In German you could use "Schone" which means "beautiful one" (the "o" has an umlaut over it in German). And when addressing the bike you could say "meine Schone" which means "my beautiful one". Or you could use "meine Schatz" which means "my dear one".
A Chinese knockoff of a Harley-Davidson, has the spirit of a Pink Rabbit that beats his drum and advertise a brand of batteries. Chinese knockoffs are more reliable.
Congrats. Beautiful bike. So unique. Not on every corner like Harley. The engine and looks of this bike outstanding. It’s a real eye catcher. Very exclusive motorcycle!!!
The last 2 times we have been at that dealer the r18b they have sold already is the one you pickup within the next couple of weeks. Congrats on the new bike can't wait to see you future adventures with it.
My husband is German Freya pronounced fry Jah. She's a German goddess of live, fertility and marriage. In the myths she rode a golden carriage pulled by cats!
Congrats here are some woman german warrior names Adele - Means "noble kind" Ella - Means "fairy maiden" Emilia - Means "brave" Emma - Means "universal" or "whole" Frieda - Means "lady" Hanna - Means "grace" Ida - Means "industrious" Lea - Means "weary or tired" (Find more girl names that start with L) Lina - Means "tender" Lotta - Means "free woman" or "warrior." BMW is very smart. You'll sell a lot of bikes for them with your enthusiasm and subscriber numbers. With all the love you gave to that Road Glide, Harley missed an opportunity not including you more prominently in their CVO roll out. Loving the close up content of this video too. I'm a snowbird also, wintering in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. No more snow for me. Life and health insurance is a must. Ride safe 😋👍🏾
What a wonderful surprise! I was a big fan of your black R18B. And back when you first got that one you asked for naming suggestions, I offered “Brunhilda”. A loud, fierce warrior queen in Germanic mythology. But now with that more elegant looking one I’m not so sure. Once again l’m looking forward to seeing it, and reading about your experiences with it. Congrat’s! Edit: I just noticed someone suggested Freyja. I’d give that a big thumbs up myself.
I looked up this on Google, how's this Who is the goddess of beauty in Germany? Freya. Freya is a unique German and Norse girls' name meaning “noble lady.” It's derived from the Old Norse frauja, and in Norse mythology, Freya is the goddess of love and fertility, often associated with beauty, wealth, and war. She is also referred to as the “Lady of the Vanir.”Jul 9, 2023 The BMW is absolutely beautiful 🚔🇺🇲
It does LOOK GREAT... It is "a design style". Nice bike... Congrats. I have a BMW R1150RT, 2004, 48K miles. Going on a 2000 mile 2 week trip, camping in 5 or 6 states. I love my BMW. Every time I think of getting a new bike, I realize I have the best bike for me. I would love electronic cruise. This has adaptive cruise? Wow.... My cars have cruise (common almost all cars made in last 10-15 yrs), but my cars are not adaptive.
Jess, what a beautiful, beautiful bike. Happy for you. Please listen to your own wisdom and get medical insurance. After 30 years of riding motorcycles, I finally got hit by a car in Southern California. If it wasn’t for my GoPro camera the lying Cager would’ve got away with it. I was awarded a six-figure award, and I’m back to riding again. Please make sure that you have large amounts of coverage for uninsured, and under insured motorist, that could possibly hit you. Again, love the videos, love that beautiful bike. Keep the rubber side up, and be safe in all that you do.
Cool paint scheme! Happy for you that you've got your own BMW R18 Bagger now! Ride safe and have lot of safe miles and make the 1st service. As for life insurance it's a good thing to have for the ones you would be left behind if you're gone. It's a great piece of mind to have it sorted if anything was bound to happen.
I'm surprised you did this, I would have thought you would be better off getting a smaller dual sport to really improve your off roading skills. I think there's better content and destinations to be honest, and the off-road market is booming! I just don't see how having a big touring Harley and this large bagger are really going to improve your content or expand your audience. I know you have the Himalayan, but your skills on it are seriously lacking ( no offense meant) . Learning to ride a small dirt bike or dual sport would be so helpful in getting the most out of your Himy... Jmho.... Your new bike is gorgeous though, and I wish you the best with it!
