That pocket presence is better than most of the QBs in the league. He knows when to bail, but it’s not panicky. He’s avoided so many sacks that Jimmy would have taken and turned em into big plays

I missed the preseason, so this is the first time I've seen his earliest Niners performances. Wow, how the heck did this kid go No. 262? Teams need to reevaluate what a "prototypical" QB is.

I watched some of his film before the draft when he was coming out of Iowa State! Really liked this kid and how he played! The way he moves around in the pocket and is shifty and can throw with accuracy. During the draft I was wondering who was going to draft him and I seriously thought he was going to go in the 3rd or 4th round. So the last day of the draft I was out and about and saw on my phone that the Niners picked Purdy with the last pick of the draft! I was excited but also shocked he was about to go undrafted if it wasn't for the Niners! Then watching him in preseason I knew we had something with Brock! I didn't expect him to be this good already this early. I thought maybe we'd see what he's doing now late into next season or something. But yaa, teams can't always expect to always draft a QB with just a strong arm.

He turned me into a niner fan, recently moved to AZ and this is his home. He’s got many here rooting for him. Imo we’re seeing one of the greatest if not the greatest story in nfl history unfold. You can’t root against this.

He’s solid but not special. Almost any qb in the nfl can make these throws easily. It’s crazy how wide open these players are in every single clip

It's more about his movement in the pocket to disrupt defensive plans. His receivers are often open because Purdy spends his time dancing around the pocket. He knows when the get the pass out quick and when to hold back until his guys are open. You think there's some sort of magic play calling that always have receivers open downfield? Like, other teams in the NFL don't know how to consistently cover receivers on known routes?

@@fcsuper fields extends plays like crazy and his receivers are never open. Keep in mid Purdy’s o line gives him all day to throw also. Again it’s easy when everyone is open and you have all day to wait for your guys to get open
