Glad the repair job was an easy fix. My happy place, I would have to say is my deer blind, just before sunrise. Daylight is just creeping over the horizon, you can just make out the frost on the ground, my heater is going, the steam from my coffee is swirling around. It is so quiet and still you don't dare move. In a few minutes you will start to hear the first birds start to chirp. When it starts to get a little lighter the animals start to stir, you spot a rabbit taking a few hops, turkeys are starting to come off the roost, through the early morning mist you can see a few deer moving. You grab you binoculars, it's "Tripod" the three legged doe and her twins. This deer is famous and a legend around our parts (The Texas Hill Country around Junction) and we leave her alone. Been sitting in that same blind doing the same thing since around 2002, never gets old.

That Malibu sounds so good. Well done!!!! Your cousin's rendition of what skiing means to her on the lake gave me chills. It was amazing. My family has a cottage on a river that has been in our family since the '30's. We have been going there for the summers since I was born. We continue to use it to this day w/ our extended family, as my mom is one of 8 kids. Thank you for the memories!!!!!

I had a 19 foot Sea Sprite boat that I loved going fishing on the pond I used to live on here in Maine. My dad and I used to fish on Lake Michigan when I was a kid in Illinois. He loved to fish and we made some memories on that lake. He's been gone 20 years this September. When I was on my boat, I felt that he was with me and the love that I have for boating and fishing that I got from him. I love the boating and family videos. Cherish that time and make the most of it. 😁👍❤️

My happy place is Lake Anna in Virginia. A couple of us cousins from Pennsylvania meet up with several cousins from all over Virginia (all our Uncles have passed on...) we meet up 2 or 3 times a year down there, bass fish, sit around the fire telling stories and jokes and fish tales and lies, play poker, just have a good time together. Like you guys, it's all about staying connected with family.

Had a 22ft Malibu Wakesetter for 5 years or so. Loved it! Had the Monsoon engine with fuel injection and electronic ignition. Flawless - not a single issue with it. Probably ran it 300-500 hrs. Tapped off water pump to fill fat sacks. Had hot and cold DIY shower. Awesome boat.

At 68 years old, I have add a lot of fun on my boats. I always wanted a pontoon boat, late in life, bad knees. But my son, 48 years old beat me to it and bought one. He said that it was his turn to take me and mom on his boat. I guess he is the "captain" now!!! lol Love your all's videos, regardless of the mode of transportation.

I I've forgotten until I saw this an brought back good memories

Our sons have memories like those on our local lake. They are both grown now, and moved on with their own lives so last year we sold our SkiSanger. It was sorta sad, but time to move on. If the grandkids show an interest later who knows, we may buy another, after we move into the forever home... Enjoy the place you are in your lives...change is the only constant in life. My "place"...out in the high desert of Northern Nevada, at the crest of a huge sand dune where the sand is sculpted into incredible shapes being out on the dune early in the am and remembering those I love who have gone before us...listening to the wind...or...20 odd miles from there ,at the crest of 7500 ft mountain in a Juniper forest, where the smells after a thunderstorm are just incredible, watching the sun chase the storm away, and my wife of 41 years and I enjoying a few moments together as the sunset starts to give way, then jumping in the Turbo S and scooting down the hill and across the desert to camp, listening to her giggle as the suspension unloads and loads up over a hill..then camp, and a Elk Steak on the BBQ, and around the fire with friends. That'll do it.

That’s the nice thing about being mechanically inclined. You were able to fix the boat for less than $20 and quickly instead of pulling it out of the water and having it sit at a boat shop for months because they’re backed up and then shelling out $150 or so for a rotor replacement. Boating is fun and far less stress when you can fix it yourself.

My boating days are over, but the last one I had set happy place memories that will last a lifetime. There was another couple that would join Carol and I on a regular basis for the weekend. The boat was a 36' Trojan cruiser - a 1965, built of Philippine mahogany. What a beauty! We'd wait until around midnight, after the day activities, and go out when the lake was like glass. Set the throttles to a tic above idle and just amble around with the stereo playing, dancing on the aft deck or just watching a million stars. It was grand. [Grand Lake O' The Cherokees, Oklahoma] Glad you have the boat and family to make your own memories.

Every one of us got up first time and skied the entire bay. We were all skiing by 9 years old and single skiing by 11yrs old. Now I'm 55 and we have a different Bach but still ski every now and again and we now have a grandchild who I can't wait to get out on the jetski with me. I love your enthusiasm. You asked about a happy place. Many years ago I went through one of the hardest things in life to go through. Two weeks into the hell I bought a motorcycle ( I've had many ). The second I got out on the road all the hurt stopped and I was free and at peace. I was enjoying every second of it and the scenery around me all the while paying attention to my surroundings. The only other things in life that does the same for me is the fact that I'm an Artist and Professional Photographer. I can immerse myself into it for hours and block out the world around me combining the two.

To answer your question at the end, my family is from Arkansas so they too grew up fishing on lake Ouachita, since the 40s after WWII. My grandfather would go with his fishing buddy and they would bring home like two giant green coolers full of catfish. Then he would spend the rest of the day filleting fish, the we would make a big feast eating fried catfish and casseroles. He also took me fishing down on the gulf. Right between Destin and Ft Walton Beach in Florida there is a stretch of road that connects the two with no buildings on it and its covered in sand dunes. We would pull over and fish that spot and since no people were in the water we would catch all kinds of fish. Everytime we went there was this GIANT 6ft tall stork that would come. Every year we would go and I would turn around there he would be. Always startling me because he was so quiet. He never missed a beat. My grandfather said that that bird came even when he was young, so we he around 70+ years old. He called him George. There is just something about fishing the surf on the beach. It's not the same on a boat or calm water. That is my happy place. After the ridiculousness of this year and last year I made a promise to go as I have not been in about 20 years. I know George won't be there but there is still a tiny part of me that hopes he does show up, even if its another stork.