Wow what a beauty that Option 719! R18 tc owner here and turns out we have so much in common. My first bike back in 1999 was a '98 Triumph Thunderbird Sport...then a few others....then last year was my first Harley, a brand new '21 Ultra and I love love love that bike might never let it go, then two months ago for some strange reason unknown to the universe, still loving the FLHTK, I was drawn to 'dem R18's so I went all in again and got the R18 tc. Something special about those R18's, a crazy mix of refinement bolted to a couple of ludicrous 900cc jugs--don't know how else to describe it haha! Now the name.....mine is Mathilda, yep German as it gets. Meaning is "strength in battle" so fitting given BMW's long history in motorcycle racing. Enjoy that beaute of yours and keep pumpin out the great content yo!
Hi Jess, maybe besides several health insurance packages and a life insurance, might it not be wise to look for a disability insurance in case of a severe (but not deadly) accident and you cannot continue anymore what you're currently doing and thus lose all your income? Very beautiful bike by the way!!! I can imagine you're very exited and happy to ride it.
Beautiful bike! I just picked up the same color in my R18B! She is amazing and I love the metal-flake in the paint. I too had the cluch "clunk" but It went away after about 300 miles. Congrats on the purchase!
Congrats, Pretty Bike. As the saying goes, "If you can park and walk across the parking lot without looking back at your new car/bike, Then you bought the wrong one." All of my vehicles are years old, but I have to look back every time.
Congratulations Jess, I bought my 21 Goad glide special with zero miles and that was the first vehicle I have ever owned that was brand new, what a great feeling. I am excited to hopefully see you and Jordan tour the country together.
So glad you panned around and gave us those close-ups, the attention to detail and quality on that bike is just immaculate 👌 An RnineT is more my speed if going the heritage route, but ya man…congrats! Those miles will disappear in no time riding that 😁
Oh wow, Jess! Very cool.. That is the bike I liked the most of all the bikes you have ridden on your channel. Something about that big flat motor really appealed to me. I actually went and started to look up prices. You really scored with your special edition. Congratulations, you've got a keeper!
Yes, that is my favorite large bike. If I was going to get an 1800 cc bike I would get that one. However I have a 1300 cc cruiser and that is big enough for me.
I'm on my second BMW. 1st was an S1000XR and now I ride a K1600B. Awesome bikes all around and the dealer by me are amazing and have amazing customer service. Have fun out there, keep it on two wheels!
Jess that's awesome to see you back with another boxer twin! It is truly lovely in that color scheme. There's a 2022 leftover at my local dealership in that purple/pearl shade that keeps calling my name.. I just don't look anything like Prince so that kind of holds me back. 😕 Here's to many more miles to you and your new ride!
Hello. Congrats to you for the choice of that bike. I`m from germany and drove some BMW.....R50/2 and R90S...like the boxer engine. Name for that Lady: "Big Berta"..Berta is a typical older german name for older Ladys ;-)...have nice rides and have fun. Regards from germany.
Sigyn (goddess of victory) Freyja (the most powerful and beautiful goddess -- Goddess of love and war), Brunhild (Valkyrie) (the goddess of light and darkness was Hel -- not what I would name a motorcycle).
LAGERTHA is what you should name the R18. LAGERTHA, the beautiful, fierce shield maiden from the brilliant Netflix series, VIKINGS. Great video by the way. I love the R18 too. I currently have 2002 V-Strom DL1000, my first big bike and I love it. However, I am on the hunt for my next bike but unsure if to stick with adventure or switch to cruiser?? Wishing you miles of smiles from the UK Keep her rubber down and shiny side up 🤟🏍😎
Hey Jess, Congrats on your new ride! My suggestions are Yvonne (Strength, Resilience, Determination) or Brunhilde (Armored Battle - Maid). Prayers Flying for safe travels
nice bike. buddy got one of the first R18s. had buyer's remorse for a while but now loves it. i think they look great. the set up with the boxer is hard for someone like me at 6'3" and 13 shoes. i was wearing boots and had too little room for long time comfort. a little too much effort to change gears due to the lack of space. but for my buddy that is shorter with smaller feet, no issues.
