The black man was talking about 3 kidnapped girls for 15 to 10 years in that house. It was shocking for America. Michele Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina De Jesus
@@VictoriaShaw-mp6qf Ariel Castro. Sentenced to life + 1,000 years. The coward off'ed himself in prison. I believe there is a special place in hell for him.
It means both actually, in the US. Depends on the context. I've heard it both ways (I live in TN). Obviously, in normal everyday conversation, semen doesn't usually come up, so the sassy/vigor/full of life meaning is much more common.
It's like the word bear, means a giant flesh eating mammel in one context, and in another it means to carry or "bear" a heavy load...... Also a big load means something different depending on the context as well 😏
For background, the black man at the beginning was in the right place at the right time. 3 teenage girls were kidnapped and locked in that house for 10 years. One of them managed to get out and he was the first person she spotted. So, he made the call to 911 and helped get the other girls out. It was a horrifying situation, but his telling of the story was hilarious. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but he ensured his side story was broadcast on every possible news outlet in the country that day.
@@ashleygannon703 I’m sitting at the animal ER with a sick cat, just waiting… And I needed that!! Trying not to laugh… How did I not see this when it came out??
@occheermommy I'm sure (or at least hope) most of us know that. I've been to California several times and nobody I met or overheard sounded like that. I was just making fun of the stereotype. I live in New Jersey and only a small percentage of people speak with the stereotypical Jersey accent😉
@@RealDiehl99 fair. I just have heard people that think all people from California talk like that or back in the 80’s it was the valley girl thing. Im sure most of you are too young to remember that one. Look it up sometime. It is very funny
I’m in the news industry and this is kind of right actually. There’s some view baiting tactics obviously, especially on less serious pieces. But also just getting people to agree to do interviews can be tough, especially on camera ones. Generally people with more personality are more likely to say yes.
It means both, depending on context. Normally semen doesn't come up in conversation as much as sassy/vigor, so it isn't as common. But it is definitely used the other way as well in the US.
The black guy saying "hold up, wait a minute, something ain't right" is a comedian. That was a fake interview. He does skits like that all the time, always saying that same line. I follow his channel. He's hilarious 😂
That was not a fake interview! I’m from Cleveland, Ohio, where it happened. He is the one who helped Amanda Berry when she escaped after being kidnapped and held for more than 10 years. Yes, he was funny, but it really happened. An amazing day, as those who lived in Cleveland had been seeing missing posters for her and Gina DeJesus for years.
@@katitarmann you are responding to the wrong video. The one you are talking about is real. The one we are talking about is the man that says, “ Hold on wait a minute, something ain’t right!” He has about 10 videos like that
@@katitarmann I do know about the man you're referring to, and the situation where he helped rescue those young women, but he is not the one I was referring to in my comment.
The best one I saw was in December, 1980. My ship, the USS Eisenhower just returned home after 9 months off the coast of Iran during the hostage crisis. I was stuck onboard, having the duty that day (just my luck ... I was so desperate to go ashore that I volunteered to haul garbage to the end of the pier). A little boy, maybe 5 years old, was running down the pier to get to his dad who was maybe 150 feet away. A local reporter squatted, stopped the little boy, and tried to get an interview while the kid is trying to run to dad. The kid hauled back and punched the reporter right in the nose then started running to dad. You could hear laughter up and down the passageways since televisions all over the ship were tuned to the channel.
when i came back from deployment in '03 on uss o'kane i tried to grab a news mic on the pier to fart in it but the guy saw me at the last second and wouldn't let me.
Yes and held them for 10 yrs as his sex slaves. One of them even got pregnant & had his baby while she was held captive there! That was such a tragic story all the way around. EVERY PART OF IT! GOD BLESS ALL THE GIRLS & HER DAUGHTER! And may he rot in hell for all of eternity!
You think if you take your dog for a walk in the middle of a river, then you don’t have to talk to anyone … but then the damn news guy wades over to you…
Yeah, I'm thinking that dude was in my hometown of Houston during Hurricane Harvey when we got 52 inches of rain in 72 hours. Thats more than our average annual rainfall in one long weekend. It was a biblical storm that was. One of the scariest times of my life worrying if the water was coming into my house.
These are such classics. Love them. 5:44 lives in my head. So many of them do. I still say "F**k it, We'll do it live!", "Ain't nobody got time for that", and "Hide yo kids, hide yo wife." People are too funny. Our government is trash but I love my people
@@MAGGOT_VOMIT My grandkids absolutely love "seagulls, stop it now." First time I showed it to them, they had it on repeat for an hour laughing. When my daughter came to pick them up, my 5 yr old granddaughter showed her a page she had colored. My daughter said, "that's nice." Granddaughter tells her, "Didn't like it?" then whispers, "Don't fall asleep... don't fall asleep." I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.
Spunk has been slang for semen for years in America. Apparently it’s not universally known, but it was widespread. I’ve seen other comments that they heard it as slang in the Midwest, California, and I’m in the south. It was used when I went to high school in the 90s. It’s strange to me that so many people had never heard that usage in the US.
I almost did a spit take when he asked if that was Eminem… but I totally lost it when he thought the news outed an 86 yr old for being full of ••that•• kind of spunk 🤣
@@jikook7457 I'm 52 years of living and I have. Normal everyday conversation doesn't usually involve semen, so the vigor/sassy meaning is much more common. But I've heard it used both ways in the US (I'm from TN).
