Speed Load is for when you are firing with a three shell waterfowl limit and your shotgun goes dry and the bolt is back so you feed the shell in and it self loads and you can get back on the birds as they are still in range.
Do an indepth review of this vs the SX4! When I first saw your videos years ago, I went out and purchased an SX4. I have recently learned how to throw up 5 clays and break 5 clays with 5 shots. I have convinced at least 6 friends to buy an SX4. Now i would like to upgrade a little so that I dont look like my whole crew! This gun has been on my list ever since they released it.
I did a review of the SX4 Upland a couple months ago and I could do a shotgun showdown with the Maxus 2 but with one being a 3" and the other being a 3.5" and then the price point being so different it wouldn't be a great comparison. Here's what I would say, if you like the SX4, the Maxus is a higher end version of it and if you can justify the money, you'll love it. It overall is a better quality build with some cool added features and finishes. Congrats on breaking 5 clays, that's not something most can do. Are you hand throwing yourself?
I have an a400 extreme plus. If you do not have one I recommend getting one. It feels so good when bird season rolls around knowing I have the best shotgun on the market!
@@TargetFocusedLife what did you think of the action? Easy to operate? I sent my Maxus in because it needed entirely too much effort to operate. Came back to me the exact same way as I sent it in.
@@tylerj6298 The action of the Maxus as well as the SX4 can be a bit "snappy" or tight. With some shooting they will loosen up some but this is also part of the reason they are fast shooting guns. When the spent cartridge is ejected the bolt snaps back very quickly. It is certainly different than most inertia guns.
Love these gun review videos. I would love to see a lot of guns reviewed guns like stoeger, retay, Remington, cz just to name a few. Maybe even a few ranking videos such as recoil, lightest to heaviest, smoothness of mount or swing. Just a few ideas I would like to see. Just my .02
Your review is awesome!! However, imo over the head shooting and cycling is unsafe. That’s why most semi autos don’t shoot and cycle unless shouldered, and stabilized properly. That over the head shooting stance mimics accidental discharge and therefore, the guns stops cycling. Shoot any Browning semi auto one handed and it will jam for the same reason. So that might actually be a good feature.
I can really appreciate that even though you are sponsored by Winchester/Browning you give a good no BS review. You show the strengths but also did not cut the failures. I have the A400 Xtreme and really like that shotgun. I shoulders the Maxus 1 and it wasn’t for me. I like seeing the Maxus 2 having more options to customize the gun for yourself.
Hi Jeff, thanks for the feedback. As of last year I am not sponsored by Winchester or any shotgun company, that is why I now have the freedom to do reviews and speak openly about shotguns. I really liked the A400 XP. The Maxus 1 wasn't for me either, the Maxus 2 is way better in my opinion. 👊 Stay Target 🎯Focused (Hebrews 12:1-3)
I have a speed load on my Browning and I love it for trap shooting at the range. Lots of places only let you load one shot at a time and this cuts down the task. My friends with Benelli Montefeltros wish they had this every time there see it!
Steve I just picked mine up today from Bass pro. Couldn't be happier. It is beautiful. The exact model your showing. Can't wait to get duck hunting! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I probably would have bought another versa max like I had.
AFTER USING MY MAXUS 2 THIS YEAR UNDER 300 ROUNDS AND IT GOT REAL WET ONCE. THE BLACK RUBBER GRIPS STARTED WEARING OFF AT ALL CORNERS. THE RECOIL SPRING RUSTED ALL OVER THE MAG TUBE, THE LOWER BUTTPAD SCREW STRIPPED, THE CLIP HOLDING THE FRONT SLING MOUNT FLUNG OFF SOMEWHERE. 1550 DOLLAR GUN THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS
I’ve had this gun for a year now it cycles light shells really quickly I’ve killed Turkey dove and duck with it and it’s a very versatile gun out of the berettas and benellis if you have the money it’s my favorite shotgun I’ve owned the cerakote hasn’t scratched or scraped and it’s very easy to clean.
If you had to own the Browning Maxus II Hunter would it be a good 2nd gun to the Winchester SX4 with a Walnut Stock! Can you use the Shims from the Browning Maxus on the Winchester SX4 since No Shims come in the box??
Honestly, this is the best review video for this gun, good job 👍🏼, yes I would like to see the cleaning video for this gun also and the compare head to head with Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus.
Slickest use of the speed load in the field was Phil Robertson in one of the earlier Duck Commander films. He was empty after a fly by, Si threw him a shell and he slicked it in with the speed load and shot before you could blink. Knowing your way round your gun made that look natural. 🦆🦆
Great video! I've seen in other video reviews that the cerakote finish has been wearing off after only one season of hunting use. Has anyone else noticed that? Thanks! 🤠
Great Review.....would like to see a review on the Browning Silver 12 GA 28" 3.5 Realtree Max-5 Camo FDE . Again great review, good review of the Maxus 2...thanks
The speed load feature is for reloading quickly when all three shells are ejected and the shotgun is open and empty and geese or ducks are still coming in you can get off a shot as they are in range. Or if a bird is wounded and you are empty and the action is open just slip a shell in a loads up to take a quick shot of the wounded bird.
