I was an IS decades ago. I can't say much but, what I can say is. America always knows where all enemy subs are. I mean always. They monitor ours as well. No other country is as good at tracking subs or keeping their subs hidden. Add to that the Russian sub that just visited Cuba. Reportedly had pieces falling off as it set sail for home. Then there's China. America has been using subs as far back as the Revolution. The first ever submersible was called the turtle. All that to say. America invented sub warfare and, have had more than 200 years to perfect it. As an American. Enemy subs should be of little concern to the public.

Article 5 is the, "Attack on one is an attack on all!", section and doesn't automatically get triggered in this scenario because Ukraine is not yet a member of NATO & the Americans died in Ukraine. If they attack the Baltic states or a base in Germany, that would trigger Article 5 and Russia would have just declared war on all of Europe, Canada & the US.

33:04 So this whole video is a work of fiction, but I feel compelled to mention that if the US was in a war that threatened our ability to remain armed, the defence production act would likely be invoked. This would require US manufacturers to convert production facilities to manufacture items needed for the war. There are always specific plans in place within the military to aid in this conversion. This is one reason why the US government has done things like bail out the automotive industry and provide funding for microchip manufacturers to build more semiconductor facilities in the US.

I hate to turn a video political but this? It's exactly why people need to vote for President Biden. The two major legislation acts are genius. Plus, he's the one who wanted to send weapons to Ukraine in 2014 when he was the VP. Obama turned his request down. (Because he was so incompetent with international affairs.) President Biden? Two major things: 1. The "Chips Act"? Moves chip production to US soil, creating jobs here in the tech industry. Fortifies our defense industry. Plus it has that nice salty coating of "Eff your Chinese chips" to it. 2. The "Infrastructure Program"? Oh yeah, we're making US jobs out of taking care of our own infrastructure and making it more reliant on renewable energy sources. So we're making US jobs via climate policies. We're making construction jobs out of the "climate crisis". That's a nice little, "Up yours, Russia, and the Middle East!" If those don't convince you, I don't know what will. Yes, he's 81. Big deal. It was used to make all those products to protect from COVID in 2020 and it was used in 2021 to help my state of California make more fire hoses to combat wildfires. It's been used for things beyond just military production to help US citizens. In the midst of a war, yes, it would still be effective. Yeah this entire scenario is pretty absurd. War between nuclear powers is done in secret and through proxies. It's M.A.D. in action. No one really wants to risk nuclear war, so this is how things have settled. Also, congress hasn't declared war on anyone (including non-nuclear powers) in over 80 years. It ain't happenin'. Especially not with 15 US soldiers being (seemingly accidentally) killed in a foreign country where we know this kind of thing can happen. Not trying to get into conspiracy theory (I'd say this is probably _not_ the case), but there's a somewhat decent chance that we're already deployed in Ukraine. Either way, we ain't formally declaring war on Russia unless it's something extraordinarily egregious.

Desert Storm had 3 phases: Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Sword. Shield was the build up of coalition forces in Saudi Arabia. Landing planes, building bases, deploying tanks and personelle. It lasted months. The US and allies flew regular missions along the border to let their radar see their flight patterns regularly. It was plenty of Time for Iraq to see what mes sof destruction was going to be visited upon them if they didn't pull out but the deadline. Again it was months of this. Desert Storm was the 6 week air campaign to destroy Iraq's command and control structure, air defense systems, any build up of tanks. It also include missile launches from Naval vessel, and stealth strikes from F117s. There are great videos going into the scale and complexity of the organized strikes. Desert Sword was the ground invasion to push any Iraqies soldiers out if Kuwait and "mop up" any potential for a counter attack into Kuwait. It took far less than a week. Desert Shield actually took so long the US could take the time to invent prototype and test the first bunker buster missiles made from the barrel of a howitzer. They made 4 in the original batch, the first 2 went to testing the next two tried to find Saddam in one of his bunkers. I ce Saddam learned the US had missiles to destroy his numerous air raid bunker deep underground he gave up.

Cute but wrong lol I was in the navy 4 years. I'll just leave it at: Russians wouldn't last weeks. Further, it would not take a decade to replenish, during a war, if needed. Our factories have, and can switch to war goods, if something like that broke out. Even still, wouldn't need it against Russia. Maybe Russia and China together. Try looking up what we did to wagner group in syria. That was one skirmish. Didn't last long. And we lost nothing but ammo. Most other countries always forget how fast we can pull together, if threatened by a common enemy. We squabble, but see what happens when we're attacked.
@luistigerfox
@luistigerfox Месяц назад
Yeah, Infographics definitely gave the Russians too much credit in that one. I don't see them, with their already strained logistical capabilities from the war on Ukraine and various sanctions they're under, being able to remotely contend with the expansive logistics network that is U.S. military infrastructure. When your country's military doctrine is all about power projection, that entails being able to mobilize rapidly and at scale. They also definitely overestimated total U.S. and Polish losses, clearly for the sake of argument, and again to either make drama or give Russia its best possible chance. I wouldn't be worried about any proposed short vulnerability window with China, either. Not just due to as you note, our ability to reform many of our industries into wartime economy, pushing weapons production, but also China still lacks a proper blue water navy to even attempt good power projection back at us. About how quickly we come together, back before World War II in 1939, the U.S. Navy had under 400 ships. By the peak our involvement in the war, there were over 7,000 ships in service. The merchant marine, responsible for the bulk of our logistics was able to build a new transport vessel within an astonishing 43 days. Which means that in the 6 year period from 1939 to 1935, there were an average of 3.2 naval vessels of varying type being constructed per DAY. All this said, with the current state of Russia, it doesn't look like we'd need a fraction of that much effort as compared to our standing military, and existing stockpiles.
@apelcius
@apelcius Месяц назад
@luistigerfox indeed. Further, many don't realize just how much we already have sitting around the world, for that exact scenario. We could take on multiple nations at once, just by using the bases nearest those nations. We have entire bases in some countries, just to stockpile weapons and vehicles. I definitely agree with your statement, that I think they fudged the numbers quite a bit, and I also suspect it had to do with giving Russia the best chance in the scenario. They can't deal with the stuff we've had on our shelves for decades, at one mom and pop store... and people think they can handle every store in the country? And somehow handle the full production lines we have to refill those stores? It's bonkers lol

Well one thing this video forgot to mention is what’s called the Defense Protection Act this gives the president the power to act on and proceed with if needed. During WW2 a lot of the American manufacturers retooled their production lines from what ever they made to making military production and supplies. If you want a good explanation of the act just google it, it will explain it much better than I can.

