This documentary tells the story of the pioneers who brought the NHL back to Minnesota after the North Stars left, and the 20 years of history that has since followed. Presented by Xcel Energy
Hello from Russia, Minnesota fans! Glad to join history of this great team. As you can imagine, I became a fan, when Kaprizov joined the club, hope it will be a long successfull story.
@@swerve951 agree, it seems that in some moments it's better to shoot instead of pass, but he chooses pass. I think he needs some time to feel confidence and to find his role in the team
Kap has already shown amazing prowess and confidence...I think if he stays healthy he will be a top echelon player for years to come. Welcome to Saint Paul young man!!!!
From a die-hard Bruins fan... I always had great respect for the Minnesota Wild and the impact they've had on the NHL. A respectable organization, (not to mention the greatest and most creative logo ever) the Wild should skate with the Stanley Cup very soon.
You the man, much respect! Hockey is huge here, hopefully the Wild can find a way to cement themselves in NHL history! Love the Bruins, a truly great franchise, I hope the best for both clubs!
I’d bet in maybe 5 years maximum we’ll have a cup because we actually have competent executives and coaches for the first time in like the entire history of the wild lol
Wow...as a fan of hockey and growing up in Saint Paul...I’m not embarrassed to say that this documentary made me tear up on numerous occasions...I am so proud of this team!
I still have my towel from that Wild - Dallas game. I’m only 31 so I didn’t know the North Stars but that game meant everything to my father. Great memories!
Why am I crying through half of this .. lol goddamn that’s a good movie y’all made. I was at every home playoff game in the conference final run , magical place! Beating Dallas 6 rip will always bring a tear to my eye what a night .. bring us a cup wild 😜💪
@@dogsnhockeyminnesota8584 I don't know if KFAN goes back that far. I was in the 7th grade at the time, so it would have been my father tuning the radio. Might have been AM-1500 or AM-830, but it was definitely Bob Kurtz and Tom Reid.
Wow!!! So many memories. All of those people were the absolute best. An amazing organization. What an honor it was to have worked and lived the dream with them all!!!!!
My brother just recently passed from a very sudden and extremely fast case of Lou Garrick syndrome. As I watched this and the first image of the civic center brought back my childhood memories of my brother during state high school hockey tournaments. He became a legend and he never touched the ice. He made a costume wore face paint and he ran up, down and around that whole arena working the crowd. From our small town of Hibbing Mn the legend of the sheik rose and showed up year after year. He created such a stir and soon every hockey and football team had fans wearing face paint and a person in costume working the crowd….
My wonderful father took me to the 3rd ever game and since then we have been going to multiple games every year since. 22 year of memories in that building where I basically grew up. I love this team so much.
Me too.. My family had season tickets to the Northstars for their 1st 19 seasons. I was going to Northstars games after I was born in 81 till my family moved out of state in in 86. Still have many fond memories of Broten, Dino, & Bellows at the beautiful Met Center. Never been to a Wild game, tried liking the Wild, but the name & that man-bear-pig logo....just couldn't do it. At the last Northstars game at the Met there were some fans that had a sign that said something like "they may become the Lone Stars but they'll always be OUR STARS". That's the case with me.
@@danbratten3103 I’m sure almost every Minnesotan felt and thought the same- memories of the North Stars and our franchise ripped from our hands in 93. Even The Met getting demolished-which is now the Mall of America. I remember going to Minnesota moose games at the old Civic Center, downtown St. Paul and Minnesota Gopher games in Minneapolis because we had no NHL franchise. Personally I think the logo is awesome, maybe not the “man bear pig” but the trees, lakes and wildlife that are native to the land. The Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Excel Energy Center are crazy, especially those inaugural years shown in this video. This current team Billy G has built over the past couple years and getting those 4 key, character guys at this years deadline has made this team a contender. I can’t wait to be in a full barn at the X. It’s going to be the loudest that place has ever been. I suggest you should go to a game here in St. Paul to experience downtown and the Excel, the people, the food. I’m sure it will bring back memories of you and your family, like it did for me. Inside the building at the X is something to see in person too. CHEERS from a Minnesota hockey nut🍻
Great documentary. I was a huge Minnesota North Stars fan before they left now I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I think this could be a very big rivalry once things get back to normal and these 2 teams are back in the same division. It hasn't heated up yet but I think it will soon. Minnesota looks very good this year and Dallas has looked very good the past few years and took a step back this year. I'm looking forward to these 2 playing again.
hello fellow wild fans. big wild family from Saskatchewan my uncle coached josh harding. its not just Minnesota that loves you guys keep up the good work.
This has me pumped up! Been watching the wild since the Gaborik and Burns era. This team has never had a better GM than Billy G!!! After 18 years of being a diehard mn wild fan (I'm 24 now) I can confidently say that this team has never been better!! I think a Stanley Cup will be coming in the next 5 years! I appreciate the North Stars history but it's time for the Wild to really cement the state of hockey slogan in a Cup win!! Go Wild
From a fellow wild fan (obviously) I strongly believe Billy G is gonna be the man at the helm when we win the cup someday. I too give it 5 years maximum. Billy G brought us from last in the division in 2019 to nearly a cup contender now. It’s only a matter of time
Love how they paint the parise sutter trade. It ABSOLUTELY KILLED US!!!!!!! We have been working out from under that for the last 3 years!!!!! In the grand scheme of things the amount we paid to both players crippled the team and wasnt worth the return!
Is life long bruins fan since 1970.. I fell in love with the Minnesota North Stars in the 1991 season... Having no team in Minnesota is a travesty.. Without Minnesota hockey we would have no miracle on ice... It would be like Massachusetts on Michigan not having teams.. It's the balance of the hockey world Without Minnesota hockey there is no balance in the hockey world
Stars wouldn't have won the Cup in 99 if Tom Hicks hadn't bought the Stars and spent a bunch of money on Hull, Zubov, Belfour, Sydor, & keeping Modano.
I will always support this organization but I will never forgive them for just watching Saint Paul and Minneapolis areas youth hockey clubs dissolve to 2-3 from 12-15.
@Satanogoat Rex ahh that’s exactly what I was talking about pal. Saint Paul and Minneapolis youth hockey clubs were not part of a rich, which is why they failed.
I’m a wild fan. But calling Minnesota the state of hockey when the professional team has never won a championship. Is like calling the Florida the state of football. Hahaha just messing with you Minnesota. From you neighbors to the east. On Wisconsin.
Minnesota is "The State of Hockey " ! Extensive History of High School Hockey Tournaments, Awesome College Hockey Teams AND Professional Hockey Teams' Greatness! PLUS the US Hockey Hall of Fame !! 🇺🇸🏒🥅❤
