I remember that was so crazy. I think that was fr the night wrestling died for me because with the Benoit situation coming out, shit really warped the reality of what wrestling is despite people always saying it’s fake
@@chiarenza451 Roman isnt a chief of a tribe as the society he comes from doesnt live in tribes anymore. I know Florida sometimes feels like a backwater, but there is actually modern society somewhere.
Brock gets a lot of crap for not caring about wrestling or not respecting it. But its that people take his character too seriously. He's defended wrestling a lot but never gets noticed. He may not have the love or passion as others do but he still enjoys it & respects it & he has a lot of friends in wrestling, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, The Rock. Its hard to do something you supposedly hate even if you're paid a lot. Coming from a life long wrestling fan yea its fake & people tend to overreact to that too because its still hard to do & you can be dangerous (Droz, Owen Hart, Pedro Aguayo Jr) but what people mean is the storylines, scripts, choreographed. I have friends who say its fake but still now not everyone can do it. What I do hate & have no respect for are these judgemental & "know it all" pro athletes & actors who bash it & the fans.
Its a live action stunt show. A fight scene live and in one take. To think it's not extremely physically demanding is ignorance. Everyone knows it's scripted. So is John Wick. Doesn't mean I wasn't invested in that dog any less 😢
Exactly. Obviously it's scripted in terms of the end result and sometime the punches thrown are fake or not given with full force, but try falling off a tall ladder, being put through a table or being hit with a chair and I guarantee you that will feel real.
@94fleetwood49 You actually believe they aren't editing parts? Sure karen. 🤣 That's already been proven obvious, when they did things like Undertaker seeing himself in a casket.
as a lifelong fight fan, i'd argue that pro wrestling is in many ways tougher than pro fighting. many of the basic stunts (falls from ladders, supplexes, piledrivers, etc) can easily break your neck, back and limbs and paralyse you for life. yet these guys do it week after week and on top of that, have to perform choreographed moves, scripts and emotions in front of a live audience. it's extreme theatre, and the elite guys like The Rock write their own scripts and create their own characters; these guys are far from the meatheads they're portrayed to be. to paraphrase Logan Paul, as a fighter you're only worried about that 1 guy across from you. and if you put on boring fights and you win, you can still have a career. as a wrestler you have to worry about the crowd. if you bore them you're out of a job.
@@yasirhaza916 Ha for years watching WWE, I thought that was just a gimmick, like most else: yet, when I had heard there was validity to it, I had to delve deeper into it. come to find out, he competed in powerlifting and strongman for a bit and was the original, first time Arnold Strongman Classic (AKA heaviest show on earth) champion. Not only that, but he destroyed everyone. It was fun to watch. Dudes world class strength is 100% legit and it's awesome.
Saying that Monday Night Raw is fake is the same as saying that Game of Thrones is fake. Its really stupid to say that a scripted TV show is fake...Like the whole point has just flown over their heads. You wouldn't say that Star Wars is fake because you would look like and idiot. But Star Wars like "Pro Wrestling" is the same thing. Actors and stuntmen following a script.
@@hellyahhh7590 ohh Yeah and what did uncle dana say? And how am i trying to make wwe and a movie different from each other when i just said its the very same thing? Perhaps you should read what i wrote again. Or are you just trolling?
Movies are fake. Tv is fake. People like those. Whats the difference? Its just when a non wrestling fan, who knows absolutely nothing about pro wrestling, calls it fake, most wrestling talents are going to take offense or feel insulted because of how hard they have to work. Its a constant grind and constant traveling. Pro wrestlers are injured quite frequently. Also, there are wrestling legends who have died doing what they do. So when someone refers to what they do for a living as fake, its quite appropriate to feel insulted. UFC fighters train and then fight maybe every 3-6 months i think? Some pro wrestlers are having matches almost every day. Some matches lasting 15-20 minutes with no breaks in between.
I really hope Dana was shown the video of Mick Foley being thrown off of a 15-20 foot cage onto a table then getting thrown into it, THEN getting dropped onto thumbtacks.
Dan Severn said it best. Out of all the belts he had from fighting to pro wrestling, the most pain he endured for a belt was the NWA belt. Getting thrown, throwing yourself every night at the ground is a rough way to make a living. Literally the hardest part of professional fighting is the training, and if you dont give your all it will show during the actual fight
I love the differentiation of "scripted, not fake." Pro Wrestling is the only sport I have ever seen where I guy finishes performing live with a torn quad, or with his ear torn off, or after being literally knocked unconscious. I have all the respect in the world for elite basketball players like Lebron James, but if he started bleeding like a pro wrestler they would stop the whole game. Pro wrestlers carry on. They deserve the utmost respect for their craft.
Vince is. His father has created a wrestling promotion, not the international juggernaut any of us watched or still watches. In fact, his father literally made deals directly opposite to what made WWE what it is (not buying out other territories), which pioneered every single thing we cherrish(ed) about the company. With all due respect for you and all disrespect i can muster for Vince (which is a lot) HE IS the pioneer. AND its revolutionary. AND almost its death. Just setting the record straight.
Mia khalifa did the same by calling pro wrestling as FAKE to thunder rosa. Then rosa asked her to try it out herself in the ring. Surprisingly mia khalifa accepted amd got in the ring. And then she got her shit rocked by thunder rosa like never before in her ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER OF GETTING HER SHIT ROCKED.😂 Her final conclusion was "IT'S F'in REAL".
I'd like to see any guys take a bump fall for 20 foot ladder set yourself on fire jump onto a pile of thumbtacks jump off the top rope get put through a table work out and practice for as many hours as they do go through years of training and precautions on how not to die
Not only that. But it's day in day out and constantly on the road, not just every 6 months or so. I think Jake the Snake (or someone else) said they used to do over 300 shows a year. Or maybe more, can't remember exactly.
@@SoftcoreStonerexaclty bro even a suplex hurts, the Ring isnt soft cushion its way harder then anyone thinks now imagine taking a suplex on the stage or better yet taking a frog splash from a 200 pound man or getting wacked on the back with a kendo stick or a real steel chair, every UFC fighter that has ever stepped foot inna wrestling ring always say its way way harder then anyone thinks