She's beautiful!! Congratulations on a beautiful bagger! Also, you should name her Bavaria is the name given to a monumental, bronze sand-cast 19th-century statue in Munich, southern Germany. It is a female personification of the Bavarian homeland, and by extension its strength and glory. The statue is part of an ensemble which also includes a hall of fame (Ruhmeshalle) and a stairway.
Wow!!! That bike is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Can’t wait to see where you get to go on this one!!! How about Freyja?? The Norse goddess of love, fertility, battle!!!!! Ride safe Jess!!!!
Absolutely brilliant, an epic choice! The color choice - perfect! Question: I'm a tall rider (6'2"), so I don't have any over the bar visibility issues on the R18. Do you have any forward obstructed view problems? Your helmet GoPro looks like you're just peaking over the dash. Mathilda would be a great name for the bike. It's a Germanic name that means "Mighty In Battle"👍 Keep doing what you do 😁👍‼️
Hello, WOW and congratulations!!! Such a beautiful motorcycle! Freyja is what you should name her! (Yes Google it but I know you'll love it) Also, welcome to the world of capitalism as you are now a self employed business owner! Some suggestions; have you looked into the SBA? (Small Business Administration) or your state and local Chambers of Commerce for your insurance needs? Also great resources for small businesses. Another possible place is the AMA (American Motorcycle Association). And perhaps BMW Owners Group. You can get great discounts by becoming a member of certain affiliated groups. And don't feel bad about getting sponsors. This can work to enhance your channel. You can do product reviews and benefit your viewers with how to videos. From fixes to fashion you can cover such a wide range of topics! Think about your upcoming road trip; biker friendly places to stay and eat. Plotting fuel stops and what to pack on your bike. Sooooooo much stuff you can cover. Honest assessments on clothing, gear and accessories (they send you crap - tell it like it is). I wish you and your husband the best and all the success with your channel! God bless!
Congratulations on the new bike! I have never seen an R18 with those colors. It is beautiful. I also picked up a new Beemer myself last month. I got the R1250 GS Ralley. I noticed that from first to second was a pretty good clunk on the quick shifter, but now that I am past break in, it has gotten much smoother. Enjoy your ride and it is great to have another fellow female rider on a BMW! I don't have a good idea for your bike's name, but my guy is named Wolfgang. I call him Wolfy for short 🙂
I have an Option 719 K1600GT, and the paint on those bikes just can’t be appreciated in pics or video. Congrats! I went Wagnerian opera with my BMW names, so my old K1200S is Brunnhilde, and the K16 is Siegfried.
That was a surprise. I really like it. I live maybe 2 miles from a BMW dealership and I've seen R1800's but not the 50 year anniversary. I own a BMW RT model and love it but definitely will have to try the R1800. Enjoy!
Congrats might be a little jealous, your channel has changed a LOT since the beginning, Sponsors I understand. But now your selling life insurance. No offense think i am moving on. Maybe check back in a year or two. Stay safe.
That is a BAD ASS bike. It's like the perfect blend of old school style with modern tech. I love the analog gauges with that huge screen right below, and the paint scheme is amazing. Great choice to add to the fleet
Call it Lorelei! Lorelei, siren of Germanic mythology, of great beauty. "Die Lorelei". It describes the eponymous female as a sort of siren who, sitting on the cliff above the Rhine and combing her golden hair, unwittingly distracted shipmen with her beauty and song, causing them to crash on the rocks.
Hey Jess, here are a couple of suggestions for a name for your R18. Fernweh - being homesick for a place you’ve never been to Rame - something that is both chaotic and joyful at the same time I have a BMW S1000XR and I call her Fern, although she’s more like Rame, my wanderlust took over and Fern it is.
My wife also suggested Brudr - Old Norse (Power) file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/e1/01/D9310B11-E9FB-4931-8549-773244732CA8/image0000001.png
I have many trouble free miles on older BMWs , and they were rock solid. The newer ones seem to be hit and miss and the final drive issues some have had is a show stopper for me. BMW has been making bikes for 100yrs and the final drives should be 100% bullet proof by now. They are beautiful bikes though
Both cylinders get equal airflow. Unlike a V-Twin where the front cylinder is like a fat kid at a birthday party when cake & ice cream is served. The rear cylinder just doesn't get equal air flow.