When my daughter's job was real stressful I talked her into surfing with me after work in the summer months. I'd drive up to pick her up & we'd go to Doheny regardless of the forecast. Riding is nice but so was just floating in warm water, when it was almost flat, waiting for waves to come through. Also like making carving turns (or trying to;)) on snow skis on uncrowded slopes. Until I read one of the other posts I had forgotten how freeing a motorcycle ride can be. Got to get the old bike out! So there's a number of things but they seem to center around things like your cousin said where you have to be in the moment - focused on what you're doing - forgetting about everything else. Glad it was a simple fix but odd failure..... Bad materials or something else going on in there? Thanks for sharing your beautiful trip!

My grandparents lived on the Arkansas side of Bull Shoals lake in the 70's- 80's . We went there every summer. My grandpa would take us boating for the day. You could boat, water ski for miles. My grandpa was a wiseguy and he would try to wipe you out now and then, my grandma would get all exited, and yell "Rolly cut that out, are you trying to get him killed!" My grandpa would quietly snicker, and say yes dear. It was a lot of fun boating, and exploring the woods in the Ozarks.

Great content guys, well done on the fast diagnosis. If only all breakdowns were as simple to diagnose. Appreciate your hard work keeping us entertained. Looking forward to the next one.

I'd be replacing that whole ignition setup. Looked a bit crusty to me.

I worked a few years with a marine mechanic on everything from inboards to 160 foot mega yachts. The sound of mercruiser V8’s cranking with a no start situation gives me nightmares. A lot of the time the fire system would have an electrical fault which would cause the no start. In Australia, most of the mercruisers are on salt water and rusts the hell out of the manifolds and risers. Change your seawater pump impeller regularly and watch your heat exchangers for blockages and save over temperature faults and failures. Good channel.

Old guy here, skiing the California Delta in the 80s and 90s. Nobody skis anymore. All wake board or wake surf. Nice to see somebody ski!

l started going to Rockport Tx in the 60s as a kid to visit family. l went there a couple times a year until the mid 90s. For whatever reason the once global Tx seafood industry started to die then and is now sadly decimated. l went back several years ago and knew then l had to find a new place. Rockport was magical until the 90s and something changed. Blue crabs, red fish, shrimp, oysters, sea shell shops etc all dirt cheap and now all gone. l feel for people that go to the area now on vacation knowing what l and the old timers there know. Love your channel.

We used to have a summer cabin in northern Minnesota on a lake that was 9 mi long and a mile across water so clear you can see almost to the bottom spent many many many hours water skiing All Summer Long.. I've had race boats and jet boats and race skiffs and you name it if it had a engine on it I had it, growing up as a kid.. but the best part about it was being able to wake up before the sun came up jump out the boat with a thermos of coffee and go anywhere I wanted to and anchor and fish... And remember a boat is only a hole in the water you throw money into... LOLOLOL

My " Paradise on Earth " is a small cove at Five Finger Point, Squam Lake , New Hampshire . I have been going there for 30 years or more. This cove was featured in the 1982 movie " On Golden Pond " with Henry and Jane Fonda and Katherine Hepburn. About ten feet deep with crystal clear water ( Spring Fed ) and surrounded on three sides by forest owned by the University of New Hampshire. A great place to swim and picnic on the boat.

Our family has owned a place at a place called Grace Lake in MN since 1934. Spent every summer there. My oldest brother owns the place now but whenever I visit all the fantastic memories come flooding back and such great memories.

My favorite place to go is lake texoma on the okie side. My grandparents bought a lot on the lake in 1959. It took years to build the house and all of their grand kids were involved in some way in the construction. But during that time and long afterwards we enjoyed fishing, skiing, and camping there. Many wonderful memories.

I am in the process of doing a top end overhaul on my bro-in-law's 20' Spectra boat, has 1970 Chevy 454 LS6 engine w/427 heads(the good ones), had to pull heads and get a full valve job done, replaced all intakes and 2 exhausts due to heavy varnish from.......guess what? Bad gas! It caused one of the huge 2.19" intakes to bend from being glued shut from varnish from bad fuel, and gorped up a brand new Holley 850 marine carb($$)with what looked like scrapings from an outhouse. Many other things wrong from being stored for several years near the ocean in So.CA, starter, alternator and distributor were all junk from corrosion and sitting. Trans blew up 2nd trip out, thankful the v-drive is stout! Hoping that your Malibu just needs fresh fuel, or something simple, and not much else! Enjoy your boat time irregardless, we did yesterday out here at Lake Havasu where I live! It is our happy place and the marina is about 5 minutes from the house here! So nice to hit the lake when it is 115+ outside in our desert in AZ! Keep up the good video content! Thanks so much! (I see you had a bad rotor, good idea to keep a spare cap/rotor on the boat!)

After almost kicking the bucket over a botched appendix thing.....I bought a 1973 Road Runner, fixed it up to be reliable enough to run all day and spent 3 years driving around the country. My "Happy Place" was in the driver's seat of that Road Runner.

Loved the video. I used to live Stuart Florida. Bath tub beach, a coral reef in the shape of a bath tub. Was my quiet place, BTW it would make a great video area for you to film. Excellent fishing area too. Now on west coast, Punta Gorda, peace river park is my quiet place. Mobility issues from accident hold me back a bit. Let me know if want to go to bath tub beach, love to see you. Just a thought. Kenny.
