I can see the Brady comparison but not by accolades but more with late round pick no one heard of way over exceeding expectations and his natural instincts to read the defenses and make the right throws in a split second. So far it seems like he has Bradys elite decision making but his arm isn't as talented as Brady, when people say Tom Brady wasn't the physically talented type they seem to ignore his elite accuracy, deep ball and ability to hit his recievers with pin point accuracy between multiple defenders. Brock purdys arm is NFL average at best but his elite fundamentals and ability/ instincts to read the field and make the right throws is more then enough to balance that out and win superbowls against QBs like mahomes. All QBs rely on a team effort to win but what made Tom Brady the GOAT was the fact he was elite at the fundamentals, reading defenses on top of having an elite arm that could line drive the football between defenders and hit his mediocre recievers in tight coverage, not to mention his drive and ambition to dedicate his life to always finding a way to get better and study his opponents. Yes Brady needed more help his last few years then years prior but you can't judge his career in 40s alone to mahomes , you have to watch him in his prime where he made back up recievers put up superstar numbers

Not only was Purdy and the Niners down during Raider game last year but the first half of the Rams game. Rams were leading 17-10 with only 1.45 left and Purdy Marched down field and punched in a TD himself. He tied it up before the half with only 1 second left on the clock.

The difference between Brock Purdy and Dak or Wentz is Dak and Wentz had great season because of their athleticism and big arms. Purdy is balling because his awareness, pocket presence, and command of the playbook is excellent. Those talents don’t fade with age or injuries like athleticism does, they actually improve. I’m begging these guys to watch the taps instead of highlights.

Nick's said some disrespectful things about Purdy in the past, but this isn't one of them. The odds are on his side in terms of whether Purdy can maintain this level of play and that's the only point he's making. There are many ways to fall short in the NFL. What I do object to is using his first year against him. One thing none of those QBs being mentioned had to do is come in as the 3rd string.

@@TeeJayYuki Kyle’s had A LOT of QBs. None of them, save Matt Ryan (whose style was completely different) looked like this. Kyle ain't the one out there throwing dots. Kyle ain't the one delivering strikes while staring down angry 300 pounders coming at him full speed. Kyle ain't the one out there deciphering complex defenses in a split second and making the right reads. Kyle ain't out there throwing with elite accuracy and anticipation. And the scary part is, Brock is continuing to get better 😳🤯 But like I said, it’s ok. Not everybody knows what they’re looking at 🤷🏽‍♂️

The Purdy hype is absolutely not “too high”. He plays nearly perfect football. Doesn’t matter how much of that is due to the system or the talent around him, if he keeps this up the 49ers are basically a shoe in for the NFC champions. People wanted to see how he would do against an elite defense, and what do you know, he dropped 42 points on them on Sunday.

People were still running wide open because the run fame was such a threat that forced the cowboys to stick in cover 3. He was still throwing to open guys most of the game. Dallas had yet to play even a non top 10 drafting team yet.

Matt Schaub, in his first 11 games in the invincible Kyle Shanahan system in 2008, went 6-5 with 15 TDs and 10 picks. He never led the league in passer rating, he led the league in passing yards in 2009, also coincidentally in passing attempts. Matt Ryan was 8-8 with 21 TDs and 16 picks in his first year in the invincible Shanahan system, and had made the Pro Bowl 3 times prior to Shanahan joining the Falcons in 2015. Brian Hoyer had a similar 7-6 record with 12 TDs and 13 picks in 2014 in his first year with Shanahan. In other words, none of these QBs had anything close to Brock Purdy’s success in their intro to Shanahan’s system, and using them as some kind of comparison for Brock is just an insult.

Literally no other QB in NFL history has accomplished even 1 of those over any 10 game stretch. Purdy's doing it all

Also if you wanna talk about the offsides call, how about how he was only in the game that long cause the refs called ticky tack holding on a play where the Patriots forced a turnover and wouldve had the ball at the Chiefs 30 with 3 minutes left. I actually like the fact no one in the media can see what every 49er fan sees during every game. They don’t watch the game , they watch highlights and say “yeah anyone can do that” … our team has been drafted from scratch and we’re thriving this year because we actually have a legit QB. If their talking points had any credibility it would be “Jimmy G did that, Trey Lance did that “ except they didn’t … purdy is a force to reckon it and all of our veterans see him as a top #1 leader of our team.

My biggest thing for purdy is, he hasn’t done it for that long, and the biggest thing for me is, we’ve never really seen him play from behind. Niners are so good that he doesn’t have to play from behind. What happens when they don’t have a lead. What happens if things aren’t going his way.? Anybody can play with a lead. @@mattL---I really don’t get the “he hasn’t played from behind so we don’t know how good he is” argument. To play from behind means that he needs to have had a lapse in quality at the start of the game. I would think it’s a sign of skill that you can play at a high level and dominate your opponents from the very start and not let up until the game is done, rather than fumble around at the start and then suddenly have a burst of quality at the end to save your skin. Comebacks make for great drama, but in my view they happen due to a lapse in skill, rather than an abundance of it.

