It is a LEGENDARY SOLO, a highly inspired moment in the history of music. And one has to understand the complexity of this solo as a piece of music of its own. And this transcription and performance by Mr. Zacoo is fantastic. What a wonderful job!!!! What bugs me really A LOT is to see so many dislikes. It is true that the vast majority of the input is POSITIVE, but why so many dislikes? What's wrong with people? Why can't they simply acknowledge the incredible work done by both Kirkland and his admirer?? Is it a cultural crisis?? Is it because the world is filled with mediocre people?? In any case, the video itself signifies HOPE. The dislikes, on the other hand, signify we still have way too much stupidity and ignorance around.
Ton commentaire est super, je pense pareil. Pour les mauvais commentaires, soit ce sont des idiots, soit ils ne comprennent rien à la bonne musique, soit ce sont des médiocres 😂😉
Ah Kenny, my man. Kenny was a good friend of mine back in high school. Among the many great musician who were playing together at that time, he was always the most natural. He played as he breathed, effortlessly seemingly without a thought. The first time I heard this recording it was introduced on the radio by Elton John who was doing a guest DJ thing on one of the local rock stations. Elton said listen to this solo by the greatest piano player in the world. It was during the afternoon hours so he told all the housewives to dance their vacuum cleaners around the living room while Kenny wailed. This is an amazing solo by any standard and I thank Fabio Zacco for letting me SEE IT along with just hearing it. Kenny was a beautiful soul. Such a gentle, very funny person who never flaunted his prodigious talent. I had lost contact with him by the time I heard of his tragic early end, but I think of him often and miss his wonderful smile and mischievous dancing eyes. Thank you again Fabio for keeping a part of Kenny alive.
Yes, actually, WHAT A WONDERFUL JOB YOU DID ON THAT SOLO !!!..Congratulations from France! I love this solo and you actually sound like Kenny !!! AWESOME !!!🤩😉
This should be study material for every jazz keyboardist. Stuff like 1:09 to 1:13, I could never figure out where the hell he pulled that out of. Like Sting said himself, this solo makes you feel life is worth living. Oh, and your rendition is fucking perfect, by the way
Wow, that is impressive. Can you believe that KK improvised it?! It was a breathtaking solo. Absolutely magical. I’ll never forget the first time I heard it.
i am not a renowned musician but i have musicians ears. when i first heard this solo, my instincts figured this was impromptu and totally improvised by the great KK, God rest his soul. This concert will forever be #1 piano all around the world.
jojojo...guys you dont forget that behind kenny ist omar haking.en bateria.simple the best....... Darryl Jones - bass guitar Branford Marsalis - saxophone, clarinet, rap, percussion Kenny Kirkland - keyboards Omar Hakim - drums, backing vocals, electronic percussion Janice Pendarvis - backing vocals Dolette McDonald - backing vocals like this imposible dont be and equal situacion.a mean..jus masters..
This has just blown my mind into a trillion pieces!! (BTW I saw the Madrid leg of the Bring On The Night tour where Kenny and Branford played with Sting). Cannot believe the fidelity of this transcription.. Am BEYOND impressed with this posting!!
Wow!! Incredibly well done!! I was asked to do something similar soon so I found you. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement. Also, why are so many people here complimenting Kenny instead of you, must be a little mistake.
your feel is perfect well done Fabio! and to make it look easy like that even kenny didn't do it like that but hey let's face it he did a different solo in every country every gig but you mastered it man respect is due to you for that salute
That blew me away. I’m a guitarist but I’d like to have a go at this on the piano. Have you ever tried putting this into a daw and then share. I’d use that to learn it. ♥️
Fantastic (understatement)! Was just wondering if you would ever film it again or filmed the fingering (from above) so we can see how Great you do it and can learn such techniques by watching (from the above the piano pov). I met Kenny "The Doctone" once and he was a one of a kind (and very humble). Always wanted to learn this (or parts of it) to allow what's in my head to be translated into my fingers with this kind of incredible improv jazz! If you'll ever play it (even just for a quick email link or something), would make a HUGE difference in my Musical Journey! Many Thanks and Outstanding job!
When you listen to the song you really don't realize just how long the solo is. Kenny really cut loose. Nice job recreating this classic solo from a iconic song, you're definitely an accomplished player..
Ok, you had me at the first two measures....I'm a subscriber now. My lord, you have amazing chops. I'll give this one a try, but it will take me some time. Thanks man...
Ok. ok. whew....ok. I am trying to wrap my mind around this. It's one of the greatest solos I had ever heard when I heard it new and you are able to PLAY it NOTE for NOTE. OMG! I am still not comprehending this.
bring on the night del 1986 mi ha sempre fatto impazzire ed il solo di piano del buon kirkland è davvero eccellente. tu fai davvero spavento!!! davvero impressionante.BRAVISSIMO. complimenti di gran cuore. mattia
Bravissimo!!! Grandissimo lavoro!!! Un solo che ha lasciato un segno nella storia della musica moderna. Sicuramente hai portato a casa un sacco di scoperte, da esplorare. Bravo
Having seen this tour in five North American locations, my thanks for reliving it this, a sixth time. For your next performance? Why, "Dienda", please? Bellissimo Omaggio
