Although It's kind of messed up that God wouldn't want that for mankind and instead burns Bruce.. If war and famin ended, he would have accomplished something amazing, whereas getting her back would have been literally a phonecall and a set of dates.
It is interesting that God used the words 'what do you really care about' rather than 'what do you want' or 'what do you love'. I find it a nice touch.
"Parting a soup is not a miracle Bruce, it's a magic trick. A single mom who's working two jobs and still finds time to take her kid to soccer practice, that's a miracle. A teenager who says no to drugs and yes to an education, that's a miracle... You want to see a miracle son? Be the miracle". Not a top-boxoffice-oscar-winning-movie, but more touching than Titanic and Avatar put together. I just hope my kid will agree with this when he grows up :) "Now that's a prayer"
His prayer for Grace was a true sign of him loving her. He was willing to let her go and have her be with someone else if it meant her happiness. I'm glad he ended up with her in the end. Bruce came a long way from who he was at the beginning of the movie.
@@PhantomWorksStudiosits also a test that god give him when god give his power In the end he learned the lesson and see what the real power the real miracle is Bruce decide to help people without « power » of gode but just help people with humility It’s just faith hope and love and all of that is part of the human being
@@PhantomWorksStudiosHe mentioned it in the beginning of the movie, free will must be respected. Bruce was given a perspective and an opportunity, but the choice of what to do with them was always his.
I want her to be happy, no matter what that means. I want her to find someone who will treat her with all the love she deserved from me. I want her to meet someone who will see her always as I do now.
I love Gods representation in this movie: He knows the reason why he created you and yet he doesn't force you to live up to it. He's just their to give advise and love you regardless of the path you chose.
same...just the immensity of...the immeasurable depth of his unending love that he has for us...despite being nowhere near worthy/deserving of it 😭@GreatOldOne
The conversation between Bruce and God is the most heart touching and comforting. It gives me a sense of purpose to sacrifice the one side love which probably will end very soon. Thanks to the entire crew of this movie for creating such a masterpiece.
I love the acting at 1:26; the look of wonder on Bruce's face when he realises that (much to his own surprise,) he doesn't want something for himself. His first real experience of unselfishness then lets him visibly relax and be at peace for the first time in the film. I also love God's reaction; I know he said he doesn't affect free will, but I still think he knew what Bruce was going to say (whether because of divine omniscience or just a very good understanding of people,) and the look of surprise was staged to encourage Bruce to think through his revelation and complete his transformation. That look of a parent/teacher feigning ignorance to encourage a promising yet stubborn and stroppy child to make their own life-altering discovery rather than spoon-feeding it to them really fits in with this film's interpretation of God.
"Bruce, you have the divine spark, you have the gift of bringing joy and laughter to the world" Morgan Freeman got the actor's and character's names confused haha!
@@tonyacosta4574 They are implying that it isn't a line in the movie it is Morgan Freeman saying that to Jim not his character Bruce. Basically saying Jim is the gift.
"Now what do you really care about?" This line tells us that God wants us to focus our energy on what really matters to us first and foremost, rather than what others want to matter to us.
For me the best part is when he starts talking about Grace, at first you think he'll be selfish and say "oh yeah i want her, lets go", but then he drops honestly one of the most heartfelt lines in any movie talking about being able to see her happy, it shows a full transformation in character for Bruce, he wants whats best for her, not him. Seriously the best scene in the film.
@@danieldickson8591the real love is necessarily unconditional so say « inconditional love « it’s like a pleonsam Christ sacrifice is the the first proof of love and orignal
For being a quintessential Jim Carrey comedy film, there's a beautiful underlying spiritual message in this movie, not just the wonderful "Be the miracle" message. We see Bruce doing sweeps, and he wants to be something more (news anchor position), but in so doing, he sacrifices his greatest talents and assets: making people laugh and creating that feeling of joy in everyone around him. He learns how we're given talents, but if we don't use them, we're less than what we are. It's touching how the film comes to full circle in the end as Bruce is back to doing sweeps, but he's happy with his job and continuing to employ his talents, thus making everyone happy as a whole. And it's that kind of positive, uplifting atmosphere that helps make the world a better place for everyone, a good life worth living.
