I like your profile pic, Amanita Muscaria aka alice in wonder land mushroom or mario shroom. I sell them for 5 dollars a piece and the cops can't touch me because it is one of the four only legal psychedelics. It contains no psilocybin just muscamol which is why it is legal and also hallucinagenic. I have people call the cops on me all the time and the cop just says oh sorry for bothering you and I'm trippin.
Jack Sparrow Naw, it's clear he learned his flow from Scarface. But he put that style to some proper hardcore lyrics. I'm a racist, but I'll give props where it's due: not many, white or Black, will focus their intellect or rage at the right targets. He does.
TheMattozzie its not, I only see it because i lived outside the country for a while, the world can see american foriegn policy first hand, americans can't. They are blinded by their media to ever care what happens outside their borders. And its that American pride (particularly in the republican party) that justifies anything we do. Bottom line its education.
TO EVERYONE WHO LEFT A RESPONSE WHETHER POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE YOU GOT TO RESPECT IT FREEDOM OF SPEECH.BUT NOTHING IS GOING TO GET DONE UNTIL WE ALL BAND TOGATHER AND TAKE BACK OUR WORLD FROM THOSE WHO SEEK TO DESTROY IT.
fuck a skin color if we share they same movement. your lyrical content i believe i have surpassed any person i've heard so far , even cats like pac don't reach this high, now keep in mind this is the first song i've heard from you . i just watch your freestyle on sway in the morning and had to checked you out asap. I'm not nut hugging or anything but you smash the five fingers of death. I'ma keep listening to your tracks. but whats so crazy about an artists like you and its sad because you'll never be able to fully make it in this game , dawg they coming for you, you know when they hear the truth and artists going against them, has the so called powerful being they run the show dawg, they can choose who they want to cancel out or promote if you aint doing their bidding you aint making a sound , your hype might be up , but your volume will most definetly be turnt down. but god bless you though , keep doing ya thing . ill support at least you know you got core fans .
Ali proves that race is really just a shade. But what disappoints me is that most is that Black rappers today won't even talk about this kind of stuff... but that wasn't always the case (Dead prez, P.E., tupac, mos def..)
But with a system that funds education and health care through taxation means families and individuals who are poor or less wealthy have the same opportunity, and care that the rich do
It's not as much progress as we'd think. New York is the most segregated school system in the US with blatant inequality, It was always like that and escaped the early days of integration because the legislation was specifically crafted to enable the northern school system to continue to be segregated.(The method is simple. neighbourhoods aren't integrated due to inequality so just maintain schools based upon local demographics) The southern states have within the last few years done a massive amount of backsliding on that front thanks to a random white parent undertaking a lawsuit over his daughter losing out on a spot because a black child got it instead. There was some early progress but that took a massive dive when the war on drugs started since it was clearly the war on blacks. Instead It targets blacks in this war involving military ordinance used upon civilians to remove the drug problem when all statistical data shows that whites are more likely to sell and use drugs. The inequalities in prosecution are ridiculous too. All of this leads to the disenfranchisment of the black man. Then they make it to the prison industrial complex reminiscent of the chaingangs of old where they are made to work for the profit of these prisons. This has grown so massive that we exceed the amount of people in the russian gulags while the soviet union still existed. Several years ago the FBI warned that the KKK and various hate groups were aiming to take control of leadership positions in law enforcement across the country. Nothing has been done since that warning and now it is a rarity to go a DAY without a (predominantly black) person killed at the hands of law enforcement. Children are now taught how to avoid being murdered at the hands of the police as a part of their curriculum. It is profoundly disturbing to me that we have "advanced" to the point that children have to be taught how to beg for their lives in school. I cannot understate just how messed up this is. Thanks to the power of this information age the moment we see a great many things anew. We read the newsletters filled with hatred and bigotry disseminated among major police forces. For some strange reason the college elite of America tend to sing with joy and exuberance about the virtues of lynching n*****rs from trees when they don't realize people can see them. Psychological studies show that this most recent generation is just as racist in their worldviews as they were 60 years ago and merely have different excuses for why things are the way they are. With all of this one might have to ask just what is different now? It's pretty simple. As long as you aren't caught saying an N word then everything and anything is perfectly fine. There were little concessions here and there but so long as you aren't openly racist you can get away with it. And that's how we have a racist/sexist/bigoted in ten thousand different ways pedofile conman in a position where he could legitimately win the presidency of the United States.
