Drill the old one out and use a tap and dye set to make a new thread then just use a threaded bolt, done it a few times over the years as a plumber, that looks a mess

Looks like a good fox for some of these rrally old rads. Do you rekon it will hold? All the people hating on bere probably have never had to do something on a budget or had someone try to sell them a full system re fit because of one old rad. I think it's great for landlords, people on a budget or anyone that knows they'll upgrade their system in a few years and dont want to spend. It's not suitable for cast iron radiators in my opinion, but old steel rads yes

Good question, i would say no. Cast iron is thick and tough personally I wouldn't attempt it. Cast iron radiators were great because they retain heat due to the thick metal especially the old ones

You can likely close the radiator valves check that they're off. Then drill out the existing bleed valve with a smaller drill bit made for metal. Replace bleed valve with a new one.

I wouldn't be willing to fit these. Just pleasing a greedy landlord doesn't benefit anybody

They've already spent £600 fixing the heating, installing 4 new radiators in tenants rooms. So many Landlords are selling due to higher tax and law changes, if they can save that's good. Less landlords means higher rent for everyone else. I think sometimes it's ok to help them as they're essential for housing and for businesses like myself
