This is the same power antenna that is used on my 2000 Toyota Camry Wagon. I was about to do this repair myself. Watching your video confirmed what I need to do. Many thanks pal !
Great video. Also accurate for Nissan Navara d22. You were right, wheel off, inner trim off, aerial out. Refurbed on the bench. I found the antenna had rusted into the aluminium mast part. Took a while to get it off but once off it was straightforward. Really appreciate you taking time to do this.....
Thanks mate....but in the end the only way I could get it all apart was by cutting the mast at about 6”, then sizing a drill bit to fit into the mast stub then grabbing hold with the vice grips, further whacking them upwards with a mallet....eventually the mast pulled out.
Thanks for that I will be doing the same to fix our one. Was the part just a generic part or did it come from Nissan? Its a shame they are put on the left side of the car. the next time you go to park next to a tree on the side to the road the aerial brakes again. I was thinking of putting a rubber stubby in instead.
