Bristol Lodekka ride through Bristol suburbs 

Loved the Bristol lodekka buses preferred the door at the back version but iconic where I was brought up. Actually used to get one back from secondary school in 1981 just before they were phased out.

As a school kid, i used to ride these great buses regularly - they had not long been in service to 'upgate' the older 'K' series, and after school, i used them regularly to and from various work places. Long afterwards, i followed in my dads and brothers footsteps and became a bus driver myself - unfortunately i missed the Lodekka era as it was VR's and suchlike i was stuck with, as well as Darts, Lances and virtually everything else bus and coach wise ! My final unfullfilled wish is to drive a Lodekka, before i depart this worldly bus station, but i guess it'll never happen sadly. i passed my PCV test at Bath, so being an ex Bristolian as well as ex bus driver, i have a very big soft spot for Bristol Lodekkas. Thanks for this video - next best thing to being there in person. Sound, sight and even the smell of these buses remains vivid.

John....... just watched you clip from the A4 at Bath to the A38 via Brislington and Bishopsworth ,I am an ex-BusDriver based at the old Winterstoke Road Depot back in 1974 to 1979 and use to drive the 6 and 99 route.brougth back loads of menories of days long gone bye.thank you for the video.
