Has anyone tried one of these recent regional flights with BA Cityflyer? I get the impression they're kind of 'filling the gap' left when Stobart went under and I'm not sure how long they'll be on these routes when Emerald Airlines start flying them and Flybe return (if that ever happens).
Anyway, come with me on this short hop over to Belfast as we have a look at the onboard offering, the cabin and some great views of the North Wales coast before the approach down Belfast Lough to the City Airport and away. I'll tell you how much it costs and the most affordable and easy way to get from the airport to the city and beyond.

Yep, I hope they carry on from BHX but tbh, there weren’t that many on the flight and Flybe are announcing their ‘new’ routes next week so there’s a bit more competition- at least for now…..

Good review, thanks. Nice to see regional routes - planes in use for the weekend when LCY is closed! I remember back in the day when BHX had the "Eurohub" - a whole network of European BA routes, of which I only got to fly CDG!

I don't remember the Eurohub - that would be brilliant now if only as a real alternative to the truly terrible (and getting worse) Manchester! I'm back down to LCY next month anyway on another Embraer so looking forward to that. Cheers mate.

Love a little Embraer - done Lisbon to Manchester a couple of times with TAP, like being on a business jet in comparison to the budget airlines.

I quite fancy doing this route too. Haven’t tried TAP yet. The other one would be LPL to FRA with Lufthansa in their CRJ900. Both would be interesting flights I reckon 👍

Hi Simon, cheers mate. Next week will be the trip up to Portrush. Not much on Bangor itself tbh but Portrush was nice and worth a trip imo.

Another enjoyable video ! I'm always looking forward to your new video every Friday. A return of Flybe would be great. I remember they even flew from Antwerp to the UK. We need more of those kind of flights over here.

Good review as always. As you say, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with BA CityFlyer in the future on these ex-Stobart routes.

Cheers mate, seems like Flybe are taking an age with sorting their routes out and as they’ll be based at BHX, I don’t thinks there’s much future for Cityflyer here. No lounge access either, BA wouldn’t pay the money apparently 😂

There is also a shuttlebus service from the airport directly into Belfast City Centre. It stops right outside the airport and leaves you off at central bus station. Definitly a far more convenient airport than our, so called, International airport.

I flew with BA Cityflyer on the BHD/BHX/BHD recently and both flights were fairly quiet. BHD/BHX - We got a small granola bar and cup of orange and on the BHX/BHD - A small packet of crisps and a drink from the bar. I want to try them to LCY in the future too as I believe the service is even better. ✈️

Reminds me of my favourite flight I've ever done, Loganair (turbo prop) from Aberdeen to Belfast International Airport, the scenery was spectacular looking over snowcapped mountains most of the way..

Nice vid as always Mark, looked like a fun short hop. I'm excited for Flybes return never flown with them but I remember they offered flights to Belfast, Dublin and Amsterdam I think from my local airport (DSA) so I hope that returns!

Yep, they’re going to be based at BHX (and BHD I think). I made one of my first videos flying with them on a Dash-8 to Hamburg. A bit rough and ready I thought but they had decent connectivity in those days. Fingers crossed for a decent route network but I think they have more competition this time around.

Warning.. Be careful with hand luggage size with Flybe, they don't confirm with most other airlines regarding size.

Great vid as usual. For the distance/ aircraft/quality o thought it was very cheap. Flights from Belfast, either airport are not known for their good value, have a look at flights from Belfast city to Southampton if you want too see eye watering pricing lol

Thanks David. Yep I reckon you shouldn’t really have to pay more than around £30 o/w between BHX/MAN and Belfast these days. SOU yep, cheapest I could find was around £68 flying with Eastern. Not too bad really 👍
