I have seen/heard about this method and really wanted to try it for myself! I will show you how to rehydrate your orchid and re-pot step by step. I wanted to film this video for a while so I reduced the watering of my orchids a few months ago for the purpose of the video, hence them being so dehydrated. Now they are being pampered 😆🌱💚
I will also be showing you some of the other orchids I have in my current collection.
Making this video really made me feel like making some iced tea for myself so I’ve been addicted to it all week ☕️😆

Yours are looking like they are on the road to recovery. But be VERY careful not to let water sit in the crown, especially if you rinse the top of the phal under running water. I admit that I got sooooo nervous watching that part of the video, because crown rot can happen super fast. I’ve lost a few orchids this way.

hi Hannah I'm gonna try this method too, this lady uses oregano tea for all her plants and orchids she waters them oregano tea every fifteen days and all her plants are gorgeous as your plants are, I have 7 Orchids so I'm gonna try both tips yours and hers to see how they react and to compared them. but yea she's been watering only with oregano tea I thought I'll let you know incase you want to try it out. keep us update to see How your orchids are doing with the tea. thank you

Love your video and I’m going to follow your advice with two I have that haven’t been taken care of by a family member. I would encourage you to be conscientious of how much water you’re allowing to get in the center of their growth stems. That can lead to rot as well. They grow upside down on trees in nature so the base of the stem is always able to dry out

Actually in nature they grow tilted not upside down usually on their side .

Also ur orchids roots need airing so i think it's better to place them in see through pot with multi holes to help with ventilation then place it in a pot or whatever. Well that's what I've learnt from those guys. As orchids don't like to sit in water ; in nature they cling to trees and only get access to water from their air roots or rain drops trolling down tree trunks

Lucky Gracie the rare plants go on sale on a certain day at certain time and usually sell out within and hour. Last sale was last Friday at 8pm. Before the launch it will say out of stock… And then at launch will come into stock until it’s sold 🌿 Hope that makes sense

I’m trying this now with two of my orchids! They are rehydrating but not seeing new root growth. I found that only the inner leaves (not the outer leaves) are hydrating. Does that make sense?

imacocoageek // Joseph yes the newer leaves will hydrate more than the older ones. My new leaves are coming through really nice now. Can take some time for roots to grow

Maureen Hauser if they are limp/wrinkly it sounds like they need properly rehydrating so I’d recommend soaking them like I show in the video

Deborah Hogan I think the leaves on a prayer plant would turn yellow if you soaked it like this... your prayer plant may require higher humidity and less bright light. Check out my prayer plant care tips video 💚🌿

Black tea does help with root growth. It has nitrogen (I believe that's what helps) and a lower PH of 5.5 which orchids like. Depending on what kind of water you're using the PH could be to high. Especially for a orchid in need of recovery.

I noticed at the end u had misted ur orchid; I've followed few orchid enthusiast for a while and all suggest not to do misting as the water droplets will cause rotting to occur at the base of the orchid as water drops collect at the base. I used to mist my orchids but since watching those guys with hundreds of orchids I decided to stop a while back .

Reza Amini ah ok thanks that’s interesting! I only mist them in the summer with the orchid spritz as they dry really quickly. I’ve had one of my orchids about 5 years with no problem. I wouldn’t recommend misting them any other time of year though 🌸🌱

When I watched this video, I realized I had a sad little orchid that would be perfect to try this on. This is day two and the roots are looking nice and green but the tea itself is starting to look pretty gross. I will report back.

Well, it did not work for my orchid. The second week, I noticed that the tea was leaving a film on the roots. After three weeks, I stopped the experiment because there was no improvement in my orchid.
