio version had it but when it's live, this song need 2 vocalists
@@crayolaconsumerofcrayons1597 PHSH is goated but it’s mostly linkin park style nu-metal, we’re talking about a modern metalcore BMTH record which would actually break the world in half
@@Zesksaken at least they were using some cool breakdowns and deathcore screams even being layered on top of other vocals it was pretty cool but i agree they should do like at least 1 more hard as fuck metal album
I believe they plan on going pretty heavy for their 4th Post Human EP. I love all the new styles they’ve explored recently but hearing a modernised version of their early stuff would be sick
I always assumed the reason they did less and less screaming was because the singer would blow out his voice on tour constantly. Sounds great here so many years after!
Precicsly, Oli really damaged his vocal chords by doing inproper screaming techniques back in the day. But it's so nice to see that he's recovered and of course now doing the proper technique.
This is a really over stated myth. His technique was fine. The problem is he was touring for years playing 3 times a week while on drugs and alcohol. His conditioning wasn't good enough and so he damaged his voice through the rigors of high level performances. When you have a show it doesn't matter if your voice hurts. You have to scream or send fans home
I've only seen BMTH once, over 11 years ago, during their "There Is A Hell" era. I'm so glad to see them playing this song again, in full, not in some medley of their old songs... Oli's still got it. In fact, he sounds better than he did back then. God, this takes me right back to 2011.
Oh my god you captured the moment I go over the barrier after my first ever crowdsurf to one of my fave songs (girl with long ass plaits at 2:39) 😭 this was unintentional I'm sure but THANK YOU ❤️ (I screen recced it hope that's okay)
@@keanu._.7325 there's a barrier separating the crowd from the stage so being over the barrier means you're directly in front of the stage where the audience isn't allowed (it's incredible)
holy sht i just saw will ramos' cover of this song and i was like. "damn i used to love this song but i've never listened oli singing this live". and i thought oli stopped screaming but then i saw this video and it says 2022. i'm really happy they still play "pray for plagues". i mean i love new bmth too but that album is a masterpiece.
This gives me a weird sadness of not being able to rewind time back to the days of around 2008 at warped tour. It really sucks, but this is great to see they are still playing these older songs.
Despite the fact that Jordan Fish killed in Deathcore Bring Me the Horizon, Oli has a trick up his sleeve and is looking for an excuse to shake the old days at the concert
I‘m almost sure that if they had another guy on stage who can scream (like in this performance) they could play a whole set like this without oli hurting his voice too much.
Oli said that when he got to rehab before the Sempiternal he wanted to learn to sing properly to improve BMTH musically and he did it, but his vocal chords were already bad, that’s why since the AMO era they’ve been more comfortable playing old stuff live, because now he’s screaming properly and sounds way better than before
completely forgot that they did that last year, remember in 2019 oli pissed off before they did the all points east show and saying how much he hated the song but still was going to happen 😂
