What is amazing is, they are still kids and look like they've been performing it for years and the crowd knows what to do because of it, but this was just the 3rd time it was performed.

3:05 _"Now Pizza time (Pizza time!)"_ 🦊🤘🍕 Welcome back to the Foxhole🦊🤘🔥 Nice to see you with this suggestion to follow your BM journey, just like here it was the ender for almost every show at the World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone loved to have fun with this one such recently at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, they just did a fun interview about it and you can see they were excited with Slipknot returns, they were very supportive during early era or Metal Resistance chapter (that's the title inside the lore), also they play this last week at San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok, and btw DragonForce were there playing too, another supportive band since BM beginning career and also involved in the album version of this song as well some live collabs together around those years. "Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Next suggestion to meet a SuMetal solo along with a Kami Band intro: - Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - Pretty much a master class in audience control. The lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) had just turned 17 a couple of weeks before this January 10th, 2015 concert. Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) were 15. BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like one genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song. You can definitely feel the speed metal component in this one though. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Su first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since headlining with BABYMETAL.

Circle pits and walls of death are staple parts of the live Babymetal experience. There are a number of songs in their live set that can pretty much be guaranteed to have a few circle pits going, and for a couple of songs they call for the wall of death as well. At the show I was at in Melbourne Australia last year, there was a even a pretty sizable rowing pit going on. Once the crowd gets into it, anything can happen, but by the standards of metal mosh pits, Babymetal's are pretty friendly and chill. Babymetal started as an idol group, but they've kind of transcended that over the years and become very much their own thing. They refer to themselves as a "metal dance unit" rather than an idol group or a band.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This anthemic song was played in the latest shows in USA on April 24, 25 and 27 this year (San Francisco x2 and Las Vegas). The crowd involvement (circle pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. In your video, Su shouted some words at 07:31 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and mild voice that I love 😄

This 'Legend 2015: New Year Fox Festival' finale (Jan 10, 2015) at Saitama Super Arena really captured lightning in a bottle, particularly in rebutting metal gatekeepers & winning over veteran rock musicians overseas. BM's youthful stage presence (Su was just 17, Moa/Yui were 15), Kami Band's brilliance (guitarists Ohmura/Leda, bassist Boa, drummer Aoyama on this night), longest setlist at that point (15 songs, testifying to their impressive stamina), biggest headlining crowd then (which at 20k was double than their Red Night/Black Night shows at Budokan the previous March, although BM was also gaining experience supporting Lady Gaga on tour & performing to 30k to 50k music festivals like Sonisphere UK, Heavy Montreal, Summer Sonic 2014 Tokyo/Osaka along the way) all contributed to a change of opinion in taking them seriously. All these, & RoR wasn't even officially released yet. The song had debuted live only about 2 months earlier (then provisionally titled "The One"), as the tour closer at London's O2 Academy Brixton on Nov 8, 2014. It was subsequently available as a bonus download with their live video album release a few days before the Saitama gig. From these two sources alone (fancams + the limited-edition track), the sold-out 20,000 audience worked out what to do during the call-&-response parts. This concert footage would become RoR's official live video (which you're now reacting to). Only thing lacking was no official English subtitles, since the lyrics are very inspirational. (Fansubs exist however.) BM only started including them this decade, namely their 2021 Budokan & 2023 PIA Arena clips which are brilliant shows, but the girls are also much older & knew how to pace their choreography by then. By contrast, their younger gigs were always breathtakingly performed from start to finish. BM proceeded to raise their live act even more for the rest of 2015, playing to even bigger audiences (Rock on the Range, Download 2015, Reading Festival, Leeds Festival). Dailymotion has their entire set for Metrock 2015 (May 24, 2015) when they exuberantly tore through 7 songs in 40 minutes for a 40,000 crowd at Tokyo's Windmill Field.

Many fans' favourite version always gets me in feels even after all these years . I am so proud of what they achieved through hard work and commitment . Their are many mosh / circle pits at BabyMetal shows, but did you notice the fans stopped to sing along 😁 I have ave seen them 5 times now, and although smaller shows still had the best experience ever . Their audience interaction is second to non . If they smile at you or interact with you , you can not be mistaken. You know it's you . They are not only super talented, but they are incredibly Appreciative of the fans and always from when they started are the same polite and humble people, even with all their success, no big egos with BabyMetal . They are very charming and charismatic young ladies 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Great reaction.🤘🦊 Sounds like DragonForce you say? No, I know you didn't,😁 but if you had it would not have been a coincidence - Herman Li and Sam Totman from British power/speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015. This was the Kami Band of course. In this concert they were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars with BOH on his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. As you saw, this video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su-metal was 17, Yuimetal and Moametal only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death that transformed into the circle pit after the initial rush (actually several walls of death. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits).🤘 This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy road to follow.🤘🦊

