The lady in this video seems so gentle. I want to be her foster dog lol. I currently have a foster dog who is shy and fearful. She is stress-chewing everything and urinating indoors out fear. I'm used to wild Tasmanian devil fosters. I'm lost here. I just emailed the shelter to see if CBD oil would help her. Thankfully, being around my dog seems relaxing to her. He's bringing her all his favorite toys and watching her shred them one by one 😭 it's like he knows it will calm her and he's offering up his toys as a sacrifice
I went to pick up a Belgian Malinois called Maxi in clothing smelling like the other two dogs in the house she was going to be my "foster" dog, anyway I foster failed at the shelter and adopted her after meeting her. She had a bite history from 5:35 forced interactions and was immediately returned to the shelter, the next people who adopted her did not remove a bone and she and the resident dog got into a fight, she was returned in three days. All she needed was a person who could work with her, address her issues, who understood high drive dogs and most importantly would not give up on her at the first sign of trouble, I would be that person. I think we're going on six weeks.
@@kittyisme5297 It's been a year and she's an amazing dog, so far she's incredibly intelligent, loves to work and learn, when I took her home at 14 months old, she was unsocialized, highly reactive and completely untrained. Now after a year, lots of work and diligence, she's a different dog. I'm also training my Maxine for her French Ring Brevet hopefully in 2025 fall.
@@cherylmillard2067 Any tips on how to bring home a foster who is extremely scared? I am seeing a dog on the E list that is terrified. She pees and poos when they try and walk her, skin crawls when they try and pet her. I want to pull her for foster since shes unadoptable..but I'm scared at the same time.
@@kittyisme5297 Get her in a flat collar and a harness, keep her leashed in the house. Don't force yourself on her, no eye contact, let her curiosity peek. The first week let her get really hungry before you feed her. Remove all hiding places. No running free in the yard. Trust yourself. Where are you located?
@@cherylmillard2067 I'm in phoenix,az. I' had to contact a New Hope group to see if they can pull her for me since The Humane society wont let me take her. They said as long as I promise to actually foster her then they will save her. So, I don't know when but soon..I wish to pick her up. Thank you for the advice. I