[Intro] Ah, the name of this song is Uncle Sam Goddamn It's a show tune, but the show ain't been written for it yet We're gonna see if Tony Jerome and the band can maybe work this shit out for me And straighten me out right quick I like it so far man Yeah Come on, lets go Welcome to the United Snakes Land of the thief, home of the slave Grand imperial guard where the dollar is sacred and power is God Lets do this shit for real, come on now [Verse 1] Smoke and mirrors, stripes and stars Stolen for the cross in the name of God Bloodshed, genocide, rape and fraud Writ into the pages of the law good lord The Cold Continent latch key child Ran away one day and started acting foul King of where the wild things are daddy's proud Because the Roman Empire done passed it down Imported and tortured a work force And never healed the wounds or shook the curse off Now the grown up Goliath nation Holding open auditions for the part of David, can you feel it? What you think happens to the money from your taxes? [Verse 3] Shit the Government's an addict With a billion dollar a week kill brown people habit And even if you ain't on the front line When massah yell crunch time, you right back at it Plain look at how you hustling backwards At the end of the year, add up what they subtracted Three outta twelve months your salary pays for that madness Man, that's sadness What's left? get a big ass plasma To see where they made Dan Rather point the damn camera Only approved questions get answered Now stand your ass up for that national anthem [Chorus] Welcome to the United Snakes Land of the thief, home of the slave The grand imperial guard where the dollar is sacred, and power is God Welcome to the United Snakes Land of the thief, home of the slave The grand imperial guard where the dollar is sacred, and power is God [Instrumental break] [Vocals: Mankwe Ndosi] (You're so low) Custom made (You're so low) To consume the noose (You're so low) Keep saying we're free (You're so low) But we're all just loose (You're so low)
This is real hip hop... They say 2 chains, Future, waka flaka, French Montana and other fake ass bubble gum rappers are real hip hop... Stop the fuking madness...
I heard this song in college (love the video I listen to the unedited track while i watch it) and it's so true. and still true. and will always be true until people wake up. I hate the idea of "TAKING THE COUNTRY BACK" from what? How about trying to fix it? Lord knows it's broken. Do right by each other or never expect change
***** Forgot to ever respond to this. Your third statement's true, but the first two are nonsense. Firstly, this does indeed do something. The fact that you felt provoked enough by me saying it does indeed do something to try and contradict me proves the point. It's provocative. It makes people take a stance and have a reaction. In a world full of empty, meaningless media, that is an accomplishment. If you think this does nothing, you just don't understand how art works. Sure, this one song won't save the world, but it will get many, many people to start thinking and feeling in new ways. That alone counts for more than enough. Second, people do indeed do things, but you've probably been to busy being all cynical and pessimistic to join them. Now, it's true that people hardly protest about anything that matters anymore in the modern U.S., but the answer to that isn't throwing up our hands and saying it's over. It's to rebel, and music a great way to do that. I hope I've made my point.
+Mikael Lundh von Leithner I am a bit of a humanitarian though I am white I am also mixed Indian I know of the injustices makes me somewhat ashamed and angry how shit goes
@LxNightriderxL No actually he is a white. I read it in a interview he did. But doesn't matter anyway because he is a dope rapper regardless of his colour.
In my opinion I found this song brilliant and most importantly a message that you don't typically find these days in rap. Yes we are blessed to be in America, but we as citizens have the power to have a say in what Ali is spitting in this song. Brother Ali is my favorite rapper of today for the fact that he doesn't receive enough attention due to his controversial lyrics.
the lyrics accurately paint a large part of the picture. the part not painted, is the remote possibility of a Bernie Sanders Political Revolution successfully doing something about it.
this has to be the most powerful rap ive heard in describing the evil empire that rules the world. well done brother ali. so well done and a nice tune to get your message across also. great job
This song seems so applicable in this day and age. It kind of upsets me when I hear people bumping this song yet they've never taken the time to actually listen to the lyrics and understand what the song is about.
Actually, you have to kind of have your shit together to get government assistance, it's a tough process. Most of the time, crackheads get money either by stealing people's shit, or they get it from friends and relatives directly.
The wird thing is how can a racist dude even listen to Brother Ali..? Please go and listen to something filled with hate..its suites yall more. I hope yall see the light one day..cause your living in darkness. hate.
One of the Minnesota emcee’s most popular tracks, this is a scathing political debasement of all that corporate America stands for. The song hits hard enough within the industry to get Ali kicked off a tour sponsored by Verizon phone company.. No surprise there................:(((
So just be Kymatic and none of the following applies cause the earth is NATURE first before Man . Come back to the Truth which is Natural . not man made...
Fight the manifestations of injustice by advocating for a change of policy through legislation, lobbying, litigating, media communication and organizing. Attempt to abolish the underlying injustice in the structure of power organize along revolutionary lines for the abolition of the institutions upheld by the bourgeois state, through whatever means necessary to achieve this abolition and the establishment of a participatory democratic society free of class and race hierarchies.