I had the great pleasure of seeing Baby Metal in concert both nights of their Babyklok Tour at The Masonic on Nob Hill in San Francisco last week, April 24 & 25. Both shows were awesome. They performed 11 songs in 65 minutes, including all four of the songs you have reacted to so far: Pa Pa Ya, Monochrome, Headbanger, and Road of Resistance. I have a ticket to see them at the Fox Festival in Japan on May 26, where I hope to enjoy the full Baby Metal production experience. Don’t know when they will return to the states, but you should definitely go to see them when they do. They are a joy to behold!

Really enjoy your reactions. You present yourselves well and I appreciate that each time it seems you've done a little "homework", so to speak. Babymetal really is more than just a band. With the girls, Kami band, incredible stage presentations. the lore, amazing history and the incredible stage presence these young ladies alwya exhibit. It really is a multi-faceted experience. I can't even guess how many times I've viewed this performance and every time seeing Babymetal hold thousands rapt in their hands with commanding confidence it still blows my mind. It takes a rare ability to hold an audience this way. Again nice work on the reaction. Peace.

Nice! Babymetal live shows are always amazing. Even more impressive they are already bonafide stage generals at such a young age. Technically speaking, they are “idols”, but over time, they are becoming far removed. Type of music, their choreography, stage presence, how they are managed/involved, etc. Even their lore: 3 Metal spirits summoned by the Fox God to infiltrate and fight the “big bad idol industry”. Reflective of their metalhead producer being stuck making idol music in a nation where metal scene was, at the time, slowly dying. 🤘🦊

Go out there and gain a following by performing anywhere you can. I'd say it worked out for them. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. See You

There is a very rare video of Moametal at about 12 years old, in her kitchen cooking a grill cheese sandwich while humming Kings and Queens and Guillotines by Aerosmith. I'm pretty sure this exists or it might be the LSD.

Great reaction, guys! They are a fun and different band! As to being in Boston...you missed it! I drove 5 hours last September and saw them at the MGM Theater at Fenway! What an adventure (the Green line, oh my...LOL!) getting there and out again! The concert was great, though you won't see these kind of shows outside of Japan. Still more intimate and just as fun!

Babymetal has asked the fans to try and keep the mosh pits more civilized, and Su will often indicate when she wants a circle pit. The choreography for Road Of Resistance explicitly calls for a _wall of death_ though, which can be a bit rougher. The Japanese crowd seem very good at transitioning into a circle pit, but that rarely what happens when Babymetal performs in the west. Metal heads here seem to stick with what they know, and it's generally just the normal melee. Maybe a bit friendlier at Babymetal's headlining concerts (where everyone is a Babymetal fan), and a bit more violent at festivals and joint tours (with new fans in the crowd and a bit more drinking going on).

It's not necessarily an insult to be called an idol though. I love Babymetal, but they are not that far removed from your standard idol group. Calling them alt-idol would be pretty spot on. I'm not a big fan of the business model as such, but as long as the girls are treated fairly, it's not the end of the world. Doesn't make them any less talented, or the music any less good.

They actualy are idols.....in Japan at least. It's become more confusing over time. Outside of Japan they are just metal performers, who perform with a live metal band. But they are not a band...and could still be idols...see. That's why i said in the last video, refering to them as a 'metal idol group' or even a 'metal group' is a simpler way of describing what they are without falling into the band debate. The word 'Metal' needs to be included though, because they are not just idols in the traditional sense and are established international metal artists. I don't like the term 'metal dance unit' though as it makes them sound like a metal version of Atarashi Gakko, and they are not. It's saying they are 'not metal' or 'just a gimmick' that pi**es fans off, and quite rightly.
@jlrinc1420
@jlrinc1420 3 месяца назад
@TheLeomarti If an idol group means they aren't chugging six packs of heroin before concerts, then call them an idol group thankfully. It's funny the ethic bands in Japan have as opposed to America. I don't like to think of a group of young American girls touring with a metal band.

Those pits are called circle pits, or mosh’sh pits which a variation of the usual mosh pits that are way more gentle and considerate and not as rowdy as normal mosh pits. Especially in Japan people will not hurt each other and be very polite, so yes, this is a way of having fun without any fear of getting hurt.
