😂hi mate thank you for your video. I read your reply for your setup information and I normally use 3000 reel and a long distance casting ML rod. I never caught bream from soft plastics even though I tried a lot. Can I ask what tide you fishing? And if you fish flat area like bank or beach how often do tou do twitches with soft minnow? thank you

Hi Mate, no problem. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the feedback too. I’m glad to hear you want to chase some bream with lures. It’s definitely NOT easy at first to catch bream on soft plastics. It takes time, practice and persistence. The bream are very picky so you need good fluorocarbon leader 6lb- 10lb. You need to make sure your lures are threaded straight with the correct weighted jig heads for the current. Then you need a good scent like S Factor. I fish generally the hour leading up to high tide and the hour leading up to low tide for best results. You have think about your spot and think where the pressure points are. Where bream will be waiting for food to wash off rocks or get caught in an eddy etc. You have to work your plastic or hard body lure very slowly and take note of every little bump on your lure. Keep you drag loose and tighten it once they strike and start ripping like off. Lastly work it across currents and along rock walls etc. Twitch every now and then. With Bream focus on getting your numbers up with any size bream and then once you can consistently get them then go for size. It’s NOT easy mate but just keep practicing and you will get them.

Hey mate I’m trying to buy a new setup Just wondering what’s your setup here. What rod reel braid and leader you have thanks

Hi Mate, no problems at the the details of this exact setup are as follows: Rod: Diawa 20 TD Black DEEPSTRIKER 703MLFS 3-6kg Reel: Diawa Legalis LT 4000 D-C Braid: Nomad Design Panderra X8 15lb Blue Leader: Diawa J-Thread 10lb FC Leader Jig Head: 1/6 2/0 TT Jig Head Light gauge Lure: Zman 3inch MinnowZ in Motor Oil Colour This setup is a little heavy for bream fishing specifically, I'm using it just in case I hook a mangrove jack, Jewfish or a big cod. I would recommend a 2500 or 3000 size reel with a good quality 2-4kg rod and 10lb braid. The Brisbane river has some BIG fish in it so I've got this heavier setup just in case I hook a solid fish. Good luck and please ask me any questions.

@@nigiessquidgies Thank you! I have pick my reel which is shimano vanford 2500 and will be putting 10lb braid my problem is I'm stuck on which of the Zodias Rod should I buy Medium light or Medium. Both 7FT Zodias Spinning Rod 7ft Medium Light is rated 4-8lb while the medium is rated 5-10lb. Would the two rod have the same sensitivity? what rod do you recommend between the two ? I'm chasing what ever that bites. Bream ,flathead ,occasional trevs and random Jacks every now and then. Fishing Once Every weekend. thanks

@@rozeljoy1651 A Shimano Vanford 2500 would be perfect for the estuaries. I have a few friends with them and they are an excellent reel. That’s a great choice of rod too. I spoke to one of my friends who works at a fishing store who said the Medium Light zodias will be awesome with a 2500 Vanford. It will be a very versatile setup and sensitive to fish hits on lures which improves your hook up rate a lot as you can sense what’s happening with the lure. That would be a very good all around setup for the estuaries. Make sure you look at the recommended lure casting weights for the rod too as that’s important depending on what lures you fish with. It would only be a bit difficult if you hook a big Jack but they make any rod and reel seem small as they go crazy!! Haha. Cheers and good luck with getting a new setup. There are some nice Diawa setups around as well. I’d have a look at some nice Diawa setups too and compare your options. Good luck mate!! Cheers 🎣 💯

hey mate, where about is this
@nigiessquidgies

Hey mate, this is on the North side, I don’t want to give the exact spot away. However, there are bream everywhere at the moment. Anywhere downstream from the CBD you will catch them easily. 💯 Good luck. 🎣

😂 the old where U at question!! My advise is follow the young blokes direction downstream and spend as much time as U can on the water and you will find locations that are better than others. Look for structure. And never ask a fisherman where his spot is 😂

@nigiessquidgies
@nigiessquidgies 8 месяцев назад
@@richbio0905 Hey Mate, I recommend Holt Productions Swim Prawns 3in, Zman Slim Swims 3inch in motor oil colour. 3 in Zman Minnowz in motor oil colour. Most Zman plastics will work well. Pretty much any small hard bodies will work too with a light coat of S Factor scent.
