Thanks again for checking out my video. Hey what's going on Rich, doing a quick video for you. I wanted to show you how to take an Xbox one controller apart. First thing you want to do is you want to take the battery cover off in the back. The other thing you're going to need to do is pry these two side panels off. So it might take a few tries. but once you get this in here like this, just put your pry tool in there and then you should be able to pull it off to the side. You can either keep the sticker the way it is or you could try to gently take it off. If you're actually careful about it you can get it out like this. I got a few the screws out already. There are five altogether. You have one here, two, three, four, five. You can use a flathead screwdriver if you don't have the Torx bits. Just take your flat-head screwdriver and stick it in there like this. and the top plate will come off. If you do need to work on the d-pad just lift the whole inside out pop the back off like this. Pry this off, it's very easy they'll come right off. Then just push up on it the d-pad, it will come off. There's going to be three plastic clips sticking out and then there's going to be one two. Take one on the bottom, that one always has to go on the bottom. It won't work unless you put it back in like this. As you can see this is like a brand new controller. So if you're having a problem with your d-pad like I am, once you get this piece out right here which is the retaining clip for the dpad, then you want to bend these in like this. Once you have your tabs bent down like this on the retaining clip make sure the d-pad is centered and the one with the clip on the left side is on the bottom. Hold the d-pad down like this to put it on the bottom like this. Start it on the bottom and then just push down on it. Once you get the top on, you’ll feel it. You just push the top and clip that on. And that's it! Now your d-pad should be perfect because it has more pressure on it. Put your controller back in like this so there shouldn't be any gaps anywhere around the controller. So we can take our Torx screws and start putting them back in. We have to put one in here one in here, one here and one in the bottom. Once you get all your screws put back in you can take your sticker and just push it down like it was never even opened. You just put the sticker back the way it was and looks perfect.Take your grips put them in on the outside. First like this then just angle it in, you'll hear a click. Now that our batteries are back in, put the back cover on and we should be good to go. The d-pad feels perfect at this point and everything is working.
