Hi Alanda, I am brand new to Scan n Cut, (have it for 2 weeks now) I am a 70 plus Senior and have had limited computer experience (USB sounds confusing to me). I really appreciate your Tutorials they are easier to understand then most for me. The purpose in my buying the machine was to create lettering to put on wood. I enjoy learning new things and challenging my brain, however, this is VERY CHALLENGING at the moment I'm afraid to do this wrong. This is my first time visiting Canvas workspace, need to practice more. I think I need a Brother Scan n Cut for Dummies Book.....I checked on Amazon they don't have one. I have also had issues when cutting the vinyl where it sort of crunches up some of the letters, maybe I am choosing too small of a Font? I am trying to fit text on a 4 inch block of wood. I am able to lift the vinyl sheet off of the mat but then having trouble lifting the vinyl with the Transfer Tape. In my machine itself I don't know what the icons mean or what they do unless I watch a video....is there an easier way? I have the SDX 125 e model, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you

Hi Lucy, it certainly can be a bit challenging at the start. We have online courses that may help you. Here is a link to the different courses www.alandaonline.com/product-category/brother-scanncut/. They are written in baby steps to make it super easy to learn. If your machine is a ScanNCut DX, we do have a free course which you will see on the link above. We do have a number of tutorials on the website as well, here is a link to those www.alandacraft.com/category/scanncut/brother-scan-n-cut-tutorials/. Stay with it, things will become easier and you will love the machine once you get a handle on it. 😊

Just read The Potato Factory by Bryce Courtney based on the history of early days in the English settlement of Australia. The women in this historical account were nothing short of amazing! Speaking of amazing Australian women; thank you for this video. It helps to know ways to adapt available fonts in Canvas.

This is great! Can you update it with the current software? Brother CanvasWorkspace 2.1 is very different from what you're using here. I was still able to use your instructions, I just had to hunt for things.

Hello Alanda. I enjoyed your tutorial. I'd like to ask about a stored text in the machine. The word Believe. It has 3 tiny bits on the letter e's. How do I bridge them to cut out all as one for a stencil? Any help greatly appreciated 😀. Thankyou 🌷

thank you for all your help. this was my first time to work on the canvas. I want to be able to bring over my own fancy font word like welcome to make a stencil. How can I do that?

You have two options. You can save your word as a jpg or png first and then import the image into the Canvas software. Then you should be able to create the letters into stencilled words following the tutorial. You can also use the Font Converter to create your word and then import it into Canvas. so grateful for this video - can you help me?? How do I... after making the stencil with the subtracted marks - make a template WITH just the subtracted marks so I can easily paint those marks in??? It's been hours of trying :((((

Why can't I find scanncut CANVAS? All I find is scanncut WORKSPACE. MOST OF THESE TUTORIALS ARE DONE ON CANVAS. NOT WORKSPACE. FRUSTRATING!

I cant get this to work. Is this video using Canvas Workspace? That is what I have on my computer... I cant do it directly on my Brother Scan n Cut 2200DX either... I want to create letter stencils but I have tried many times...

There are two versions of Canvas Workspace. The downloadable version and the online version. This video was created using the online version. If you head over to the Canvas Workspace website and login there you will be able to use the online version and hopefully it will work for you. I'll put the link here but sometimes RU-vid strips the links from comments so if you don't see it, then just search for Brother Canvas Workspace in your favourite search engine.
