If you ever come to America and want to experience a deafening crowd go to Seattle Seahawks playoff game (NFL) or Carolina Hurricanes playoff game (NHL) both have the loudest arenas in their league. I went to a Hurricanes playoff game and my ears were still ringing the next morning.. unreal, arena hits almost 130 db.. for comparison a jet taking off is 100db.

To understand the monumental achievement it was for a man of 38 at the end of a 20 year career to put up a 60 pt game you have to watch something that gives you an idea of just how big an event this even was. There were former teammates, celebrities and it looked like about half the population of LA jammed into the arena just to see him on the court one last time, then he drops 60 to come back and win the game! A true legend!

I went to an NBA playoff game once in my life. 2016 Golden State at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Game 3 of the finals. The Cavs won by 30 points. It was so loud that I couldn't hear myself yell and I was yelling as loud as I could.

I also work for the Blazers, and Let me tell ya, there is crazy loyalty there and even in a losing season, people still come out like crazy just to watch. Many great reactions, winning or losing but never giving up hope for the team

The loudest I've ever seen was Wastbrook+Durrant era Thunder. And the coordinated colors in the crowd usually means shirts were put on each seat before the game started so the crowd would be matched. Typically something they do for really big games or playoff games.

The Warriors recently moved from Oakland to San Francisco. But in Oakland, they usually had one of the hardest places to play due to their loud fans.

A lot of these broadcasts have a ton of sound mixing going on. They have to lower the volume of the crowd noise quite a bit so that you can still here the commentators, referee's whistles, and some of the gameplay noises (sneaker squeaks, players talking back and forth, music being played live in the stadium etc.). That's why, on a lot of these clips, the crowd sounds a lot louder for the first half second or so and then fades out. It's a live broadcast so they have to find that balance in real time.

And yo the significance of that last game was absolutely massive. Kobe played 20 years all for the lakers, was there from 19 years old to damn near 40. He blew his Achilles tendon in year or 2 years prior. They weren't in the playoffs so that was his last game. Everybody in the arena knew he was going to try and put on a show and Kobe absolutely delivered. Even though normally nobody would agree that one player attempting 50 shots is good basketball, but for Kobe's last game, we all wanted it.

You wanna talk about loud crowds AND epic moments, look no further than Kobe's final game. Crowd cheered him so loud when the announcer introduced him over the PA you couldn't even hear the announcer speak. Every bucket Kobe scored the crowd went nuts, knowing it was his final game, at home in LA, after twenty years as a Laker, the team he was a die hard fan of since child hood.

It's usually a playoff game or some type of special occasion. OKC, GSW, and Miami are big on that type of message. And the Lakers usually have the biggest fanbase; because, often time, they'll not only sell out home stands but have a huge fanbase when they go and face other teams on the road. Hell, a bunch of the road games this season felt like home games; with the amount of people repping the purple and gold jerseys.