@stanleymyrick4068 I'm confused: why create new meanings for existing words or new names for other existing words? Maybe people feel cool saying dumb things? Like saying rizz instead of charisma. Smh
What was funny to me was when the Dad was on zoom, the little boy came in first, the way the baby came bursting through the door in the walker was hilarious 😂
Spunk means courage and forthrightness. I love that little girl strutting into her dad's office. 🤣😅🤣 Lewis, thank you for these. The world is insane - I needed a good laugh.
Another couple meanings can be she got some fierce sharp wit, she got some attitude (usually in a well accepted way) I think all the various meanings have a common theme with energy or determination intensity depending
When I first met my husband, he still lived in London (I’m in US). He got the biggest laugh out of our Otis Spunkmyer muffins. And, of course, fanny packs. 😅
The "so pitted" dude is actually a UCLA professor he was just messing with the news guy while out surfing. There is an interview vid on here where he introduced himself and told the whole story.😂
Years ago there were cigarette ads on TV. The news anchor or had an item about the animal control truck overturning in a tobacco field ( no animals hurt) and he dogs took over an hour to round up. Without pause the anchor transitioned into a commercial, starting out with " Have your cigarettes even tasting funny lately? " Spunky in the US means feisty
No matter how many times I see that clip of the BBC gentleman on the Zoom call when his kids come in, I still lmao!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 The little girl with her body moves and the mom sliding in as if she’s stealing third absolutely cracks me up!!
Spunk in American language means they're full of energy, full of spirit, courage, backbone or they say what's on their mind. Not many Americans use the term spunk to describe semen. Love the videos, love the personality you put into the videos. I think it would be interesting to see videos of Americans in the U.K., England & specifically London. Have a great day & May The Force Be With You
You don’t know what a hot pocket is yet? It’s like little burrito shaped pie filled with meats and cheeses. Also brand like Pop Tarts. Just throw them in the microwave for a minute. Jim Gaffaghen has him in his comedy skits all the time “Hot Pockets” 😂
The second little boy (with the microphone) is from my area. That's a clip from our local news. He had a period of time after this aired where he was trending online. They call him "Apparently Kid"
2:31 she had been held captive for more than a decade along with two or three other girls imprisoned in a man's basement in the middle of a residential neighborhood
Over here it actually means both, depending on context. I've heard it used both ways. But since semen is not normally used in everyday conversation, the vigor/sassy is more commonly used.
IS THAT M&M LMFAO! the beat boxing dude stole the show lol I was laughing for 10 minutes straight. That was one of the best covid work at home moments fer sure! lol
The RU-vid Channel schmoyho songified numerous funny tv interviews & some of them are quite catchy- the bed intruder song, double rainbow, & of course that Charles Ramsey interview. Great stuff.
best i saw was in '05 i think. it was a call to one of these cable news channels claiming to be a fire chief during a southern california wild fire. he had them going for over a minute when he said the fire was caused by a blast from howard stern's @$$hole. it was live so there was no bleep
I saw a clip from my local news channel. The bang bang boom hail lady. Oh my goodness! (Spunk in America, has a few meanings. One the same as yours, but they were referring to energy, and full of life in that video) Love the reaction!!
2:40 - Charles was talking about rescuing 3 local girls/women in the Cleveland OH area. Their names are Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight (she has since changed her name). Amanda Berry works for Fox8 News Cleveland doing daily segments on people who are missing. I'm from NE Ohio & remember when they went missing... starting back in 2003, and eventually rescued in 2013. Ariel Castro kept them imprisoned in his home for 10 years. He hung himself after being convicted & sentenced.
I live in the suburbs of Cleveland, and yes, I remember that day so well, it was a horrific time for those 3 girls. I actually met Michelle Knight at a fund raising event a few years after she and the other two girls had been rescued. Michelle was the first one he kidnapped and she was the one that suffered the MOST abuse. He raped her, beat her, impregnated her many times and then would kick her in the stomach so that she would miscarry. Amanda Berry is the one that had a child by him. I have read both Michelle's book and Amanda Barry's book about their ordeal and it was truly horrific. I cried while reading them and then watching the movie that was made about it I don't know HOW those girls managed to survive that long. I have SO much respect for them.
@@patticrichton1135- I have read their books too, and knew of the horrific details about their imprisonment with Ariel Castro; I kept it brief to let him know what happened & so I wouldn't cry (like I am now) as I typed. My only hope is that Amanda, Gina, and Michelle can somehow recover from this & have a beautiful fulfilling life now. 🙏
The best way I can describe the American meaning of spunk is cheeky confidence, like the little boy who described the amusement ride that you said should be a presenter. We might say, "Now that little guy has real spunk to say all that on live television!"
@@VictoriaShaw-mp6qf Did you see him the next day on Good Morning America when George Stephanopolis interviewed him and he mentioned he grew up near there and that guy started talking smack about his high school? It was even funnier than this one.
I have no idea what the surfer dude said!! I know he was talking about surfing but dang 😅😂 The man smelling and "tasting" the intruder oh my mercy...😆🤣
SPUNK: People with spunk are courageous or determined. If you've got spunk, you'll cheerfully finish a difficult hike even after falling and skinning your knees.
The funniest interview ever, is the lady at the motel who kept saying "ain't nobody got time for that." Think it was a late 2012 interview. Can never find the whole thing, but there's some awesome remix's of it.
The man doing the news at home with his kids coming in the room and I would guess, his wife, comes running in to grab them! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA The little one in the walker was the funnest though! LOL It was probably during the lockdown....lol
