Welcome to Season 4 Episode 8 of my Let's Play series here on the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft! We are playing in the new 1.18 update with a death counter and in hardcore mode! Today I brave a Nether fortress to get some Blaze rods and then after Mike gives me a tour of his cave base!

But Mike is behind you by like 2 weeks!!! Although the Spawn Proofing got done. YAY! So a Bee Farm. Please do not confuse Honey Blocks and Honey Comb Blocks. Raid Farm is next, and a Possible Zombie Converter Tank with Axolotls. I wonder if it will work? Axolotls also target Guardians, but I don't think they target any of the Land based Hostile Mobs.

Yes, Mike has been really busy with work so his episodes are a little different. But, together, the episodes work out in the end! 😅 And yes, I don't usually confuse honey blocks and honey comb blocks. ... It was just a slip of the tongue. Can't do much redstone with honeycomb blocks. Lol! Mike does have some interesting ideas. He did the initial work on the moss farm and it worked out beautifully. It will be interesting to see if anything comes about from the Axolotls and healing. 👍

Yes, lots of plans in the works! And those Blaze - Glad I got a few Blaze rods but it was also pretty deadly too. A Piglin got me when I went back. It jumped in front of my arrow as a was shooting at a Blaze.... and then got upset at Me about it! 😅 smh!

I am almost positive the only way to completely turn of blaze spawners is with glow stone completely encasing the spawner. Though all those torches did seem to slow the spawn rate down. Tbh, that is pretty much how I get my blaze rods when I'm in a single player world. The quick and dirty way of making a blaze farm, lol. I am very curious as to what Mike plans on building now... lots of iron bars?? Can't wait to see how all the plans shape up and come together this season.

As you know, Blaze have always been able to spawn in higher light levels. Torches all around do block their spawning. They only started back up after I knocked out a few torches. However, I was curious, and testing . . . since they changed and made it so that mobs only spawn in light levels of 0 now, did that extend to Blazes? The answer is no. Blazes still spawn in the light. And I really don't know what Mike plans to make with so many iron bars... I'm sure it will be interesting! 😀

@@VoidedandLost so then glowstone all around the spawner doesn't keep them from spawning? I've seen so many videos/streams where that was done. I just assumed it worked as I've never seen them spawn with the spawner surrounded. Interesting. I'm sure whatever Mike is planning with all those bars should be interesting indeed.

@@MustangGirl3374 Glowstone around the spawner would probably work. They do the same job as the torches. I just find the torches easier to take back out when I want the spawner to run again.

@@VoidedandLost certainly makes sense but I guess I was thinking that torches didn't work at all. Or at least not just putting them on the spawner it's self like you would with any other spawner. And I always thought glow stone had a higher light level than torches but being that you can achieve the same light level with more torches it just never occurred to me. It just shows my extremely limited knowledge of game mechanics, lol.
