BREAKING NEWS update: Lion King, Wicked, and Hamilton will be back on Broadway September 14th. I’m so excited to see the industry re-open and have people return back to work!!! I’m just a fan, so I can’t speak on behalf on the Broadway community. I also have no insider knowledge, so there might be answers that haven’t been made public- But this is sooner than I was anticipating & I’m nervous that there hasn’t been enough time for the changes that need to be made. I stand by what I said- I think the goal should be making Broadway more inclusive, diverse & accessible and that we can’t run back to the theater without fixing these first. These 3 shows lead the industry- so I’m looking forward to hearing their plans - because their response is going to shape theatre everywhere
Do you have any updates in the Beetlejuice tour? I found it late 2020 so I could not see it on Broadway. Can you see if the tour this fall is happening
I am so excited to see this news! It feels like the world is going back to normal. I don't live in the US, but the whole world will be back soon, guys. Just keep it safe for a little longer 💕 And it seems like the world wants more representation, we hope we see it soon. I am a latina actress and I want to move to the US so I hope this change gets make.
A few videos ago, I said that I am preparing to audition for the new Percy Jackson tv show and that day is getting closer. Whether I get the part or not, I want to thank this whole community for giving me self esteem
When Broadway reopens, I’m hoping to be there either for the first “Aight?” in _Hadestown_ or the first “Nants’ ingonyama bagithi baba!” in _The Lion King._

i already know the energy in those theaters on opening night is going to be so crazy high. like can you imagine being in the audience for hadestown any seeing andre de shields come out and ask the audience “aight?” after so so long? that will be so magical
My mom and I already have a list of what shows we wanna see and money saved for those shows. I’m so happy because going to see a Broadway show was one of things that truly made me happy and now that it’s all coming back makes me overjoyed
Omg I’m so glad Broadway is coming back😭🥺it’s almost surreal! My honest thoughts on it is this: I’m super duper excited for it to come back, I just hope that it is the right and a safe decision!

Y’AAAALLLL!!! Tomorrow’s opening night for my first show since last March 🥺 I’m so excited and emotional but also mildly freaking out because I’m playing a lead (aaaah) who is supposed to be played by a soprano (AAAAAAAH). I’m making it through but it definitely hasn’t been my strongest show vocally...sorry for the rant but I’M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK ONSTAGE
QOTD: What am I looking forward to this summer? Going back to the movies! Like, specifically, when In The Heights tickets go on sale, I'm getting them. And this is coming from someone with an HBOMax account, so I'm still gonna watch it, I just wanna see it in theaters first!
So, I live in Australia and it's currently winter... but one thing I am looking forward to is my school musical! Show week is next week and I have a featured ensemble role! (It's my first time being cast as anything but chorus.) So I'm very excited. Hope everyone else is doing well :)
YAY! There's so much good news! Praise the Lord for Broadway coming back. It's gonna bring so many people jobs and joy and ugh I can't. It's just so great.
I will say, I'm a bit sad this didn't happen sooner. I've been saying for a while that I wanted to take all my theater friends to a show to celebrate us all getting into college, but unfortunately most of them will probably be gone before September, when a lot of the shows are opening. We'll probably all be back around Thanksgiving or the winter holidays though, so that should give us time to see a show together
Perfect timing! I needed some good theatre news right now! I‘ve bought ticket to Hadestown for the end of August (I know very optimistic, but I won’t have the time to fly to New York from September till the end of the year), and the show just got cancelled, since Broadway will only open in September. But so nice to hear all these news! And to have a final date for Broadway to be back!

For the West End - 17th May: Theatres re allowed to reopen but with limited seating, whichever is lower: half the venue or 1,000 seats - if all goes well, we be able to fill the venues 21st June (but still wearing face masks) - They will see where it goes from there Booking information: Phantom is set to reopen 17th July Be More Chill will not return & Juliet is set to reopen 24th September Dear Evan Hansen has not specified it’s reopening date at this time Come From Away will reopen 22nd July Les Misērables will reopen as a concert 20th May, and will close 5th September to rehearse for the proper production which will take approx 3 weeks Pretty Woman will reopen 8th July at the Savoy theatre instead of the Piccadilly theatre Prince of Egypt will reopen 1st July And Cinderella will start previews 24th June, with opening night on 14th July (To name a few)
One thing that has to do with the re-negotiations is the fact that who’s still available for their roles. With broadway being shut down for over a year many of the actors have signed on to new projects so they can make a living, so many of their new schedules could interfere with their performance schedules. Plus many of their contracts have probably expired (if that’s the right term for it) because I don’t think there was anything about a year plus broadway shutdown in everyone’s contracts. Plus shows like Dear Evan Hansen and Be More Chill with leads that are teenage characters probably have to see who’s still believable as a teenager, so I’m guessing those two shows are probably gonna have some new actors when they return
I dunno if anyone will see this, but as excited as we all are about Broadway opening up again, we shouldn't forget the damage that has occurred and the changes that need to be made to the industry, especially in regards to the situations of Scott Rudin and Jagged Little Pill. If you're not aware of what's been happening, Amy Lovatt here on RU-vid did two really good videos about it. It's just really disappointing that most people, especially A list white Broadway actors, haven't been speaking up about these issues.

Oh my god! This is the most amazing news! While I’m personally not in NY, nor see Broadway shows because I don’t have the money, it’s nice to know the “big stage” is back! Just a small step towards musicals/plays becoming more available everywhere! Seeing bootlegs online and pro shots on Netflix and everywhere else should be enough! Nothing to restore my passion for life like the theater, life felt so empty without it and with everything going on, and this is just boosting me up to the best mood! Thanks for the great news! hey guys, our school just finished our production of seussical. i'm gonna miss all the seniors who were in it so so so much :( it was my first production at my new school, and the performing arts department is truly unreal. i loved every second of the production, and i got so close to the people in my cast. also, i got mic'ed!! i was a who in this production btw :)

My best friend and I are planning a summer Broadway movie/musical marathon and we have about 50 movies to watch! And I got an email yesterday saying I can finally buy wicked tickets again which is my birthday present for my sister so I am so excited!!!!
AHHH! All this exciting news and my school's production of Sister Act is premiering this weekend online! We basically did a pro-shot type thing with the vocals pre-recorded and masks :)
I was really excited to initially hear about a Come From Away movie since I was super interested in the show since I saw them perform on the Tony's (where I will always stand that they should have won more than they did!) but after seeing the touring production I wasn't sure how it would translate to film with everything being so fluid and cast members jumping into their different characters so quickly. As a result, I'm suuuuuper excited for the pro shot!
Glad to hear Broadway is opening back up! I live in Australia so I've been lucky to see a few musicals in 2021. I've seen Frozen, Rent, Fangirls(new musical that's Australian) & Hamilton. I'm going to see Hamilton another 2 times & then hopefully Come From Away & Phantom.

I know my local performing center/theatre has spent the closure renovating air flow and working out plans for the audience as well as negotiating with the touring groups. I’m in North Carolina, I think we’re getting wicked in September if I’m correct :) I’m excited to get to see theatre again!
