Such a great tip, and it is great to know that we distrusting people 🤣can actually trust the marks. Thanks so much, love your energy, you are adorable!
E&m videos are a lifesaver! I feel bad I haven't watched them in a while but I knew you wouldn't let me down when needimg to know my seam allowance markers.🥰 thanks Ny!
Girl, your hair is amazing. And of course I love watching your instructional videos, and the best part is that I was in the midst of ripping out a seam when this video came on. Thanks for the super easy ideas. You are the best and so funny and fun to watch.
We need more of your great energy! I just learned so much, and I had this serger for 3 years!! ( embarrassed to say, never knew about those darn seam allowance notches😖... Anyway Thank You!!
Thanks Ny! Measuring the seam allowance on my serger has always been such a guessing game for me. And then, taking out a serged seam...😣. This info is great! I Really appreciate your video(s).
I just purchased a 1034DX. If E&M patterns have a 1/4 inch seam, how does one line up the fabric to stitch it correctly, if the first notch on this serger is 3/8? Newbie needing help 😊
You are so helpful and adorable. I was wondering...you mentioned the 1/4 inch seam allowance but not how to find it, if I'm not mistaken. How do you make sure you're following the 1/4 inch seam allowance correctly? Thanks.
Thanks for the video I just bought this serger. Can I ask what pattern your top is it’s so cute? I also have the same waffle knit fabric but was afraid to use it for making a top, can I ask what type of contrasting gray fabric you used with it? I was curious how well the waffle knit would do on neck binding and cuffs, I’m fairly new to sewing with knits. Thank you for your help.
Got my FIRST serger for my birthday! Been overcasting on my sewing machine and it works, but took nearly 8 minutes to just do a knee length skirt with the floor to the pedal, so I’m excited. Anyway- unpicking- I’m terrified about fabric that’s cut off!!! 🫣
I take a tiny piece of blue tape and place it beside the correct seam allowance mark on the door so I can see it better. Then it is easy to reposition or remove as needed.
Loved this video! I’m getting a serger this week, my first, so I was curious as to how seam allowances work when serging and your video was perfect and exactly what I needed. Thanks!
I'm just a little confused. Isn't the seam allowance the total of what was cut off and the amount that is covered by the serged stitches? So if the serged seam left on your garment is 1/4 in and you cut off 3/8 in, you would have been making a 5/8" seam allowance?
OH MY GOODNESS, you are correct, I TOTALLY meant to word that differently. YES! You will have 5/8ths seam allowance because you have to include that fabric contained within the needles. I meant to say it that way and got totally turned around. GOOD CATCH! I will try to post a correction on it. Thank you so much!!! xoxoxo What would I do without quick eyes like y'alls??
