Lived here,in one of the cottages opposite the shop. Could no longer manage the stairs so moved in with my son and daughter- in -law to the other side of the playing fields. So peaceful after living all my life as a townie.
Used to drink in the Raven and have memories of the garage with old fashioned petrol pumps outside although I'm not sure if they were in use - (before it became an antique shop).
Great video Andy ive walked here many a time from coventry. Ive walked the Coventry way a few times which is 40 mile circular walk around Coventry the route of which was marked on a post by the gate you found evidence of the old canal. Latest news on Brinklow is i came across a collapsed section of the canal which has basic had a land slide behind the castle major problems for the canal trust asthe canal was not passable. Was it due to development on the farmland you mentioned I will enquire next week when i walk to the bush craft show in Stamford hall. Thanks for all the info.
