That's actually really good to know about. I am a Pot main and I really struggle with the Ram matchup. I basically lose if I ever get cornered, win otherwise lol.
As a new player, what I'm learning is that in general you shouldn't just jump unless you have a specific reason. You're very vulnerable in the air, even with characters that are meant for aerial moves. Jump with purpose, don't just do it for no reason.
Don't worry. Around floor 10 to heaven, he eventually stopped jumping too much. Now he jumps with a purpose and I can't deal with his j.S It's pain, I tells ya
I feel the need to contact that Ram player and let him know he can dash out of 214P to get an easy meaty after a sweep, he gave away all that pressure for free
Maybe he already knows that? I'm not too sure. All I know is that he's in heaven after grinding a bunch and I'm sitting in the lava floors dicking around, making memes
@@acquireTigris I just feel a weird frustration watching him not use that pressure, but its all good. You will get to those upper floors my dude, you got this.
Watching older footage of people who are learning the game do be frustrating, lol. But it's not like shouting at the screen will change the outcome. Just relish in the fact that you know better and that you can use that info for yourself or others if you choose to share. The knowledge alone is pretty dope
I've never seen someone get grabbed out of their wall splat like that. Freaking amazing. I'm a Ram main and even I'm not mad at how badly she got smashed.
ik this is a year old but i ran into a ram player just like this today. i was playing bedman and they had no clue how 6p worked and just kept dashing right into it lol
I couldn't tell u how many heat knuckles ive gotten on round start vs Ramlethal players... cuz its too many lol... I swear it's all the DBFZ players who moved to Strive and they know Ram has good air buttons so they always approach with air dash a lot
@@acquireTigris oh I didn't mean it insultingly dw, I just meant I can understand that situation and the frustration of jumping heavy slashing when intending to overdrive
Potemkin's had this move since forever. F.D.B., or Flick Dat Back, allows you to negate projectiles and flick your own fireball back at the attacker. Ramlethal's sword explosion is considered a projectile.
Also, F.D.B. doesn't actually stand for Flick Dat Back. There's no official definition for the acronym, and Flick Dat Back just sounds appropriate and funny
j.K and j.S are good tick throws on block. You can also shmix with j.K by jump cancelling on block. c.S is +4 on block so you can get some really good pressure off of just tick throwing, making block strings, or other funky stuff.
@@acquireTigris Thanks a bunch. I'm on floor 9 atm, mostly from bullying Ino mains by regular throwing into the garuda pressure. I need to crouch s more tho. One Pot I faced did foward k into grab on block.
No problem! I was at floor 9 at one point myself but am currently hovering at 8. 6K is -12 on block, but it does make for a decentish frame trap if you cancel it into Flick. Really slow startup though, so you can get jumped and punished for whiffing. Close S into crouching S is a good block string/combo string/pressure string. You can use that.
