I recently acquired this with Impala Horn during the DLT weekend special sale. Have not gotten it out in the field yet. I am liking the light weight very much, I added a second sheath piggyback to carry my BKT Ultralight Bushcrafter, seems like a perfect combo and with sheaths all under 10 ounces.

Thanks for the review. From the Virtuovice review, this one did not scored so high, but it seems, that this handle does solves most of the issues being slippery. I might get the Bravo 1 LT but having already Bravo 1 3V I might skip the LT and try the camp with texturing. I believe that is the nice balance - even it does not look so big compare to Wako's hands - long knive with slippery handle is no go, but this handle is the key. Again, really enjoy your videos. I dig the camera and honest approach. Not to mention, that my Survive 4.1 is on its way to me - and thats thanks to your videos. Lets hope for more! Take care. Mike
Thank you for the kind remarks! The 4.1 and the C&T are currently my favorites. The 4.1 "feels" tougher in use, but I think it's because it feels denser, heavier for the size, like there's a lot of muscle packed into the body. I recently sold off a lot of my knives because my car died, but the 4.1 and C&T remain. I really do love them both. The C&T is only in A2, but I like that steel and it's great for stropping. The knife is really light IMO - Dr. Wako agrees - and the size is very useful, for me, maybe a bit more so than the 4.1. I love the Sheep Horn handles. They do offer some grip, but they are NOT sharp, so the traction will depend on the exact amount and depth of the ridges in the horn. I think this is kind of cool personally. Everyone is different, but I'm digging these scales and did like them in use. I wish there were more ridges near the thumb and index finger areas - toward the front of the handle - but it's not a big deal. Easily my favorite handle material from BRKT. I really hope you enjoy that 4.1 brother! Even in the saber grind it's good, but I like it even with the shallow convex I added. Killer steel. Cheers!
Not sure if this was for me or TLW, but since I've owned the three I'll cover it in brief. All three are SUPER blades. Vs. the Aurora, it might easily come down to design mostly. Aurora obviously has a spear tip and long, contoured handle. The Bravo is a thicker profile and feels more "heavy duty", but it is shorter overall and feels a tad heavier in use. For me, this is a great blend of geometry, length and beauty and why I like it so much. If it was a thinner handle in wood, for example, I may not like it quite as much. There are the Bravos in longer lengths, but I haven't tried them. All three knives you've mentioned are excellent IMO. The C&T with a 5" blade, geometry similar to the Bravo line, metal finger guard, and good handle make this a winner for me. The down side, at least the last time I checked, was this was only available in A2 steel, which is extremely good from BRKT. If you want 3V or Elmax, etc., you'll need to look in the Bravo and Aurora lines.

I have enjoyed your reviews but you need to add one more knife to your mix. Check out the EKA W12 in 12C27 stainless. It has a 4.7 in. blade and is full tang and should be better than the Helle GT. The EKA's are available from many vendors and even Walmart has them for less than $100 (special order). They are available in 3 different handle styles.
+K5KE Hello! I tried an EKA a while back, can't recall which model exactly, but I'm almost certain it was a W11 in Bubinga wood. Lighter knife and reminds me more of the Helle Temagami with the exposed tang up top and the wood contouring the finger area. It was ok, but I really didn't put it to task. I ended up selling it to a friend who liked the style. I do admire 12C27 though. In fact, I'm in the process of assembling an Enzo necker and Trapper 115 in that steel right now. Hope to test them in the coming months. The 115 Trapper runs $57 for the blade alone and I'll put some mosaic pins and custom wood on and it'll run me about $100 after all is said and done with the sheath. I did think the EKA box was pretty cool. I may revisit them in the future to try. Thanks for the input!
I wouldn't worry about it with things like bark removal, etc., but if it's a much heavier task you're needing done it could cause an issue I suppose. I've never had any issues with A2 and this is an awesome blade, but if you consider the longer, slightly narrower design vs other BRKT or blades in general AND the lighter feel, it makes me ever so slightly concerned about its strength vs a more robust blade. Suffice it to say, I don't like doing more prying than removing bark, etc. with any knife. I know this may sound rather non-committal, but I'm talking about what the knife feels like versus an actual hard core pry test. Cheers
Spencer Jordan Either the Camp and Trail or the Bravo 1 (not tried the LT). I also liked the Bushcrafter and think the newer Bushcrafter could be great too - the original was a tad small for me. The C&T has a slight edge in preference because it feels lighter in the hand. The B1 handle is superb though and the C&T lacks that contouring. Cheers!
