Brrrrrrr! Trucking Throttle Trouble!!!!
In today's video, I am trucking wheat to the commercial grain elevator to sell it. Apparently, someone else hit the grain monitor too! LOL Dad encourages me not to run over the service tech repairing the grain monitor when I drive off the scale. hahaha I drive into the building, dump the grain and then we head back home. Dad has some crazy comments about the way I am pressing the throttle. We safely make it home. Thank you for watching!

Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 17-year-old 4th generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

Kate that little yellow on the seat belt is to adjust the length of the belt on your shoulder. Adjust the belt to your comfort level then push the bottom part of the yellow buckle up to lock it. Much more comfortable and still safe. Love your videos, your dad is very knowledgeable listen to him he can teach you a lot

Hi Miss Kate ! You poor thing, you cant ever have sn unevintful trip to the Grain Elevator. You didn't break down and you didn't run over anything. But the bed not wanting to go downand the ticket machine not wanting to give you a weight ticket. But you take it all in stride and your humble spirit is awesome. You sre geting more used to driving the big rigs, and your confidance is showing. Even your dad is relaxed, Great job.

Classic Kate, "I didn't stall the truck at the Grain Elevator"... Priceless!! In Illinois we can't put grain on the ground tarped like that. The State requires all grain it to be in a permanent structure and off the ground. I love your Dad's words of encouragement as you are learning trucking skills. Keep up the Great work Kate...

Dad doesnt have excellent teaching skillz, but at least he's trying. I know this is serious stuff, but he can improve his skillz. She's his babygirl afterall, not a stranger. I dont like that he kinda takes her smile away, when he's giving her instructions how to drive that truck. She is a sweet girl that should always smile no matter what.

Kate, you are doing so much better with the truck! As you know, there is so much to watch while operation equipment, and the truck fits right into that need. Watching the roadway, turns, checking mirrors, clutch operation, and the like is all part of the truck experience. I am still concerned that you need to stretch out a little bit to successfully work the clutch. You might try setting your seat more upright,and moving the seat a bit more forward to help with that. Your dad remains confident in you, and is starting to trust you more with the truck. I look forward to the video that sends you to the elevator alone.

Thanks Kate. For sure have to have the clutch in to engage the dump PTO, probably don't have to have have the clutch in to disengage the dump PTO, but I always just did it anyway. Your learning, always get a smile. Thanks again. 🙂

My biggest difficulty was learning where the right side of the truck was. I learned to use the hood ornament as my marker. Line that up with the edge of the road. It works, I still do it that way. You need a center hood ornament like a dog, or a rubber duck or a flying horse... Something.

Your eyes show your nerves and fear combined with an "Oh Dad " attitude. You are getting better each time you try. You are getting closer to becoming one with the machine as your father hinted at. Until that day you might be technically proficient, but your instinct for the unexpected will sometimes fail you. Most times a few mistakes don't matter, but you have to be almost perfect if you are flying , taking your orals, or driving a truck on ice or in the wind. You already know that, hence your nervous eyes.You are good and getting better. You are making your parents proud . It shows when your father is in a good mood. It is -2 and we may get a little snow. Tuesday's wind and snow was as much dust as snow.

Hang (upside down) from your feet for 6 months while you're sleeping, it'll stretch those legs out long enough for you to get you to the clutch. 🤣 My dad made me SO nervous learning to drive a manual, although I know your truck isn't a manual per se. Anyway, we had just moved into a subdivision that wasn't complete when I started driving. I just started practicing in it, without dad, after school. It had the perfect sized hill to practice on. So much easier when you don't have some one else's blood pressure rising every time you stall the car lol. You got this young lady! Keep getting experience behind the wheel, and you'll be fine. Your dads rabbit ears at the end of the video is so funny. Y'all keep up the great work.

I enjoyed the video and your Dad's "Commands". He really gets riled up because of his method of teaching. Kate, when a PTO is being engaged you are moving two gears together. The clutch stops the revolving of the gears so that they can mesh together and turn the hydraulic pump that moves oil to do something such as raise the body of the truck. Overall I think you did well 😊

As usual, I very much watching your video. I am just starting to disc my ground, then I will moldboard plow it, then I will disc it again, to get it ready to plant orchard grass, mixed with alfalfa. I am going to so much trouble, because I haven't done anything with the ground in 4 or 5 years, and I only have 20 acres. Kate, ask your dad to fix the seats in your trucks. Do they adjust to fit your clutching leg lenghth ? Appserloutly fantastic films to watch. Your a delight young lady.
