Back in the day I used to play offense and defense, all game 2 games a week. Your adrenaline is pumping so hard you don't feel a lot of the hits. The trick is to hit them so hard your inertia wins and they get the brunt of it.

this is why there are multiple strings to various positions in american football. there is almost always someone getting hurt. they do what they can to protect players via rules or padding, but you still get pretty messed up some times.

There are very few rules regarding tackling in football. You can't tackle using the facemask. You can't grab the collar and drag the runner down from behind. You can't spear or use your helmet as a weapon or target another player's head. You can't clothesline anymore, Other than those few rules you can put them on the ground any way you can.

Many of these plays are illegal under present rules. Physically picking up an opposing player and slamming him to the turf once his forward progress is clearly stopped is a serious foul (called "Unnecessary Roughness") resulting in a fifteen years penalty against the offending player's team, as well as the potential disqualification of that player, depending on the perceived severity of the foul. Players can be and are sent off for targeting an opposing player's head. The interpretation of what qualifies as targeting is more strictly enforced at the college level than the professional. A player who is sent off must leave the field and change out of uniform. If he commits the foul in the second half of a game, he may not play in the first half of the following game. Unlike association football, a sent off player may be replaced by a substitute... His team is not forced to play with ten men.

College plays 1 game a week for 12 or 13 weeks. Then a bowl game if you are at the top of your conference. If you win that you go onto the College Football Playoff. It is currently the top 4 ranked teams in the nation.Next season they may expand to top 8. The last two teams play for the National Title. In the NFL they play one game a week for 16 weeks and they get to have a week off when they choose called a bye week. The winners of each conference (American and National) play the wild card winners in a game to win their division. The winners of each divisional game then go on to play the Super Bowl.

The NFL has some of the best Medical people in not just the NFL, but in all the world. They have tightened the rules of contact in the last 5 years or so. Because of CTE. Its a disease that is caused by hard contact. The Brain floats in cerebral fluid, its loose floating. So, contact causes it to bang against the interior or the skull, bruising the brain. The doctors thought it was Parkingson's disease. It took an African doctor to figure out that people with it often played hard contact sports. Football, Hockey, Boxing, etc.. Will Smith made a great film about it called "Concussion"

There are rules, you can grab them by the helmet and pull them down (face mask). But most of those legal. But they play a game a week. What you don't see is they get up after the hits. Played from little league through college. The higher the level, the worst the injuries and pain. The question is can you finish the season. Everybody is hurt. Durability and toughness is a big part of the game. Every starter, except maybe the kicker, is going to have something wrong. This is why college teams have 80 plus guys. NFL teams carry 53. You're going to get hurt, the question is how bad and can you keep playing.
@keenangant982
@keenangant982 5 лет назад
You're forgetting that the 53 man roaster is picked from a large list of players consisting of practice squad, starters, and 2nd and up string lineups. 53 is the maximum amount you can activate for a game if I'm not mistaken.
@prkrjlln
@prkrjlln 5 лет назад
@@keenangant982 You're right, 53 is the most a team can carry. If I remember right, teams are limited to 10 players on the practice squad. Teams start out with a bunch of players, but once the season kicks off, they only get 53 plus the 10 on the practice squad. Sixty three is pretty thin when the season grinds on for 16 weeks.

And the daily practices can be just as rough as the games on some teams. And yeah. You get up and keep going. You may not know your name or where you are but you keep playing. Its the next day after a game thats painful. Sometimes in the morning after a game itd take me an hour just to get the blood out of my sinuses so i could breathe proper. Shirt breaths because bruised ribs. And careful walking so dont jar your spine. But by end of the day youd be right as rain and ready for more. And that was just high school football.

If an offensive player carrying the ball leaves there feet then you are allow to bring them to the ground in any manner you can as a defender, which includes body slamming them. Runners are taught that you don't jump unless absolutely necessary to gain the ground needed. Its a risk calculation. Lifting up a player who did not jump is illegal. The body slams that occur in the video which are full suplex are illegal. The ones where the running back jumps then gets slammed are legal. Hope that clears its up.

NFL is played once a week. 16 games per year without including preseason or playoffs. There are three phases of football: Special Teams, Offense, and Defense. For now let's ignore special teams. The sport is played on a 100 yard long field. The object of the game is to carry the ball across the other team's goal line to score touchdowns while preventing the other team from scoring. Contrary to traditional football, the game is not continuous, it is divided by plays. One team possesses the ball at a time, and there are different personnel for offense and defense. Offense: When a team possesses the ball it begins at a set point on the field and in order to maintain possession, your team must gain 10 yards in 3 plays or else give up possession to the other team. A play ends when the player is tackled and ends up on the ground with the ball. As long as you continuously pass the 10 yard mark (generally signified on tv by the yellow line) then you retain possession. Football is like extreme chess because it requires a variety of different skill types to be successful. On offense there are 3 divisions for starters: 1. Quarterback- distributes the ball to other players and is the leader that makes the decisions for the team. 2. Offensive Line- 300 lb (136 kg) men whose purpose is to defend the quarterback long enough to distribute the ball or haul ass down the field with it. 3. Skill players- These are the players that generated jukes as you watched in a separate video. Their job is to run free so that the QB can throw the ball to them. Defense: The job of the defense is to stop the possession of the offense. In order to do so, they must either prevent the offense from advancing 10 yards, or forcibly steal the ball by catching it (interception) or forcing a fumble (knocking the ball out of the player's hand). Special Teams: Inbetween possessions the special teams comes on for either team to ensure that the ball is placed as deep into the other team's territory so that they have to travel much further for a touchdown. What special teams does specifically is kicks or punts the ball (depending on circumstance) as far as they can and then contains the player who attempts to return the ball. Touchdowns are worth 6 points and the 7th point is achieved right after the touchdown on an attempted kick that needs to go through the yellow goal posts. If a team is close enough, but do not achieve a touchdown, they can also attempt 3 points by kicking it. Many europeans are attempting to become kickers. There are more rules, let me know if you're curious, hope that at least gives you basic bearings on the sport!
