@@DNReacts Yeah, I mean..you're right about the GK being off his line, I'm sure that was just dramatic storytelling though. But still, an actor striking on target from that distance was impressive!
@@ClarkJ2265 , oh yeah. 94% of the world's population plays this game, International cast for the players..not surprised that some of the actors can do stuff with the ball at their feet. 😁
The story was the director was going to give Phil Dunster a couple tries at it and if he didn't make it, they would CGI it in. Dunster made the shot on his first try so the other actors and extras went nuts in response.
Well, it's nice to hear people who know something about football discussing that whole "park the bus" strategy, and comment on its viability as a tactic. I know squat about managing the game, so I had no idea if it was for real or bogus.
FYI, Phil Dunster (Jamie) actually hit that free kick FOR REAL on the first take. They were intending to use CGI to make it look good, but didn't end up needing to. (And yes, it was bad goalkeeping, but seriously - from that far out I would have expected a pass instead of a shot, as well.)
PArt of why they remind one of Crystal Palace, is they filmed at Selhurst Park. It is the Dogtrack. So since it was already the Red and Blue, they went with it for Richmond colours. Being a Brighton fan, I can admit, being Richmond is the one thing of value Palarse has ever done. :D Also point of note, Phil Dunster actually scored that Free Kick on the first time of filming. It was a great shot.
@@DNReacts , yeah. They just throw a little CGI over the top to 'disguise' Selhurst. I've read elsewhere that the fictional games between CP and Richmond had CP winning as a "thank you" to Palace for letting them use the place for recording the game video footage.
I won’t get sappy, but it’s been a tough couple of years and I’ve been moving around a lot-lost a lotta friends. Watching ya guys is like hanging with old mates and makes my day/week, every time! 🤙🏼
That’s a lovely thing to say! Glad we can help even a little bit. You should join our discord, a lot of friendly people on there and and we are pretty active! 😀
It's funny that you said he reminds you of Grielish, he even mentioned he pulled some of the his inspiration for his character from him, there a few others that he mentioned too.
Guys, love the reactions… fun to relive the episodes with you two. So, for the Bantr connection for Rebecca, if you go back and watch clips of scenes they are in together, you will see the sparkle in ‘the player’s’ eyes.
Great reaction! I never suspected Ted as the one messaging with Rebecca on Bantr because it appears he is not over his ex-wife and has yet to move on and seek someone else. Plus Ted seems like the type who puts himself out there even when it is uncalled for. His personality lends itself to direct in person interaction with strangers rather than secret interaction on an app.
The jacket isn't actually a continuity error. Ted is wearing two layers on the pitch - an outer rainproof shell and the puffy coat. He's still wearing the coat in the office; it's the outer layer he leaves on the floor of the training room.
I refuse to pay for Apple TV and only saw season 1 and 2 after getting an iPhone and the free trial… I’ve not seen season 3 and have the dilemma of watching your reactions or waiting until I update my phone 🤣. I sure enjoy these reactions.
I delayed getting a subscription until I knew S3 was coming out. My subscription has since expired and I’m waiting to S2 of Shrinking comes out to renew. Also I read that AppleTV is producing a series starring my favorite KDrama actor so I will definitely be renewing when that comes out.
13:43 your reaction here made me laugh, as I have no idea what any of that meant. I could deep analyze American Football plays but not Football. At least I can call it Football 🤣.
@18:00 - You did have a bit of a teaser in who it was if you think back to the training room superstition episode, where Sam went to her and asked that she join them, he told her how beautiful she was.
@@DNReacts Yeah, didn't affect the choice of each other on the app. Just is a hint to the audience as to who the writers were making it be, in hindsight, and helps to make what comes next feel more organic.
If you're looking for a continuity error, look at that free kick again: the number of players in the wall changes with every camera cut as well as the race of the keeper.
Haha, I've watched this episode a few times, and your reaction is the first time I've noticed that Rebecca is talking to guys on an app called 2MSCNT: tumescent haha. I'm guessing that Hunky Luca is a very blessed young fella 😂
I love this season the most because it deals with mental health. Hopefully that's not a spoiler and if so, I'm sorry lol. Looking forward to the next upload. Take Care ...
lol yea it was bad goal keeping... but that's cause the goal keeper was dumb founded it was going in because the actor actually made that shot. everyone celebrating was their actual reaction.
Great catch about Ted’s jacket on the floor. I’ve watched this show numerous times and only just caught that a minute before you said it and I don’t think anyone else mentioned it before either
Some people have mentioned it before but not many because it IS NOT a continuity error. Ted was wearing two jackets on the field. Go back and check "giving Jaime the signal" where you can easily see both jackets and their design differences.
You lads are proper footballers & it cracks me up how you're on the team strategy better than the pundits (like real life, I reckon!) After I recommended Ted Lasso to some friends & they binge watched it, they told their son the show was about football, and I thought, nah, its about people changing within a loose framework of football. Good, innit?
I avoided watching season 3 of Ted Lasso until I watched a yalls reaction to it. I binged watched it over Saturday & Sunday. I hated seeing it end, but I get it. BTW, Hannah Waddingham is my celebrity crush. She's finer than granulated sugar, LawdHaveMercy!
Re. "that is bad goalkeeping" - my number one issue with the game footage. I can see why the do it, so that they can show actual shots going in, but it means the keepers are always way out of position. It's like in this world they've never learned how to play the angles. But football is really difficult to shoot. Rehearsed plays look too slow, and if you just let the play you can't get the footage you want. That's probably the main reason reason baseball movies work better than other sports. It's so much easier to set up a dramatic play when you have everything stop for a pitch.
About all the grousing about the GK and Jamie's goal....I've seen several "great goals" videos, and there's always goals in them that look similar to Jamie's goal.
@@DNReacts It seems to be the overarching theme of the entire series. But since you’re only midway through season 2 on YT, I don’t want give examples and spoil anything.
