A brief look at the Lightweight Waterproof Jacket for the British Army in Multi Terrain Pattern Camo, MTP was developed in conjunction with Crye Precision and based on the Multi Cam system
Salaam.... Good to see another review from your good self... Army jacket and army boots... Bring made for the army I can imagine its a solid piece of kit... Hope your getting lots of walks in... As for me steady hikes on the weekend as its Ramadan...
Hi Bob yes Ramadan Kareem, in Jan I was in the ME and got some walks in but during Feb/March been working on a house project when the weather allowed ! hope to pick up on the walking during April Inshallah Take care out there
I got one of these and use it when walking and camping. Washed and reproofed it just to be on the safe side and I can definitely vouch for it's waterproofness. Where else can you get a gore-tex jacket for £35. Love it. 👍
Thanks for your input, yes looking at gore-tex jackets they go for like 150 upwards, so as you say these are great value. I have found the other day in a very cold wind that a very effective windproof/windcheater Take care out there
Thanks for your input in the USA at the moment visited a massive Army Surplus store near Dallas, they had everything except what I wanted a pair of US Army boots in my size ! Take care out there
I tried a reply but does not look like it posted. I think very much depends of the specification and quality comparison. Go OutDoors have a similar looking jacket for GBP 139 then 165 upwards 200 plus. Army Surplus can be very good value because of the items made for tough conditions plus the initial cost has been paid for by the tax payers of a particular country. Two issues with surplus is the supply which can change plus you are buying an item that most likely somebody else has used, which may not be acceptable Take care out there
Any idea why was it designed to be worn under a Smock instead of over it? It seems to be illogical - to have soaked Smock on top of your hardshell. Smock isn't as waterproof as MVP membrane.
Hello, yes not sure somebody in the British Army can perhaps advise, it could be ? that the smock is designed to be more of a wind proof coat that if wet can perhaps then dry out faster with the Membrane garment underneath to keep the rain out ? just an idea Take care out there
Evening mate, as I say too everyone. How can you review it until you use it. Not a nav point. But until you use it. Then you can review it. Keep positive mate. Thanks for sharing. Atb Andy
Hello fair point, yes I will do a follow up review, this was more to provide information for anybody looking to by one, what to look for on the label as opposed to a commercial copy Take care out there
