This song is a slap to haters and "fans" who can't move on from old BP music and saying they are repititive.Yet when they give something new, they get criticized for sounding different from their old style. They're shutting it down cause this is a new era. 🔥 "Keep talkin', we shut you down."

I think this is my fav song from black pink. I can’t get over the fact they used some of Paganini’s violin track La Campanella. He was an amazing violinist/composer/musician and people thought he was the devil back in the day. That’s how crazy good he was. Two amazing performers in one song.

And some tracks are strongly emotional. I am glad they all sound different from Shut Down and Pink Venom. I am also glad that they know that they cant just bingbingbing boomboomboom Ratatatata forever. Blinks who just want every of their songs to sound like Kill This Love should grow up too. As a super OG blink, i fully endorse this development.

IDK why but I think that is a nice touch. You have Jennie’s tank from ddu, and her iconic pose from playin with fire when she’s sitting in the bathtub. Jisoo’s iconic umbrella from ddu, rose’s car from kill this love, and her sitting on the globe from whistle, and Lisa’s bridge scene from playing with fire. I think this album is new chapter for Blackpink to change type of music from hip hop edm-ish to new style because haters think their songs are repetitive. The violin is a sample of La Campanella of classic music which is one of best classics. In this M/V there are lots of reference to their previous track and M/V. If u wonder where this violin sound comes from. It's "la Campanella" by Franz Liszt. Originally it's a piano piece, but there are also violin versions. As for me it's my favorite piano piece of all time.

Since you mentioned checking out other korean artists, I highly recommend Stray Kids! They are a boygroup and they are insanely talented! They can all sing, dance and rap and they completely produce their own songs! From the songwriting, to the composing and arrangements... They do it all! They have a new album named "MAXIDENT" coming out on the 7th of October and it's set to be one of the biggest Kpop albums to come out this year! Their last album "Oddinary" was #1 on the Billboard 200 charts, but MAXIDENT is already breaking some of their old records just with the pre orders! If you ever want to check them out, I highly recommend their songs "Thunderous", "God's Menu" and "Maniac"!! They cover a lot of genres from pop, to edm and rock or even psych trance so there's something for everyone in their HUGE discography!! Can't wait for the album reaction later on!

While the song is a clapback to haters, it’s almost as if the M/V is also alluding to shutting down their past eras. The m/v had many specific references to their past M/Vs. The signages in the background were basically littered with titles of their old songs, & each member’s scenes had specific references to scenes frm their old M/Vs. Jennie’s tank scene was from Ddu-Du -Ddu-Du (D4) whereas her bathtub scene is frm Playing with Fire. Jisoo’s umbrella and getting photographed scenes respectively are frm D4. Rosé on a globe is from Whistle, her in a car from Kill This Love & on a chandelier from Boombayah. Lisa with the truck is from Boombayah, with the katana sword from D4 and rapping was from Playing with Fire except that they made it rain this time. All 4 of them in a car was from Whistle.
