@E., We Germans would never leave the European Union. It would be fatal. We would lose so much, economically, politically, freedom of movement, the power being in a block. Also, the Ode to joy (the anthem of the EU, Beethoven) is sung in German. All poll in the EU state shows a stronger argument for being in the EU. This decision should never be put forward to the uninformed electorate

UK, Brexit, done! Even there are many voices to go back to EU, it will not happen. British already get used to live in misery, now they have their own leaders to blame for their life toughness, and nobody else in Brussels. That and the weather. 😏 Just my humble opinion.
@genome616
@genome616 Год назад
Leaders we can now use the power of the vote to remove unlike the EU elite who are deciding EU members laws and have no accountability to their votes as individual votes as citizens directly affected by such laws, it called the UK has real democracy now and the EU has a false democracy. The UK Economy is facing the same challengers as other EU members and is fairing better in many cases, also we have successfully joined the CPTPP now a trade body worth around 11 trillion with half a billion consumers and no overbearing and reaching political system to govern us with, a trade group where politics are removed and so are tariffs, we have sealed a deal that blocks us from any kind of joining back into the customs union unless down the line the EU joins the CPTPP and that will never happen because they will have to give up control of their members.

t is tragic to see Britain in this state, empty streets, where even supermarkets sut down id evidence how much consumption really went down and sighn that country really struggles. BRITAIN has fallen, just as BRITTANIA have fallen when ROME left . UK became real HELL on EARTH for its citizen last 10 years, like it is not even same country it once used to be. The speed of that change is unbelievable... 14th increase of interest rates ? This will impact mortgage holders as well as renters. look officially is UK 6th largest economy , but that does not have to mean it is a prosperous nation. China is 2nd largest and it has 400 million poor out of 1,4 billion people and that is data before Covid and Ukraine war. UK is very misserable place to live in right now

@maxharbig1167

It, the EU and its predecessors, has never been the mere market place the UK thought it was, or pretended to think it was. Since its inception as the European Coal and Steel Community in the 1950s its publicly stated goal has alwas been an ever increasing economic, social and political integration and interdependence between its members. If the UK believed differently it should never have joined but after the devaluation of the pound in 1967 did not enable it to alleviate its ghastly economic situation it saw the EU membership as a possible solution. Lo and behold it worked but as prosperity came along people forgot and thought that the UK had prospered all on its own and its mass media worked hard to convince them that it could actually do better outside the EU. The result of that choice can be seen in the pound's performance versus both the dollar and the euro since 20i6. It is done now and cannot be undone. Brexiteers do not need to worry about rejoining. The EU will not even renegotiate anything much with the UK for the foreseeable future. Once bitten twice shy.
@RJ-nz5jn

If you were part of the EU before why didn't the other members of the EU get to vote since the change would affect them too?
@hedda2022
@hedda2022 Год назад
Because all countries of the EU are independent, but agree to follow some rules and goals about certain things. French people can't vote in German elections, Polish people can't vote in Spanish elections etc etc. I don't know what country you're from, but probably it has alliances with others - do those other countries have a say in your domestic policies?
@chubbymoth5810
@chubbymoth5810 Год назад
It was their decision to leave and though annoyed by it, it was their sovereign decision. There never was any impediment on sovereignty to begin with, but the nutters didn't see that they would have to agree to any rules within the EU in the first place. Many of those proposed by the UK itself. Anyhow,.. so they filed for divorce, and agreement was signed and then they broke that in specific and limited ways, like you can tell your bank about not paying your mortgage. The custody battle about Northern Ireland and Gibraltar was part of that and the EU clearly won that as maternity could be proven whereas the father is somewhat in doubt. The smart one moved to the EU as he couldn't get funding for his PhD subject anymore, the artistic one is sitting in his room crying, the adventurous one spent most his trip waiting in the third country ques and the youngest one sees his prospects of being a banker dwindle with the rest of the economy. In all the divorce cost more than the 40 years marriage in total and it turns out that without the inspiring guidance of the other spouses, the UK is not half that productive. The EU certainly has a say in letting the silly buggers back in though. There will have to be some clear changes in the relation before that will happen. It certainly isn't their good looks or cuisine that will matter.

