Pleased and privileged to be a little part of this wonderful story, still not too sure about the John O Groats to Lands end trip yet. Although, Mrs P thinks it’s a great way to get rid of me for a week. Well done mate 👍🏼🙂
Let me Apologize! The important thing is tractors back where it started from. Funky has a piece of the farm’s history & a little of his Dad. How it got tied to the trailer doesn’t matter. Think you call it taking a p 😀.
That’s great, I’m currently restoring my father’s old 35x, he sadly passed away last month. He bought it from the next door farm in 1975 and the MF dealer was only about 3 miles away so that’s probably the furthest it’s been since 1963! I’ve just taxed it for the first time since 1974. Some people just don’t understand the emotional attachment to a tractor!
Good for you funky farmer for doing the work to find some history that you’ve lost I am very proud of you. And thanks to farmer P. For helping out an old friend in need.
It was great to to have the documents with your fathers name on the Log Book, and now to find out the other name from new was the farm next door was ACE, it really has come home, and to be unloaded at it's first home, and drive back to its second home, absolutely perfect.
Really pleased for you Richard, happy you've got the 35 back on the farm and thanks to the guy who had looked after it for the 20yrs and being so kind to let you have it back. Enjoy having it back on the farm!
What a heart warming film/story. Well done Dave for looking after her for the past 20 years. Well done Radio Gloster, well done Funky for daring to dream and last but not least Farmer P for doing what good mates do. What I'd give to get my old Cortina back though she 99% went to the breakers yard after I sold her and is now a part of something useful and will live on.
My brother knows someone who turned a field of hay with a Blanch-Lely six wheel rake and grey Fergie when he was just twelve (instead of thirteen).😀. I remember when the safety frames first came in for tractors in 1974, only the owner of the tractor could drive it without a frame/roll bar. They altered that bit in the late nineties with a new safety reg so now apart from certain exemptions (weight, shows etc) you need one. I always thought the first exemption was crazy because before the roll bars came in nearly fifty people a year were getting killed, as to how many were injured is anyone’s guess. If you remember the old weather cabs and how hard some of them were to get in and out of quickly you will know what I’m talking about. Anyway im sure the young lad will enjoy not driving it when it gets the frame back on.😊
My son, said. Buy the Loader so you can teach your sons to learn to work the loader, with a smaller version of your bigger one. Go back and see the guy again.
With all the difficulties the farmers are facing and the backlog of work due to what seems never-ending rain, what a brilliant story and journey you have allowed us to follow. She will give you years of enjoyment and make new memories for you all... congratulations fella 👏 👍
Great job Richard it’s a awesome feeling isn’t it, all the emotions hit you at once So pleased for you I’ve enjoyed following this journey and story with you Thankyou sir 👍🏻
Your smile is that of a man with two little Fergie' tractors, a grey one and a red one. Life is good😊. Surprisingly not a lot to do and I think it's better that it looks not over-restored. What does Veronica think about it, have you told her yet? I believe she can get very excitable. Great find Richard and a word of thanks to anyone who got involved in any way.
Isnt it funny how the old tractors mean so much! Bet you wouldn’t get so emotional with your McCormick! The old 35 and 135s def mean so much to alot of people! Looks fab Richard health to enjoy it mate!
The Massy has returned to Tytherington, where memories were made in the past 🎉 And new memories will be made with you, Richard, and the family 🎉 especially Harry and Jack, the next generation of farmers.
Great to see it back on the farm. It would be lovely to see this famous red fergie at tractor world Malvern next year, and i am sure it would raise lots of money for charity too.
The Funky fergie !! you can't beat the classic tractors we have a 2cyl 70s kubota the head gasket just went on it but it won't take long to repair unlike modern stuff lol
Woo hoo...❤😅😂😂 briliant Richard, well done. And well done to Ian for the driving and trailering👍🛻🚜😊 the 35 really is a loveable tractor, i learned to drive ours when i was 12.. i'm now 57😂😂 Again in relation to the safety frame, blasted and powder coated..😊❤ it'll last well into Harrys career..🤭🤗 he's so going to enjoy learning to drive it..😊
Please refit the rollbar as a priority. PTO guard looks like a 135 one. Starting handle hole would have been for petrol engined models only. Tacho not working is probably the cable, to test it, undo it at the back of the engine and turn the inner cable, tacho needle will probably flicker. Oil leak could be rear main seal or more likely the cork seals on the sump. Try taking the bottom flat plate off ( 4 bolts ) you should be able to see if there is much oil is in the bellhousing. Should be dry, but they rarely are. Check the split pin is free to turn and not stuck with dust from the clutch. Dont overdo the paint, I would personally leave the engine alone, just do the gearbox casing where its the wrong shade of grey.
Well happy rich keeping us all in suspense love it keep up the videos .when is harry getting his ford you better start clearing out the shed you will need the room mate.😁😁
The oil leak you mentioned is probably the rear main seal. The hole under the clutch housing is drain that leakage, with the cotter pin dangling to keep it from getting plugged up.
Hi funny how you mentioned about 135 replacing 35 and your story . I know where grandad's 35 is and dad would love to have it back and me but the current owner doesn't want to sell it because it reminds him of his former girlfriend dads sister! But the 35 was originally part exchanged for a new 135 and the 135 came and soon ran into problems then went back and forth to the dealership until grandad had enough and kept the 35 then sold it many years later. So love seeing you story lucky you 👍
She's home they are a lovely little tractor you should get a set of dual wheels for the back those tractors are so light you would be amazed the ground they travel on.