More platitudes and panaceas. The state and the economic oligarchy don't care what you *think*. They don't care what consumer choices you make or what lifestyle you live. This doesn't affect them. It doesn't undermine any power. If you content yourself live free in your mind, then you shall have just that- an imaginary freedom. If you want to actually remove conditions of oppression, you're going to have to do something beyond think enlightened thoughts.
This is a conclusion I came to as a result of working in the system and realizing we can do more to change the system by the way we live verses trying to use force or psychological manipulation to change people. How do you change someone who does not want to or see the need to change? Brother Ali is an amazing artist with a powerful message. However, I believe the real revolution is that of the mind and conscious elevation. You cannot be a slave to the system if you live free in the mind.
in the U.S.A 97 % of the people classified as poor own a color TV, three quarters of them own a car, three quarters of them have air conditioning, are u getting the picture I am not quoting these figures in order to deny that the poor people in the u.s. face difficulties. Nevertheless, for most , these difficulties are of different order than those those of the worlds poorest people 1.4 billion people living in extreme poverty are poor by an absolute standard tied to the most basic needs.
There is nothing wrong with "loving your country no matter what". There IS something wrong with "loving your government no matter what". The US population seem to view the USA and it's government as being one in the same, which is completely wrong and insane! We must question our government (BOTH PARTIES!) if we hope to have a future.
Bitching is pretty central to changing things. How do you expect to bring about political and social change, without *talking* about the things *wrong* with the current order of things? That *is* 'doing something'- it's not the end of what needs to be done, but it sure as hell can't be skipped.
Some times I think about if Ali was around in the 60s and gave this speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. People would have lost their shit... I mean, they did... but even more so.
@wakawaka12328 I know he's white and he considers himself black though as they are the people who accepted him as the white people rejected him so he feels black :P I do know about him :)
When did I ever say that my country was superior? The United States of America, whether you like it or not, is a great place to live, compared to say countries such as the ones in Africa or the wonderful countries of China and Russia, America is a great country but I do not agree with its government, America is a great country because of the opportunities brought forth to people who are dedicated in making a new life for themselves, thats why our country is a melting pot, full of different races
Because you know, you don't have to work and pay taxes before you are even eligible for welfare, the AVERAGE SNAP families do work, they only make about 750 a month. even then only see about 100 on average in EBT, People also like to make claims that because people who abuse the system then the entire system is bad, people like the ones you described are the minority. Also if you ever lose your job I want to see how you react because Im going to assume it would be everyones fault but your own
You can "God" and you can say, "damn," but you're fucking out of line to say "God damn." That's the most appalling and ignorant shit I've ever had the immense displeasure of being forced to observe in media. You can't say "fuck," but it's perfectly okay to say "rape." Arbitrary censorship makes no sense; they are just words, they cannot hurt. Love Brother Ali, tellin' it like it is.
Yes rich people need to care moore about the poor. Not even here in sweden everbydody is rich. Im not really rich , not even close to rich , kinda poor actually but i got quiet rich friends but they are good rich people who cares about me. But rich people still needs to care more about poor. Rap is not only for black people, its for everybody who is real to their words and has something to tell and got the talent. But we should really thank black people who started this wonderfull art :)
@reiko082 You didn't even refute a thing. You're not winning our little argument, you're just recapping what was said with some adjectives and words like "irony" and "metaphor" Okay you obviously don't know what irony is because I see no irony in anything. What is this 8th grade Language Arts class? You're going nowhere in this argument like you're stuck in quicksand. Thats a simile thank you very much. Also you still wont take the fact that you don't know the terrors inside the US.
@MrCoolBane I didn't see him talking about muslims or Islam in this song, so why is it relevant again? Yeah yeah, whatever gives you a better conscioiusness about the fact that the US invaded Iraq out of PURE GREED, Afghanistan for revenge. Looks like Iran and North-Korea are the next on the list so the world dominance plan is finished. Why do you make it a religious issue when this song CLEARLY is about racism, injustice, poverty and unfair and cruel politic. But I'm out of here. Peace
@ulsterman11 He's American, not Mauritanian, if he lived in those countries, then he can criticize them. Constructively criticize yourself and yours first and foremost, because thru self-analysis we can improve ourselves, Brother Ali is trying to get american's to achknowledge the atrocities they allow their gov. to get away with, cos until they do, they won't even be able to BEGIN fixing things. Try to understand that people in most of the world view USA as a bully, not a saviour!
@MrCoolBane personally i think you totally missed the point of this song. Of course the Muslim world has many problems, in SOME cases worse than things happening in the states... thats NOT the point. This song is about the USA... not some muslim country, so why even bring it up? Definition of propaganda: 1.Information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. I dont see anything misleading here, just historical facts..