I feel very lucky to be alive, I could of died last night :'( I got an electric shock and felt the current go past my heart. I was so worried.. But like I said im just happy to be alive, someone up there must love me
He loves you so much, that he gave his life for you! As you probably already know, that "He" that I'm referring to is Jesus! He is the Ultimate form of love!!!✝️✝️✝️
I love the writing in this movie God knew what Bruce was going to ask for before he even asked for it hence him getting hit by the truck so Grace could move past her anger and forgive him And the scene where God talks to Bruce the final step he needed to look at life not just Grace through God’s eyes with love and compassion Truly a masterpiece of a movie
i love how even the serious moments have some humor added just to keep the mood high, such as mr GOD freeman being a defib unit or bruce noticing the pray bracelet in his hand :)
This scene really resonates with me because I was lucky enough to be with the love of my life for over 3 years. We had a really bad falling out, and we separated hard and with a big fat mess all over the place. And I am to blame for that. I cried and cried for her back for almost 2 years after the break up. At times, practically for 9 months straight actually, it was constant. Any time i daydreamed or had nothing to think about in the day, the feelings and yearning for her love again would cripple me down. Keep me up for days. Make me relapse in my drug addiction. But enough was enough, all of this was just me hurting myself for no reason. I had to let her go. I knew for the longest time that I just wanted her to be happy, no matter who she is with. But I wasn't satisfied deep down with that realization. But now, knowing that I'm not weighing her down with all of the flaws that I currently hold, that she can finally live her life to her fullest and make somebody else feel the way she made me feel. And to have that other person make her feel the same way. I wouldn't trade it in the world.. but that's also the thing. I have to trade it, because to keep it all for myself without consideration of her wants would just be selfish and heartless. It's easy to see that I still battle with my own words to somehow make sense of all of this. But I can also say that It truly got easier. Yes, if took almost 2 years post relationship to even get to a point where I don't cry almost every day like a little baby. But the fact that I can be a lot more happier than sad that we moved on for the better shows progress. Everything will be okay.
I feel you....the journey to realisation and self heal and to let go in itself is so pure and contending .....u will be luking back at yourself knowing that u have become a better person
I pray the same for my love ♥️ I care a lot about her. She's special and really means a lot to me. I just can't see her in tears or sad and always want her to be Happy and Smiling.☺️ I love you Aishwarya, my 👸
Bruce: Lord, feed the hungry and bring peace too all man kind, how is that? God: that’s great, if you are running for Ms. America, What do you really care about? THAT LINE KILLS ME XD
LOVE this part of the movie. . . Always makes me cry. Saw this movie for the 1st time in September of 2013. 1 month of I lost my boyfriend. Keep wishing God had done that for Wayne, but obviously God had other plans. When I asked god for a sign and help. 2 weird things happened. I saw this movie for the first time and 2, a good friend came along into my life. Still hurts alot, wont lie, but I keep believing God knows why.
that is funny, and I had not thought about that. at least in Bruce's case, it was clear he was just doing praying how he thought he was expected to, and not from the heart, which is why God took issue with it.
That's amazing. You can watch that scene and get it absolutely backwards. God didn't want some insincere platitudes, he wanted Bruce to speak from the heart. He realized he'd screwed up and lost Grace because he was selfish. And for the first time, Bruce wasn't self-serving. He wanted whatever was best for her, regardless of what it meant for him.
@@mikeb4481 so you're saying a selfish want for an individual is more important and really matters to the sky fairy..... ending war, poverty and disease which affects literally billions of people as these are empty platitudes..... I would w/o hesitation 1st and foremost ask an imaginary cloud ghost for those things but then unlike religious people I am not selfish.
@@uwillnevahno6837 Well my friend, your unpleasant tone, and calling God a sky fairy could tend to give atheists a bad reputation. Set that aside, and take the movie on its own terms. Bruce grew as a person. It's a touching scene, if you let it touch you.
Sometimes I wish my break would end like this (from the point of meeting up, hugging etc and not neccesarily in a hospital). :( It's so inspirational to pray selflessly for the loved one's happiness, despite our own pain...
When I watch this film, I never ever can stop appreciating the acting, the emotional bonds that bind us. The ones who mean so much to us, we just have to look at ourselves and see what makes us drive throughout our lives. We all make mistakes from time to time, no one is perfect but life is perfect and we just have to be grateful for what we have.