Softest shooting gun I’ve ever shot, unfortunately after 3 months of use I had too many cycling issues and the rubber inlays began to peel out of the stock.
I know you just did the Outlander, but there's the new A300 Ultima that just came out. Might not be worth rehashing the 12ga since its just a bunch of new features on the A300 action, but there is the 20ga now...
I wish Reeds would get more of these in stock. I've been waiting months for them to get a maxus 2 wicked wing in max 5 or shadow grass. Im gonna have to go with a benelli sbe3 since they are in stock everywhere.
Mossberg is the only manufacturer so far that does LOP correctly. Make 'em all 13.5" and include shims. Why should the customer have to cut off stock just because he/she is not 5' 10"?
I would love your opinion between the sx4 and the maxus II. The internals are pretty much exactly the same. I was curious as to your opinion as why the sx4 will cycle over your head but the maxus II will not. That is puzzling to me. I actually own an sx4, and just ordered my maxus II. Wondered what you thought on differences in cycling with the same gas system, receiver, bolt, and everything.
I’d love to hear what you think of the browning silver field. I’m looking at a new semi, and I’m wondering if the maxus 2 is worth the extra coin over the silver field.
That’s a Great Video congratulations for a great honest review I will love to se a cleaning video and I will love to see a Stoeger semi auto shotgun review!
“I hate when I can feel a hump there” ole boy must really hate the A5 lol, great video I’ve always been a big Browning fan but I prefer the A5 over the maxis. I’m excited to get a chance to shoot the new Maxis 2 though.
haha...maybe hump isn't the right word...I don't like when there isn't a smooth seam between the stock and the receiver. I really like the A5 too BTW. 👊 Stay Target 🎯Focused (Hebrews 12:1-3)
Picked this gun up in October shot low for me out of the box jammed about once every 50 rounds and recoiled as much or more than my franchi affinity max. Needless to say after a frustrating duck season and about 600 rnds through the gun still getting Jams with both 3in and 2 3/4 rounds I took a loss and traded it in for a SBE3. Very disappointed with this shotgun.
Hey Bro great video and well delivered, kindly produce the cleaning video and PLEASE do a comparison video with that Gun and the Beretta A400 Xtreme plus, thank you.
He didn’t mention one of the most used feature in my case it has that lever on the left side of the action that stops it from cycling when you fold it out so you can easily take out one shell and put in a different one in case you just want to change out a 3 inch for 3 1/2 or vice versa
Do you often see a difference after a breaking period? I had some ejection problems with the 3 inch magnum load; the shotgun Maxus 2 having fired only 25-30 shots
I have this same gun and I tried over thehead cycling with trap loads and mine cycles over the head no problem. It does probably have more round threw it though.
I traded a used SBE3 and really shot out SX2 for a Maxus 2. You’re spot on. VERY ergonomically sound and thought out. Definitely a duck gun. It’s pretty much a SX4 that’s 20% better 🤷♂️ I don’t mind cleaning firearms so I enjoy a well built gas gun. Looking forward to duck season this year
@@11Bulletstopper mine runs all ammo fine. The recoil spring got rusted while on mag tube the end cap sling mount clip fell off bottom buttstock bolt stripped and the buttstock end is not water tight
They’re going to operate essentially the same. The wicked wing is one of the best looking guns I’ve had - so if you’re into high detail/nice aesthetics, than I’d say it’s worth it if you’re already spending that much. But if you need a reliable work horse, all maxus 2’s will do the job great👊🏻
@@TargetFocusedLife hopefully by the end of August in time for dove season here in the south. My brother has an a400 extreme plus, and it’s a smooth shooter. But I really like the look of the maxus 2, I just want to know if it’s as smooth and reliable. Thank you for taking the time to review these guns!
So has any gun beat the Maxxis 2 in the comparison videos? If you have done one that it’s lost I haven’t seen it. Thanks for the videos. Very good info.
I could but with my experience with the 18i it wouldn't be a great video. I have had two 18i shotguns and both wouldn't cycle reliably. I always want to tell the truth about the guns I shoot but I do not enjoy openly bashing shotguns on video. Weatherby needs to work on the 18i in my opinion.
Hey, My son and I love your videos. Keep it up! We're interested in Remington V3 Waterfowl Pro. I heard Remington started making them again. If you can get your hands on one we would love to hear your opinion.
this gun has a factory defect where it fails to feed shells. its a fairly common issue from what I've researched online and personal use(10 jams per 100 shells). A 2k gun shouldn't jam at all! Get a berretta or Benelli!
Thank you for the suggestion. Generally I like to compare guns that are around teh same price so I can give them a fair comparison. The Maxus 2 is nearly 2x the price of the SX4.
Gas guns, except the berettas. Are a hybrid of gas and inertia. The gas system just sets the bolt into motion while the inertia does the rest. Berettas have the action sleeve connected to the bolt carrier. Therefore more of a true gas system.
I have a review on the Beretta A400 Extreme Plus coming out soon and that would be a great gun for a Shotgun Showdown with the Maxus 2! Thnaks for the suggestion.
Well Thank you. Glad you like the reviews. I just got in an A5 but I am not sure when I will be able to film a review. Heading to MT for 2 weeks for an elk hunt 👊 Stay Target 🎯Focused (Hebrews 12:1-3)
