Broken Jeep Gets Repaired

Had a customer call from the campground that their jeep was having issues they believed were coming from the transfer case. We ran up with the new wrecker and grabbed the jeep and brought to the shop. Upon inspection we decided the noise was coming from the rear differential. We pulled the cover and found the problem. We cleaned the whole axle and installed new gears and chromoly axleshafts. Had them back on the road in a couple days. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.
Shirts are up on www.trailmater.com. We are trying to catch up on stock but they are selling fast. So if sold out check back and we are working towards larger inventory. Thank you everyone.

I know a guy here in Astoria Queens NY that does so many Jeep lifts and mods that he throws the almost brand new parts in a dumpster , control arms, shocks, you name it! He's doing 60s on mall Crawlers! But he just throws out all the old shyt, last time I was there had to be 20 sets of red Rubicon shocks and track bars, just everything! I'm also a hoarder so my friend has banned me from taking anymore parts home, Great work guys as always and that diff was all sorts of fudged up! I wonder who put that together? 😆

I have watched Casey LaDelle's videos and he's a big proponent of using the wheel dollies to drag that back end with less risk to a vehicle that is already compromised. The damage may have already been done in this case, but if the gears threw one of those bolts through the diff cover or worse while it was in your care, it could have been much worse. Casey makes it look so easy with his Collins Dollies it would definitely be a wise addition to Ole Blue.

I can hear the armchair criticing warriors warming up their keyboards already... That's why I like your channel its honest and humble and not afraid to show some less than perfect practices....and the more tools you have in your arsenal the more jobs you can do..love the new wrecker..and the overly patriotic jeep in the workshop...keep em coming, we love watching your channel. I get called a hoarder too, hate the word, but I'm the first person people come to when they want something at a good price...I think of myself as a "conservationist" of needed parts n stuff...(hoarder callers attract a special tax when they come to get stuff.)

Rory. I worked at a differential rebuild shop. I've done MANY sets of gears. THE best cleaner for 90w and gear oils. Shampoo. Cheap dollar store stuff. In a spray bottle at 10% soap to water. But afterwards u gotta spray everything with wd40 so it dont flash rust.
