Bringing Border Collie Puppy Home 

B W So glad you enjoyed it.

I used to sing to my BC pups when I gave them their baths in my tub. They didn't care how I sang. I also gave them sweet kisses and talked to them. They grew up loving baths and my Aussie/BC Gem would wait in the hall bathtub for me to give her a bath. She also herded me to the kitchen if my parents told her to get me. Most of my BCs were bl/w-Tess, JackBNimble, and Bo Peep, but my Gypsy Rose Lee was red/white with a right blue eye and left brown eye. I miss all my BCs and Gem too.

I had the radio on and he didn't respond to music but he kept looking at me when I started singing. I think he sensed that it was something nurturing. :)

The puppy stage is so fun. I think of my dogs as "perma-puppies". ;)

Same cause I have a one year old dachshund going on two year old, right now and when she was a puppy omg she was so fun and loving!

This puppy was just meant to be a part of my family.

Skene really was such a cute little puppy. He was so tiny for his age and was the runt of the litter. He grew into a average/big boy but still the same cute puppy deep down. :)

I was looking at some of Skene's puppy pic's the last couple of days and he really was such a cute puppy. He's still such a sweet dog, and those early videos really show his spirit.

That was fun bringing little Skene home. He's not so little anymore but still all puppy!

I absolutely love border collies, but they definitely need to be kept busy not just physically but mentally, or they will find things to do that can be destructive. Each one of mine has been different. I've had 2 epileptic border collies - that can sometimes be an issue in this breed so it's worth researching the breeder if you go that route. Some of the working dogs can be more edgy and sensitive, temperament-wise, so again it's worth researching and asking basic questions; like has either parent had a bite history. If you like training, or canine freestyle, or dog agility or canine disc - they can be awesome for these types of dog sports! My border collies also worked doing goose control and sending geese away from the local parks. This was border collie heaven! Good luck and would love to know what breed you end up choosing.

Does he/she have blue eyes? Or blue merle coat? My first dog was a blue merle blue eyed dog and I did think of naming him Blue as well. Cute name.

I was looking precisely for a long list of dog names so I could go through them and pick out a few that I like. I've already shortlisted a couple, like Blaze, and Blaze reminds me of speed, so it gave me a few other ideas like Dash and Bolt. Thanks again!

OMG. I am now saying that this was a year ago and the dog in your other videos is the puppy full-grown oh my goodness so this is not a new puppy this is a puppy that’s a year old or more

Puppies need lots of sleep so make sure your pup get lots of rest, it's easy to overdo things. And have fun!
