The stars of the Broadway smash hit Mean Girls discussed their experiences appearing on Broadway in Tina Fey’s Tony-nominated musical in an appearance at the Ann Arbor District Library on January 28.
Ann Arbor native Ashley Park (Gretchen) is joined by her fellow U-M alums Taylor Louderman (Regina) and Erika Henningsen (Cady) for this special evening.
Ashley Park received Tony, Drama League, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, & Chita Rivera nominations for her role as Gretchen in Mean Girls. Her Broadway credits include the roles of Tuptim in Lincoln Center’s The King and I (Grammy nomination), Sunday in the Park With George , and Mamma Mia! Off-Broadway credits include the role of Mwe in KPOP (Lucille Lortel Award Winner; Drama Desk & Drama League nominations). Ashley will soon be featured in the upcoming Tales of the City on Netflix. She is the recipient of the Actor Equity Association’s 2018 Clarence Derwent Award.
Taylor Louderman received a Best Leading Actress Tony nomination for this performance, as well as Drama League and Outer Critics Circle nominations and Broadway.com’s Audience Choice Award for Best Diva Performance. She was previously seen on Broadway in Kinky Boots, following her Broadway debut in Bring It On. Her TV credits include the role of Wendy in NBC’s Peter Pan Live!, CBS’s The Good Fight, HBO’s High Maintenance, and Nick Jr’s Sunny Day. Her Off-Broadway credits include starring roles at the Vineyard, Paper Mill Playhouse and The Muny.
Erika Henningsen previously portrayed Fantine in the recent Broadway revival of Les Miserables; Kim Ravenal in PBS’ Live from Lincoln Center: Show Boat; and Beth in Signature Theatre’s world premiere of Kathleen Marshall/Sheryl Crow’ musical, Diner. She has been featured opposite Tyne Daly in York Theatre Company’s staging of Jerry Herman’s Dear World; and has played Nellie Forbush in South Pacific and Sophie in Mamma Mia! at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. Erika is the recipient of Alan Eisenberg Actors’ Equity Award.