If the “team” was the “force multiplier” for Purdy, he wouldn’t be such an upgrade over Jimmy Garopolo, which he IS. Why do people not look at the tape? Just look at what he does? Most of the guys Nick compares to Purdy that looked so great under Shanahan never put up the tape that Purdy has put up. You can analyze the stats and compare, but, that’s not football, what we see on tape IS football. The problem is that Nick doesn’t understand what he sees on tape.

I go by what I see. I’ve seen all the quarterbacks that played under Kyle Shanahan. What I see in Purdy’s is different. It’s different than Matt Shaub. It’s different than Matt Ryan, it’s different than RGIII. It’s different than Jimmy G. He is playing at a higher level than all of them did, he’s making plays that are better than what all of them did. His knowledge of the NFL game is growing rapidly.

The difference is that Purday’s 10 starts are split between his rookie year near the end of the season, and going into his second season. That’s a major difference because it tells you that no matter how much gameplanning teams make against him, he comes out on top! There is more than enough tape to game plan against the kid, and he always surpasses expectations.

The point Nick has been making, and what Mangini said are that the team around Purdy is so good that he hasn't had to do some of the things that we credit great quarterbacks for doing. The easiest example is coming back from behind. So when you say Purdy comes out ahead, they would probably counter with Purdy and his loaded team always come out ahead. You haven't really seen him without that support yet. It doesn't mean he hasn't done great with his situation.

I will say this much. I'm a 51 year old Niner fan since '81. Watching Purdys nuances, results, playstyle, and just all around eye test, he is ABSOLUTELY starting to remind me of Montana. This is coming from a guy thats seen them all, and wanted Lance to start. I don't say it lightly. It's actually becoming eerie to watch, in a good way.

Let me remind everyone that there was a lot of trash talking before the 49ers played the cowboys and both teams thought they were good enough to win. Brock Purdy played absolutely phenomenal against the cowboys, all while making his presence known. Purdy put points on the board throwing the ball. He didn’t have to absolutely rely on CM to run all the time. Purdy is good 👍 Also side note they didn’t mention Mahomes has played from behind numerous times. He’s extremely good at playing from behind, probably gets off on it

Brock Purdy is currently a top 5 QB. He will be shooting to #1 before you even know it. What Purdy did to Cowboys elite defense speaks volumes about Purdy's game. The progression you are seeing from Purdy is unbelievable. Problem with wanting to see Purdy come from behind, is his defence would have to fail. That's not something I can see them doing all to often. So if Purdy scores early, it's hard to come from behind with a defense that sees failure as a non option 🤷

When you put up 17+ points every first half, it’s hard to fall behind. Brock’s only been behind for 1 minute and 45 seconds this season. Of course, during that 1:45 he immediately led a 2 minute drill game tying drive just before the half, scoring on a QB sneak as time expired, but according to coach and Nick, that doesn’t count.

6:55 another just wild example of KC bias from Nick and it's getting really tiresome. The fact is that Broussard is absolutely, unequivocally correct and Nick is wrong when it comes to Purdy hype. Mahomes went to one of the most advantageous possible positions for a QB in NFL history when he was drafted. It's absolutely impossible to argue otherwise, so his assessment that Purdy's position with the Niners is the only reason he's playing well is wrong by his own logic.

Brock and Dak's First Few Seasons aren't even close , regardless of similar Stats . Brock Purdy has Traits of Tom Brady , Joe Montana , and Eli Manning . Dak has Traits of Mistake Making Kordell Steward Or Tony Romo . Brock Purdy has actual Championship Winning potential . Dak doesn't have a Championship Winning Level .

All I can say about Purdy is watch the tape! He shredded the Dallas defense like it didn't even exist to begin with. Joe Montana and Steve Young never was able to put it on Dallas like Purdy was able to last week. At the end of the regular season Brock Purdy will put up a QBR and some other numbers the NFL has never seen before. If Purdy is a system QB then Joe Montana was also. Go Niners! #13

What quarterback has success with a bad coach and no talented teammates? To use Purdy’s coach and teammates against his actual skills makes no sense. Never trailing in a game is a comp? Purdy will never get the respect as a Great QB. If he stinks they would say negative things. He balling and they are saying negative things. As a 49er fan I love it because our team is using this as added motivation. It allows them to stay humble to prepare for greatness weekly. We will never overlook any opponent because of this. Great Job! Please don't stop!