This film taught a very valuable lesson about greed and selfishness, and how it feels to be granted such power but also a great sense of responsibility. Only by letting go of what he wanted and thinking about what her CARED about, did he start thinking about making others happy before himself. As someone who loves to help people and make people happy, it's something that everyone should think about. It's a healthy balance of being selfless and selfish.
It’s what the Christ do to all the human beings with his sacrifice A real proof of love When you love someone you help him you guide him But doing all the thing for the person don’t help him God help the person to be a better person guide them to do the things by themself God give us the free will He want us to have faith love and hope he want us to be the miracle
@@victorito07 yet many women were beaten to death by abusive husbands just because of that conviction in a local priest mind or even entire village. 'what God has joined together, man must not separate' the movie Chocolat touched that one in the most realistic way. And we still live in such a world, Mel Gibson and Johnny Depp - two examples of highly protected abusive spouses, at least these women freed themselves but got trashed in public eye, did these guys learn anything? Only that they can do whatever and they will be hailed innocent and cute and adorable.
@@victorito07 'God help the person to be a better person guide them' - by these words you do not meant that God helps abusive men? You only meant that God helps Christ?
WankersCramp69 while is good acting, the reality is that the lord knows all of our thoughts and he can see all outcomes from our decisions. So if this conversation actually happened Heavenly Father would know what he was thinking at that moment but he would wait for you to make the decision. From what I understand
The first time I ever saw my mother cry at a movie…was absolutely beautiful to see her empathy mixed with Aniston’s beauty on screen, and the wonderful movie that is Bruce Almighty 💙💙
This movie was amazing. Morgan Freeman & Jim Carrey made absolute magic in this film. What a great film this was & still is to this day, even after all these years.
Dear horatiu2003, I would like to say, thank you, to you, for taking the time, energy and effort to both upload and share this video with the youtube family. Thank You!
He is definitely going to need a serious miracle to pay that off without ending in serious debt or be completely broke with that herculean bill from our healthcare system😬
Gerardo Rodriguez Amen. This movie provides lessons of faith and true goodness. I’ve watched this and my dad and I like this movie. In the beginning, Bruce holds grudges and in the ending, he becomes a better person. That’s what I’ve seen in this movie
With scenes like this to the Butt Monkey, this is one of Jim's best movies. It's hard to say how much was improvised. All the lines suit him well so high props to the writers as well.
Just for a moment this made me think back to all the amazing people I loved that have now passed, and the dumb things I worry about sometimes. Reminded me to take a step back and enjoy life. Even though it’s just a silly movie.
I want her to be happy, no matter what that means. I want her to find someone who will treat her with all the love she deserved from me. I want her to meet someone who will see her always as I do now, through Your eyes.
I love the deep relationship of Bruce and God it’s beautiful and the lovely sein in the hospital, this really was the sweetest movie, actually l really love all David and Jens movies their always a delight to watch.
my life is this story, with the difference that THIS scene gave me power, not god himself..But still, i believe he wanted to show me through this... :D
That was basically my last prayer when I was deconverting, I still wished the best for my ex partner. I still hope it's true even though I don't think a God exists.
during my dinner was zapping... i choose this movie, I thought "hey let's have a laugh with the great Jim" ...so I'm here now crying and praying to a god that I do not belive, the funny part was the movie before (back to the future), in the end my sentence was "LORD HOW MUCH I WISH TO HAVE A TIME MACHINE!". i really don't know if our prayers are listen by some one out there...Grace's and me have the same request...so r u there? make my wish become true..just one time...just this time.
Dear horatiu2003 :), I would like to say, thank you, very much, to you, for taking your time, energy and effort to both upload and share this video with the youtube family. Thank you, very much, horatiu2003 :). I hope you have a lovely day, horatiu2003 :). Kind Regards Raymond Lai :).
Tidial influence of Moon pulled closer - ... writing .. promoting agency, action, compassion... Morgan Freeman... this movie was even better than it had any right to be.
@ronaldshank7589 I guess that was one reason here on this movie why God gave Bruce his powers to show what kind of job it is that God has by juggling around answering prayer after prayer after prayer. Bruce on the other hand answered "Yes" to all prayers to make everything answered right away to stop hearing voices and receive messages.
No a it’s real prayer If you wantmoney power etc is not a prayer but material wish A prayer is not a wish that god will grant to us No A prayer is just an help to God tho guide us to be a better person to the things by ourself and to help us to have faith love and hope
