I appreciate that too, but on the flights that I've been on, the acceleration is much more gradual. I assume that the pilot doesn't want to startle any already nervous passengers.
The 777 somehow manages to sound powerful and classy at the same time. It roars just enough to let you know it’s powerful, yet is very quiet for passengers during cruise

With engine that big, no flopping around would terrify me even more. Either the engine pylon is made out of vibranium or weight more than the plane itself
If anything, they're designed to have some flex within them. If the entire wing assembly was rigid they'd snap off. The flexibility actually makes them stronger
