I absolutely love my M343D, and have learned quite quickly how to rethread, etc, (which is amazing because I'm not easy to teach!) and encouraged me to use it a lot more!

Abi's Den yes thanks, it’s arrived and I’m absolutely loving it. Just finished off the crib cover I was making for my son and daughter in law who are expecting in September. Never used an overlocker before but found it easy to thread and use, it’s amazing. I need more feet now to experiment further 😁👍
I see yours is from the UK. In the states the newer version of the 1034D is the 1034DX. My husband just got it for me for my birthday. It's still color coded but it has all the knobs on the right and eliminated the tension release switches.
I have the 1034D and never realized it had a free arm. Lol. Thanks for the info. I would love the new one but will stick with this one until it breaks. (Or until my daughter wants one, then I will give her my old one and buy the new one) 😏
I have the new one but I don't know why they wouldn't be a front bin for all trim off fabric...I also find anything that I trim off goes inside the machine. So it's OK but not great!!!
Hello Abi, I’m going round in circles trying to decide between the Brother 343d and the entry level Singer. I’ve watched so many video clips. Can you please advise me?
I don’t think, quality wise, they’re much different from each other. Both entry level, both exhibit same performance level. However, if you’re thinking singer s14-78. It’s miles better than any brother.
Thank you so much. Someone has lent me their Singer 14SH754 and I’ve never used one before. I like it but could only compare it with Brother by video. Your advise has helped a lot.
Thank you for the feedback. Personally. I would prefer the Aldi Necchi, more features and options, smoother, quieter and looks much better.even the singer in Lidl performs better. But generally speaking all of the brother overlockers are the same
Hi Abi I wounder if you could help me. I have the 1034d but I'm having a problem with. When I go to sew t shirt fabric with a stretch to it, the machine is pulling the fabric back and getting wrapped around the top looper. I'm a experienced machinist, but I just can't understand why this happens. It's fine on other fabric, it just stretch fabric. Also can you tell me if the stitch finger is supposed to be flat level with the plate. My foot seems to be move the stitch finger and foot not completely flat on the plate. I hope I have made sense, could you give me any advice thankyou Jo

Great review, I have an old EVA Royal machine the past 11 years and thinking of up grading to this brother overlocker. It’s a pity neither of these models comes with an elastic food. I use a lot of Lycra’s and power net fabric and I was wondering what is tension like on the new brother overlocker for those types of fabrics. Would it be worth purchasing this machine. Thank you.
@@AbisDen I see! The 1034d is the older model in US and is more expensive by over $100. I think the newer model you have is equivalent to our 1034dX (the newer model). I wonder why the older model is more expensive, I thought maybe they use more metal parts vs the newer. Good to know the sound and stitches are the same tho
@@AbisDenso the newer 343d model you have noticed doesn’t wear down as much as the 1034? I was hoping to get 1034 because I like the smaller free arm for baby clothes 😢
nicki lee When you use cops, sometimes the thread if it’s a slippery one, such as a metallic or a fine 40 twist, the net will help the thread from slipping onto itself. You usually don’t need these for cotton threads. I have rarely used mine in all the years I’ve had an over locker
Please k.indly remake this very helpful video. The volume is unbearably low and i find it difficult hearing you. i have the volume on my laptop at 100% and still can barely hear your voice. thank you.
