It's March 1995 and we see some classic Southern Region EMU action at Charing Cross and London Bridge. Plenty of EPB's and even a couple of then new Networker 465 & 466's, units that are now being withdrawn. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!

Brings back good memories of going from Charing Cross to Northfleet in the late 80s and early 90s to visit my grandad.

Really pleased to have come across this by accident! Thank you for uploading. I worked at Charing Cross from 1979-86 and so these units are very familiar! I am old enough to remember them in green livery!

Loved travelling on these slam doors between Herne Bay or Canterbury to London.

Excellent video. Looks like you started just as the peak started with the first 2 coming up empty. 16 was sevenoaks. 80 Dartford via Greenwich. 34 up Hayes via Ladywell. 42 Gillingham via Sidcup

I used to love CharingX as a kid, always seemed to be a little island of peace in the city... and Holborn Viaduct

Brilliant Soi!! Just when I think you've posted your best video you post a better one! I was just about old enough to go to London with my mates for a day in the mid-90s , and I remember being enthralled by all the ancient third rail EMUs flying in all directions.... just like this! Thanks as always for sharing 👍

I really did like trains in Network Southeast livery. I do remember Network Southeast very well.

First thing that comes into my head when I see these is the compressor noise!

Great Video. I commuted from Eltham to Charing Cross from 1992-96. Miss the old slammer EPBs!

The Notworker invasion was almost complete here and within a month the EPB's would be history. The 16.30 Charing Cross to Hayes was staunchly EPB almost until the very end and when that went I really knew the end was nigh. Still they had a good send off with 5001 & 5176 providing a Railtour which I went on and was a great, if sad, day. Now things have come full circle 28 years later with the 465's now being withdrawn and I certainly won't be on a farewell tour with them but I will cheerfully wave them goodbye on their way to the scrapyard!

How would today's smartphone wielding, coffee holding , earphone wearing wuzzock deal with a slam door train?, not good, same as they would use an open platform bus, "Help!, I have fallen over, I want compensation". " Where is the App?". This was proper trains, people knew how to use them.

Why do some heavy rail use third rail power and others you've shown use catenary?

oof! whose idea must it've been to redivise the 4CIG windows to appear stuffily crusty? startlingly easy, snuffing flambuoyant gaiety out like that