World War II isn't the best comparison of what would happen in a war between just the U.S. and Russia, for starters, the U.S. was manufacturing tanks, planes, trucks, jeeps, artillery, ammunition, tents, uniforms, medical supplies and food for the U.K./commonwealth forces, U.S.S.R., the resistance groups across Europe, Australia, China, and our own military which the demand of surpassed our dedicated military factories capabilities to meet resulting in a need to convert civilian factories to wartime footings to meet our obligations with the lend-lease. If we are supplying just ourselves, we don't need to convert existing factories to a wartime footing as we do have dedicated factories capable of supplying our own military needs, that's why it wasn't mentioned in the video, it wouldn't come into play in such a scenario. To explain NATO policy in a very simplistic way, NATO responds as one if any of their members is directly attacked. However if one of the NATO members attack another country, the rest of NATO is not compelled to join in the attack. In this example, Ukraine was attacked which caused US causalities, but the US was not attacked directly. Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so NATO does not respond. The US then declares war on Russia without taking a direct attack from Russia, and so NATO again is not required to join in the attack, because the US was never directly attacked.

21:21 so what trophy system does is quickly eject, a hot flash or flame that tricks the generally heat seeking or light seeking missile. I do know for a fact that’s how most if not all work when it comes to aircraft, but I’m not sure if it’s the same with tanks since they’re on the ground and closer, but I’m assuming it has the same type of basis. The whole point of the trophy system is to deflect the missile or make it implode before it hits the tank in order to keep the tank safe. Tank warfare, however, has evolved immensely compared to World War I and 2 and the overall tanks and equipment themselves have advanced as well.

This video completely over looked the fact that America and other NATO countries have already started to ramp up and expand weapons production to replace losses in stock due to supplying Ukraine. The idea China would be able to exploit an American ammo shortage is pure fantasy. Let's not even mention the fact that America is currently deploying AIM-174B and AIM-260 AMRAAM upgrades to the Pacific Fleets to remove any air combat range advantage China briefly enjoyed the last couple years. The Chinese military invasion of Taiwan would face the same fate Russia has in Ukraine...severe economic impacts, lack of combat experience, poor logistic structure, and under-estimation of the enemy will to fight would lead to disaster.

The US would not go to war for the death of 15 men stationed inside a warzone. But the US would give high tech missiles to Ukraine for "Ukraine soldiers" to deploy. It would require an overt attack on a US ship or base in a peaceful allied country. Did this video even mention the US Army strategic reserve of 2 armored divisions worth of equipment stored and maintained in Italy? It allows US Armored divisions to just fly in personelle, and hop in the tanks and Bradley's and be ready to fight anywhere in Europe within 1 or 2 week. Also among our enemies, American soldiers almost have a mythical status of having all the advantages, especially Marines and special forces. Facing the US would erode Russian morale. The US does not conduct "Fair" warfare. The goal for the US is overwhelming Firepower.

U.S. doctrine is the embodiment of "Troops and guns win battles. Logistics wins wars." Almost everything we have is about maintaining an effective logistical network, from our expansive satellite networks (including the UHF satellites mentioned earlier), to the placement of U.S. military bases across the globe, to the existence of aircraft carrier strike groups and their dedicated supply vessels, air tankers, sea-based tanker fleet, and transport ships. The entire military is designed around getting the equipment and personnel that will be needed to where they're needed as soon as possible.
@granatmof

Getting troops and materials where they're needed around the globe when they are needed. The US is the only global superpower, it's the point of the bases dotted all around the world. Every other nation including Russia and China are regional superpowers, they can only attack and defend within their sphere if influence. The US military is designed to operate fully on two different fronts around the globe while defending American Soil. Basically we're like the Wayne Gretsky of military logistics: even if you just look at a large fraction of our stats we dominate everyone else's numbers.

Just from this theory, it's all BS, it's forgetting that China, NK and several others including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and others will be helping Russia. That's not a problem, US can deal with them too, but Russia ain't going to fight this war directly, we all know that, so the theory is already wrong. It's not the war they(China, NK and others) care about, its Europe and US economy, they are all sending aids to Russia, but the main goal is helping China and India, by prolonging the war. If you already understand what's the great risk, great, but if not, I'm just going to give hints, because it will take too long to explain, USD will drop in massive value to rebuilt their arsenal, buying more resources and techs, they will purchase more with US currency. That's where the domino effect starts. US dollar goes down, effects oil regardless if US can maintained the US currency, but it doesn't affect BRICS whatsoever as they don't use US currency for oil. Which will only impact US gold. And all hell will break lose, starts with NATO that would seek their own economy survival. Please understand, BRICS would help Russia as they will gain the same way they are gaining now, US has a lot of debt to CHINA. And NATO would backstab you to save themselves. Germany economy is still going down, it already affected 9 countries, Switzerland, France, UK, Austria, Poland, Italy(their growth is only temporary), Spain, Hungary and Romania.
