NAILED IT? nailed what? an epitaph? I had a capri when i was a kid, and this yellow suv aint it or a relative. looks more like a polestar than anything else. You should have asked Daggenham to design it instead of a French committee. makes me a bit sad really

Abysmal. Half the muppets you interviewed can’t even pronounce Capri correctly, let alone design it right. The Capri didn’t need to return in the electric era, try take inspiration from the original and actually design something different and iconic. You haven’t captured the essence of the original at all, you’ve spat it out and trode on it. A “sports car for the family”, it has nothing sporty about it!

Whats next you going to bring back the RS200 as new another SUV or go bigger and make it a van?? if you going to keep killing off the names that made you great why not hit hard and bring back the name Escort and make that into the biggest electric SUV no one wanted

Since when have SUV and Capris ever been used in the same context?... I actually find the design irritating as they were barking up the right tree with some of the design choices but the nature of SUV design makes this thing redundant!. The fact they stopped Mondeo production for this is ridiculous. I'm literally in their target market as someone with a young family who wants a sporty motor. What I don't need is an oversized SUV that is more of a hinderance to drive on the tight roads by me than my current hatchback and even if I did want one, every other manufacturer has their own army of these bulbous heaps

I was saddened when I saw it... As someone who works with Fords, I'm not happy about it. I would have talked to the designer to think about it better. .I don't see it as a fantasy that it will have a big market! but good luck in the future! I can't applaud the designer..
The problem is the stupid ideas the ones in the designer team, marketing and corporates has, thinking of using a legendary nameplate will bring more customers...the customers of the Capri era won't buy this p.o.s..if it has nothing resembling the one they grew up watching or owned..maybe use a new nameplate..also since it is an ev vehicle it will not be considered a car...just call it Ford anything with a letter or number..that is why the chinese and VW wins..cause they bring a entirely new product..means new nameplates, new model new everything
This has got absolutely nothing to do with the Capri. "Bring back". "Next generation". No. This is a random four door SUV with the name Capri. Much like Chinese manufacturers buying famous brand names and bringing inferior products with said name, this car is all but a true Capri.

Ford you had one job, use the old shape and replace things with modern materials and tech. Give me half of your budget for this and even I could provide a better car that would pass all the tests needed to be on the road. How are you so stupid to completely avoid the capri shape and drive style?

I like the drawing concepts, but just hated the final product. Looks nothing like what I imagine a new Capri should look like. It has none of it's DNA or characteristics. One of the big selling points of the Capri is it's long nose accentuating it's stance. This new one has a short nose and a SUV stance. Who is Ford trying to kid? We, ex-Ford engineers know the original Capri and it's DNA and it's target customers. Did the current crop of designers even try to find out from some of us? If they did, they failed miserably to transfer that knowledge learned.

I think the classic light weight RWD with over 100KW is a great idea even if it's an EV..... The styling is pretty good with the visual aspects from the original model apparent. Bring on the new Capri I hope they can keep it affordable. My first car was a small Ford coupe. 😎🇦🇺👍
To be honest the Capri wasn't all that, beyond the looks. But at least it had the looks. This thing is just cynical marketing of a lacklustre offering.

Who decided this is a capri? Looks nothing remotely like a capri, stubby bonnet length, at least make it look sporty, looks like every other run of the mill rubbish
I hope no one buys it. I’m not a negative person but maybe a colossal marketing failure will make Ford actually listen to the customers. The car is probably fine, but your marketing folks are idiots and/or yes men for this. No one who loves Ford or has memories of Ford wants the name Capri associated to that.
Shame on you Ford! I was a life long Ford fan. My first car was an Escort Mk1. It was followed by my favourite- a Mk2 Escort. I've had an XR2, two Focus STs, and my wife has had 2 Galaxys, an SMax, and currently we have a Kuga. But your designers have NO CLUE HOW TO DESIGN A MODERN CAPRI. You lot are a disgrace to the name FORD. You've killed the Fiesta. The Mondeo. No Fast Ford RS models for years. You axed the brilliant SMax. What on EARTH are you doing to the Ford Brand?? The Legend .. is not back - it has been strangled and mutilated! I will never buy a Ford again. My children both have Fiestas. When they ask me what to buy next, I am recommending companies who understand heritage or who build cars people actually want. They won't be Fords.

No no no , they've gone and totally messed it up . Electric I can handle that but it should be the classic Capri shape and not this thing with just the name slapped on . Hopefully you get no sales and then listen to what the customers have been wanting for a new capri launch. What a bunch of Twonks !
Holly moly this is awful. Sheesh. They used a sporty name again for an SUV, like with the Mustang Mach-E. SUVs should pay twice the taxes just for being hideous, humongous and yet useless. This company is going from bad to worse . I used to be a huge ford fan. Now I see incapable people running out of ideas. I see a dramatic decrease in sales in the next 10 years. Be ware Ford. Wrong people wrong choices.
