Thanks for the “real world” content Josh. I enjoy your videos. Don’t knock yourself you are a natural - you will get more relaxed and comfortable with experience. You already have a leg up on 90% of other RU-vidrs as you actually know what you are talking about…
Love your intro. Speaking of introductions. Put your intro Tire, Rooster, and Wrenches small on the middle or left front of the shirt. On the back "The Fractured Rooster Garage" and I'll be one of the first to place an order.
The best thing on the channel is the fact, that you actually repair things instead of buying new stuff! Everybody can do that. It is quite character-building, and it is a healthy attitude! Thank you!
I came over from JR but I certainly like your more down to earth budget friendly builds and restorations. Your stuff motivates me to get out there and mess with something.
As with most other, I have always thought you should have your own channel with the knowledge you have. As soon as I found out you have started your own channel, I subscribed and have watched you worked out the kinks in the first few. Quality of video (audio?) is surely improving and there is good amount of content in each. Great job and please keep it up! And congratulations on being monetized. BTW, probably a good idea to wear some form of a mask so the glue won't stick to your lungs.... 😂
When said hidden surprise under the carpet, I was oooh me like surprises, maybe some more mushrooms! It turned out to be rust, me no likey that surprise.
Don't use Dynamat, it's too expensive, Use B-Quiet, same basic stuff but sold wholesale for aeronautic industry and way cheaper to buy bulk. I'm not a sponsor, just been using them for years... www.b-quiet.com/collections/all-sound-deadening-and-sound-dampening
You know I love your doing this on the cheap… Some channels just get carried away because they have the money they can throw at things Love the content
I had one also, an '87 or '88 I think. Bought it used and I think Ford and an issue with paint and it faded real bad and got white streaks on the hood. I really liked it though. Did t look like it but it had a buttload of room when you put down the back seats. I wish I still had it
And *_that_* kids is why they teach you in Chemistry lab in High School to use your hands to wave the air above the open mouth of a jar full of unknown checicals towards you to get a whiff, instead of sticking your nose into the jar. 😆
My first restore I did was the headliner in my 1989 Ford F150. It is a very satisfying restoration. It lead to me doing my sun visors, which were way more difficult, which turned out pretty good. I am now working on my 1981 VW Rabbit which has a sagging cross beam. I'm glad I watched this first before just sending my headliner.
I kept my old 1986 Ford Bronco lol… wife doesn’t know I still have it, hasn’t run in about 15 years! One of my retirement projects. Thanks s much for your videos Josh! There’s hope!
Very satisfying video with the headliner cleaning timelapse, and the super genius floor jack + oak for the roof. Excellent work. Congrats on getting monetized!
Thanks for the everyday man content. There's a lot of us who still just wrench on a tight budget. It's nice to see others do the same. I dont like watching rich people doing rich people stuff.
My father's 85 and later, his 89 B2 had the same issue with the weather stripping. The seal around the windshield isnt the best either and pinholes were common. The drip rails are supposed to help, but rust makes it a problem later on. One thing i highly suggest you get, are window deflectors, they help a lot with water and for the smoker's window. Great job on the headliner! While you have the interior panels out, its the BEST TIME to put in sound dampening foam inside, especially since the back of the B2 can act as a resonance chamber (or subwoofer) for road noise.
I rebuilt an 88 Bronco 2 from the ground up back in 2000. I had a silver one and bought a black one for the engine for the silver one. I ended up selling everything when I found out I had kidney Cancer. Ended up with no more cancer but chronic pain problem. Sold my boat and snowmobiles as well.
Great video!! Wicked smart you are, testing the front of the Bronco for water penetration into the cabin. My F150 is doing the same thing! Ugh! I suggest trying glass polish on the drivers side window before replacement. My assumption is other B/II side windows are scratched also. Practice makes perfect--it is kind of odd talking to a camera-but in time you'll think about it less. I just got done replacing the rear fuel tank pump/sending unit on my 89 F150. Removing the rear tank was easy--putting it back in---- a royal PIA !!!!!!!!!!! The factory pump was no longer working. I also replaced the main frame mounted pump as that was starting to fail-- low rpm on the electric pump motor. What you had to work with-- Fords cheapee design headliner pad-- you did a good job fixing it and then applying the headliner. Oh yeah my roof supports have broken away from the roof skin also!
I watch it all Josh…it’s great! 10K next month, 20k the following month. Your good, hard work and GREAT personality will take care of it - along with all of our help, liking, subscribing and sharing. Love it man, keep it up!
I had the same cracking issue with my 86 Fiero headliner board. Those are fiberglass though. The recommended fix for them is to patch the cracks with spray adhesive and pieces of cereal box on the back. Worked pretty well. Congrats on the channel!
thank you for this video! I just got a bronco 2 and im having so much trouble finding DIY videos to help me through the restoration process. Please post more!!
This was a great presentation and "how-to" video. As an amateur, I found this very useful. I have replaced the headliner in my 88 K car wagon (Aries), and also in a previous Plymouth Acclaim. They both had a solid but flexible board (in fact, on the Acclaim, I was able to flex it enough to remove it out the passenger front door). I think I used 3M Super 77 adhesive, but after around 15 years, I am getting some sags with my K car repair, so maybe the stuff you used will last just about forever. Your repair of this board has helped me - the door cards on my K car are sort of cardboard backing, and partly chewed up around some of the spring clips. Now I will try 3M vinyl tape to reinforce the area. So again, thanks for an excellent presentation.
My uncle would get thins strips of balsa wood or pine and varnish them or paint them, then glue them to the roof, then tack or glue the headliner fabric to the wood. It functioned as sound deadening and gave a cool ribbed appearance. But he takes classics and makes them fancier. Makes good money at it too if you ever want to try it.
A just found you tonight from a youtube suggestion so more to the monetize than figured. Wish any new person to the success that they are striving for. I usually watch Puddin fab shop or halfass kustoms, and everyone watches coldwar motors for one of the finest body fender paint and just plain good entertainment. I think that your coming along fine. I would of built my own patch parts for what little problems that you have on that but to each his own. I have soda blasted glass till it shined like new again. Works on headlights as well. so another notch on the list and a like as well
Great job on the interior reno. Rock Auto for the win! I love those guys. They keep my cheap beater goin' and goin' and now it's quite surprisingly reliable.
Great job! Keep it going. With every single episode the whole concept of recording and commenting while working in cars will come easier and easier to you. We are all cheering for you!
Check those rear side window seals. I used silicone sealant until i can source the new seals. My 88 BII has the one piece driver and passenger windows, may be from a Ranger. Great video...I remember gutting my BII , advice...put some more insulation in the roof...foam sheets from Lowes. My BII is black and the heat is brutal during the NC summer's. Awesome channel !!!!
Brother I'm glad I came to follow your channel, I really enjoy the vehicles you pick for projects! Not alot of people out there would give them a second thought! I really enjoy this bronco build because I remember we had a 1988 red and white 2 tone like your ranger. But it was a 5 speed instead of an auto, and like your ranger it had that 1980's ford porno red I think you called it interior lol
