To all of those saying that they were supposed to be endgame must have been watching a different TV show because it started with Lucas and Peyton so it would make sense to end it with Lucas and Peyton together but the reason, they took so long to get together was because they had to go through obstacles since, they were star-crossed lovers and Sophia Bush said that when she got the job that they told her that Lucas and Peyton were endgame and the writers said in the past that when Sophia and Chad broke up that they were in the middle of production and that they still had enough time to change the Brucas storyline by not having them get back together in the beginning of the second half of Season 3 but the creator told them when they started dating that he hoped that they are happy for the rest of their lives together, but that if they are not that he can't cater the storyline.
To me it’s just funny how for some reason he would say Brooke is the one and all that and as soon as Peyton needs him or is in trouble he is always their and I think they used their friendship as away to not deal with their feelings for each other . I’m not gonna say he didn’t care about Brooke cuz I think he did I just think that if he really thought she was the one he would know how to draw the line with Peyton and not hurt Brooke it’s as simple as that .
