Our students and staff in Broome enjoyed the town’s annual #NAIDOCweek festival on 21 June, joining with thousands of community members marching across town.
This year’s theme is ‘Keep the fire burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’, and local cultural and political leaders spoke about what this meant to them.
The festival also showcased Aboriginal singing and dancing, including a stirring rendition of the Warumpi Band classic ‘My Island Home’.
Broome’s march and festival is the biggest #NAIDOC2024 event in regional WA and #RCSWA is proud to participate in such an inspiring event.