This made my day, and made me pipe my eye when you came up the drive. Life should be made by moments like these. What a lovely moment for the family as well ❤️
Awesome 👌 I can see it happening with all the work all piling up because it to wet 1.richard on mccormick fertiliser 2 Jack on chain harrows 3.Harry on on roller All in same field cracking on 😅 4 Sam on camera
Richard - a truly wonderful story and thank you for sharing your journey with the Massey, it was an emotional event and I’m sure the memories will stay with you forever ever. There can be few tractors with such a provenance as this one. Modern tractors will never replicate these historical legacies.
I for one can totally understand the emotions involved as I have been there myself. I think this 2-part video is some of the best you have done! The volume on your Tarzan yell about blew out my speakers though. Cheers : )
Brilliant its back home. Now have some fun with it and go on some road runs and meet some more like minded tractor guys. I will join you on the first 50 miles of your Lands End to John o Groats trip. 😊
That video chocked me up the gearbox is Massey made on all 35s that oil leak is the rear main seal like I said in the previous video and the PTO guard you have is for the 135 the 35s & t20s never had them
Loved this video ❤ actually had me tear up when you drove it home ❤ When you do the John O’Groats to Lands End we’ll be there to cheer to you on. We’re in Cornwall ❤
Must be so emotional for you Richard all those memories connecting you with your dear Dad Totally get it 👍🏻 How us blokes get emotional over a Tractor or any other Diesel Petrol vehicle that pollutes killing everything living only we know 😂😂
Good one Richard, so happy you have your tractor back a nice bit of history. And a bit of history for Reg, Big thanks to Farmer P for all his help a wonderful Frend!
Hope Your Father Takes it For a Spin like your grey Ferguson, fair Play to You for Using National Radio to Find your Uncles Medals and Your Red Ferguson . Your Family and Land are Very important to You. Money Can’t Buy That Devotion.
What a grrrrreat story it’s wonderful to see some videos with a good feel to them, your always lighthearted & upbeat even when your picking up someone else’s rubbish from your field. You proper proper deserve you tractor back in the farmyard. You’ll know you’ve made it when fans are chanting about 828 is coming home next World Cup 👍
Richard, well done and Congratulations, i am so pleased for you. A really genuine lovely story, you got me chocked up when you drove into the farm. Thanks for sharing. I'm in final stages of restoring a grey fergie 1950 TED20. I'm older than the tractor. Ferguson's 3 point hitch, a brilliant invention that is still with us. Good luck and lets hope the weather improves for all farmers.
Great story and video and now I know a little bit of history about the "people's tractor" built by MF in Coventry. What really stands out is good mates and you all supporting each other. Nice to see in a world where men seem to have real difficulty in this area 👍
It was lovely to listen to this video. And the journey of bringing the Massey home. Please keep it as original as possible, and even you should have got the load. Imagine as a show it would look fantastic. I might have a manual in my garage when I restored friends one printed out the complete manual for it. I’ll have a look if I’ve got it still
Heart warming story Mr Cornock ! The 35 looks right at home in the farmyard. Don't think I would be putting that ugly roll bar on such a pretty tractor, but each to his own. In years of driving a 35x as a kid, I never came close to tipping it over! Enjoy Richard, and enjoy titivating it....I seem to remember the exhaust used to be white, but I could be wrong.
When I was about six or seven back in 1972 or 1973 my dad was a pig farm manager/herdsman and I remember being sat on my dad's knee driving a red Massey 35 with a front loader with a muck bucket on it and on the right-hand side it had a leaver that when you pulled it the bucket flipped forwards and then back to empty the manure bucket. The bucket had five prongs facing forwards. I bet you are well-stoked to have a grey and red Massey Fergusson 35. Nice one mate.Matt.
A brilliant story, well done - many of us relate to this. I'm sure funky farmer junior Harry loved not driving it too. The memories for Richard and not just of the tractor are immense.
Ya big softie Rich, and why not. We used to have a Dexta with the same issue with the lights and the loader from the previous owner. I don't like the position on top,it looks wrong to me but you have no choice when you have a loader. You were very lucky to have found this tractor, well done Rich 🚜
When you get round to writing your autobiography the story of Harrys Happy Tractor (HHT) will get a least a chapter all of it's own. It's already made some great videos for all your followers and I'm sure will feature now it's back in it's ancestral home. Obviously already made some money at Ians' day. The smiling faces of Reg, Ian your boys and you are a treat to see. Very Happy for all of you.
Dead happy for you Richard bet it’s like having a long lost relative reunited with you after all these years . I think this is fantastic. I hope you and your boys enjoy it just as much as your father did all those years ago. Thankyou for your videos keep up the good work 😊.
Fantastic to see it back. There was a grey Fergie on the farm when I bought it in 2004 but the previous owner of the farm wanted to take the tractor with him. It was bought new in the late fifties and has now put thoughts in my mind as to whether it can also be found. Great story for you and memories must be flooding back. Well done.
I am still looking for my BOBCAT LOADER I first brought over 45 years ago a (643) Air cooled. I now how you must feel. I will be in the same boat of emotions, myself. if I ever get to see it or one like it.
Well done Richard and Ian, Very Exciting stuff 😊. Lovely to see the 35 yesterday and talk to You. I mentioned to you about replacing that rubber seal at the base of the top link, it’s a bit like the ones on the gear levers. Stops water, dirt etc getting inside the tractor. Very important. All the best, Phil
🤩Thanks Richard for sharing your Happy Video of reuniting Fergie 35 with New House Farm, some would say it's silly to get emotional over a tractor but it's not as it represents so many memoir's with your Dad and yourself and that's important for all of us with possessions of happy days, I hope you will have time to do the jobs Fergie requires with your already busy schedule but one thing to be said it will be a labour of love.👍🧐