Great song, but i can't help but disagree with it's message. My first disagreement is that, while America undoubtedly has had it's share of injustices, he seems to hold it above far worse examples in Europe, Asia and the Middle East - for example Mauritania where slavery was legal until 1974, the song also refuses to acknowledge America's contribution to the world - it's foundation was the first time in human history a society has thrown off it's shackles and become free.
@reiko082 Invented by Africains? ....Maybe you should research some of the following? The Sumerian Code of Ur-Nammu written circa 2100 BCE - 2050 BCE..or the Hittite texts from Anatolia?Who also include laws of regulating the institution of slavery? What about the Greeks?Aristotle declared all non-Greeks slaves by birth, fit for nothing but obedience!! And. of course don't forget the Roman Empire :) Good day sir......
@reiko082 Ok, you've had a few lectures and well travelled i respect that BUT he is merely pointing out that 'The land of the free' isnt so free.Do you here about the Iranian dream? or the Afghan dream? Pakistan dream?I'm sure George Bush has travelled to many countries but it doesnt mean he's educated.Does it? You also mentioned below about slavery being 'invented' by Africains? WTF? Maybe you should get a new teacher,he/she needs educating. My advice to you is READ more before you talk shite!
@MrBoom891 on the current situations. If there was a different country in power right now, they would be the most criticized country out there. If you do your history you would be suprised to find that almost every country has had equal worldly destruction. But why is all this information pushed to the back burner's? Because it's easier to criticize the leader rather then reflect on the individual. I have no doubt that I can find numerous inhumane acts caused by your nation.
For all the people who are wondering- Brother Ali has white parents. He was born with a rare condition called albinism, therefore making him an albino. When he was a child, the white kids made fun of him due to his skin color. So he hung out with the black kids because they were used to being discriminated against for their skin color. and really, don't all these argument's about race completely contradict the messages in his songs? "There's no you and no me, It's just us" -Us, Brother Ali
@reiko082 That wasn't a real come back comment. Jesus. You just said what I said was absurd. You didn't give proof. You just said that it was embarrassing for some reason. Im not embarrassed. So it was, in fact, not embarrassing. Also you have no right to comment on the condition of my country if you don't live here.
im from australia, if you love your hip hop , check out bliss n eso, illy, 360, pez, m-phasez , phrase, drapht , these boys have no hoes no bling and spit to be heard , just like brother ali, slug, murs, sage francis, grouch ect ect.... the list goes on of great hip hop , why is it such a common thing that people dont . recognise good lyrics dope beats and good flow ??
@HighandMighty609 You know what happens when the masses start listening to the underground artists right? All of a sudden the "hardcore fans" jump ship because the artist is no longer underground, they're now mainstream, apparently.... moral of the story; listen to what you like, not what you think you should or what you're told to.
@tkherbi9a he was born albino purposefully. much of his lyrical message is about society as a whole treating one another with discrimination and hate. he has risen above this and identifies with every race, color, culture. his albinism is the perfect symbol for his message. there is no YOU or ME, only US!
This video deserves 300 million thumbs up. Great song. I heard it for the first time today. What Brother Ali is saying here reminds me of Russell Means saying that America is just one Huge Indian Reservation. watch?v=gyQtrxLS92A
@reiko082 Its too bad that their aren't countries as great as America but one of the things that make America is the freedom of speech. Brother Ali is practicing this freedom. Don't hate because he's practicing this right. Also if you haven't noticed, the US is a pretty bad place.
Also, he did convert to Islam when he was 15 and changed his name from Jason to Ali. "I killed little Jason, he was only 15." His main religious influences are Malcom X and Muhammed Ali (hence the album "Champion") Read fucking wikipedia. and go to soundset.
so tired of hearing this babble. If everyone who has the balls to speak up leaves, the country will be left with nothing but sheep with the IQ of those fools from Jersey Shore. I'd rather stay right where I am and speak up when I see injustice.
ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this song alone gives me the shivers, those words are powerful and damn well meaningful, land of the thieves, home of the slaves. so true.
and cultures, and they basically moved there for one general reason, to make a new and BETTER life for themselves, other countries view America in a negative way, they arent looking at the country itself, but at its government
Are you talking about the Bush tax cut that Obama extended in 2010? Or does your memory only back far enough to blame Bush for everything? Why is he relevant I have a feeling that i know a little more about it than you sir.
In our defense, when given great opportunities, people often go the materialistic, asshole route. Not all people, just a lot. So in such a large country, a lot of people are gonna be materialistic assholes.
saying the whole of the United States of America is corrupt? Not true and not very nice, very hypocritical, have you been to the U.S? Because obviously it seems you dont understand some things either
