Hi, I'm considering a few programs to get my ABA certificate in Los Angeles. I already have a Masters in Public Health, with a hospital background. Now I am looking into get my certificate so I can eventually get my BCBA~! Super excited!!! :)

Don’t do it ! You can work in hospital as a management or office works . You earn much better and much less stress! Don’t ruin your life 💕🙏🏻

I was going to text you , buuuut I am very close to applying to a masters program to be able to sit for my BCBA exam- am I crazy considering that I have worked as a paraprofessional in a special needs class but I don’t know anything about ABA but I am desperate to learn?! Do you HAVE to have ABA experience?

Try contacting a local autism clinic near you and see if they will let you observe or shadow someone to see what you think. And good luck in your decision!

The short answer is yes. you'll have to apply to a Master program that will allow you to make up fundamental courses as a conditional of admittance. Could be as little as three or four courses. I.E General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Research Methodology and Statistics if you did not already take Stats for your accounting bachelor degree. This can be knocked out in a single semester.

would you recommend getting experience as a RBT before applying to a BCBA masters program? I have 3 years experience working directly with adults with autism, just not with that title. I have a BA in psychology with minors in education and public health