Hey Jess glad to see you are making some good choises there we never want to think about these things when we are young but it a smart thing to do good for you thanks for sharing this and ya,ll ride safe
That was not what I was expecting!! I thought you would get to keep the one you had been riding, but this gal is puuuuuuurty!! As for a name, I would have to Google also so hopefully you get some good recommendations!
LORELEI One such legend of the Rhine talks about the Lorelei, a beautiful nymph called Lore who used to sit atop a high rock (Lei) and sing in an enchanted voice.
I’m not usually a fan of these kinda bikes , but dam that is a beautiful thing. What a great bike love that you got a BMW instead of a Harley or Indian . Just gorgeous looking. What a paint job . I’ve always loved the old BMW bikes from the 60’s . Those Baxter engines are jus5 cool . 😊you either love ‘em or hate em. Lol . Cruise control and it knows when to slow down for you . Very awesome especially when you get tired . Enjoy that gorgeous bike girly . Great taste you have . Yea I’m not a fan of the heel toe either . Break ins are so not the most fun but when you get to really give it the beans it’s like a new bike . 1800 cc must be like a couch on wheels . Don’t stop the ads till you can afford it .I will still watch . You will get someone to sponsor you. Hopefully BMW will do that for you .
I have a name, SEFIRA. Sefira is a girl's name of Greek origin. It's perfect for those with a bright and breezy nature, as it means "west wind." While they may seem worlds apart, Sefira is actually a variation of the Greek name Zephyr which has the same meaning. 👍
Congrats. Some of these BMWs are beautiful and they have been pricing them aggressively. Personally I wouldn’t get one with a fairing unless it was one of BMWs sport tourers.
I vote for Lorelei! The name is of German origin meaning "alluring temptress". Or Leni. Origin:German, diminutive of Lena; Spanish, diminutive of Elena. Which reminds me of vampire diaries Elena whom I think is perfectly balanced light and darkness 😂🤷🏻♀️
Freya is is the Queen of of the Valkyrie, the female warriors of Odin. Associated also with love, lust and celebrations. Drives a chariot pulled by a team of cats. Perfect. Thanks.
Name the bike "Freya". Freya is a unique German and Norse girls’ name meaning “noble lady.” It’s derived from the Old Norse frauja, and in Norse mythology, Freya is the goddess of love and fertility, often associated with beauty, wealth, and war. She is also referred to as the “Lady of the Vanir.”
Really love the R18B. Taller rider so the inability to stretch out my legs in a traditional way was the only thing that steered me elsewhere. Get a ton for your money with that bike.
Congrats on the new bike! When I first saw the paint job I thought of a storm trooper, specifically TK 421, from A New Hope. Control center: "TK 421 Why aren't you at your post?" TK421: "Cause I'm out riding!"
Freya, the goddess of blessings, love, and fertility, has a shared Norse and Germanic origin. Just saying… 😊 You are going to LOVE Barber!!! I got lost in the museum for a whole day and still didn’t see everything.
I was going to post the same name. Freya is the goddess of blessings, love and fertility but when needed she would fight with the walkures. A perfect name for the bike you're already in love with
Congratulations, new motorcycle day is always a great day. Its a beautiful bike, my only issue with them is the front fairing always seems slightly off to me. Its how I always felt about the victory touring bikes, Otherwise I love the bike and definitely hope to have one in my stable at some point.
Brünhilde, not so much that the bike is a warrior by itself, but you are... we see your struggles and your fighting spirit and you deserve all good, and what better then to have a warrior queen by your side...
Hey Jess, she’s a beautiful bike. It’s probably the only bmw I didn’t test ride before buying my 1200rt. I’m heading to my first time at Barbar meet up. Hope to see you and your bike there.
In 2000, I sold motorcycles at a Japanese Big 4 dealership. One of my co-workers was basically a nothing-but-BMW rider. He taught me a bunch about old Beemers. They do look good fo sho. Enjoy the new moto-sikkie!
I thought you had a road glide? Why BMW? Goldwing? I looked at BMW and went with the Wing. Not saying anything bad about BMW . Service $$$ that is why I went with Wing. Can you tell me why you chose this one?