@yungpandana4463
@yungpandana4463 10 месяцев назад
When I recently travelled to Kazakhstan I found much better quality meat than anything I've ever found in the EU (vegetables too to a lesser extent). However, when I wanted to bring some of my favourite food back I found that taking meat and dairy into the EU from a non-EU country is forbidden because apparently Europeans care about the quality of their food lol. I therefore asked the European Commission on Facebook if there was any way I could declare my food and have it checked to be safe to bring back simply for my personal consumption (I was literally ready to follow through with whatever procedure they said, even if that required visiting a Kazakh farm in person) they gave me a contradictory response. They said firstly "meat and dairy from non-EU countries cannot be brought into EU (followed by) ... meat and dairy products coming from non-EU countries which isn't declared will be confiscated and may result in fines". This therefore indicates that there is a way of importing meat and dairy from non-EU countries because otherwise they wouldn't have written "which isn't declared". I pointed out the contradiction to the European Commission which they refused to comment on. They sent me a survey on how well written their response was and when I tried to enter "very poorly written" .... they didn't want to accept my reply to their survey. 🙃 If you convince the population living in the EU that leaving the EU is based on some Colonial desire or some hate for migrants, then ofc the EU member states will be less likely to want to leave than if they were told that the food in the EU is crap and bad quality. Because nobody in their right mind will be against eating better quality food. And you could tell me that "oh, it's better to eat local food" and I would usually agree ... except I often see lamb which comes from New Zealand (literally the other side of the world), which is somehow allowed by the EU. A practice which is enriching the already rich countries of the world. Instead we could be providing opportunities for poorer, less developed countries to expand relations with richer partners than Russia or China for example which will in turn help develop their economies better. Virtually nobody is suggesting Brexit as a means of returning to some Colonial Empire and the only people who leaving the EU as a means of "taking back control of our borders" argument is profitable for is the EU itself in deterring states from leaving. You guess wrong!

@yungpandana4463
@yungpandana4463 10 месяцев назад
@@maxharbig1167 That sounds about right. Unlike Kazakhstan, the UK doesn't have a vast land to grow crops on. Besides it's an island meaning it's probably more expensive to import fresh goods, hence the amount of "ultra-processed" food is higher. And while leaving the EU probably made it more expensive to import fresh goods, I feel like even while in the EU it was likely higher due to these factors. If say Poland were to leave the EU, while the amount of "ultra processed" food bought would initially rise, I doubt they would experience it to quite the same degree. Oh, also while writing this comment I looked up the map with the statistics you're referring to and, what you conveniently forgot to mention, is that one of the main EU members (Germany) only consumes 4.5% less ultra processed food than the UK. Before the UK left the EU I remember there being significantly more fast food there than in France so I'm beginning to wonder whether the problem you're talking about isn't linked to the EU at all. @@IsomerSoma Convenience. It’s a much more practical use of your time to conduct and video a bunch of interviews all together in one go. Compiling the responses into separate videos is done at a later time. It’s similar to making a movie: scenes are filmed out of sequence, then edited together later into the proper order. Also, a large people typically decline to participate and talk on camera. It can take quite a bit of time to find people who a willing to do so. But once you do find such a person, it makes sense to ask them a bunch of questions on a range of topics. So, yes, working this way can give the appearance of it being orchestrated.

And how has migration been going since Brexit, then? Want me to tell you? It's gone up!!! @@marksimons8861 Yes sir, absolutely right. Brexit has buggered up the possibility of future generations to work in EU with FOM. But... just on an aside... you're falling into the linguistic trap when you say "British people moving to Europe" like Britain wasn't in the continent of Europe. Britain IS in Europe!! The island of Great Britain is now in a spiral of severe decline. Already there are some ex -Soviet states that have a higher standard of living than Britain, almost all EU countries have a superior health service, better education outcomes, faster, more reliable and cheaper trains and better infastructure for industry to thrive on, staff recruiting from 30 countries without paperwork, soon, or maybe very soon, all of Europe will have such a vastly greater standard of living than Britain, visibly so and then it will be impossible to fool the British population, however under educated they may be, and they are. At that stage, and with blue passports too expensive for the working class, visas hard to get, even more homelesness, despair and exclusion from normal life, that's when the 'small boats' will begin in the direction of France. Copy this and wait a short while, then congratulate me on my prediction coming true, in spades, by the way.
@genome616

What crap you talk, stop listening to EU funded echo chambers and look at the real economic data, the UK is doing just fine and its recent confirmation to become a member of the CPTPP has opened up full access to to a trade body worth 11 trillion with a half a billion consumer base, which is larger than the EU, all this and no political interference and tariff free on nearly all goods while preserving key industries of each nation member - you can keep your ring fenced tariff heavy and power robbing EU. PS, you claims are delusional and probably fuelled by EU funded propaganda, the picture you paint is the opposite to what is happening, we are already massively benefitting from restricting labour access to the UK, unemployment at its lowest on record and wages for the lower class are at the highest since we left the EU, its how the markets react to restricted cheap labour, it sources them locally and pays them more.
