A fan at the Evil Dead Rise premiere at SXSW 2023 (South by South West film festival) said “This movie fucking sucks!” to which Bruce Campbell responds “What are you doing here? Get the fuck out of here!”
@@supoa9489 Yeah, because they're not being overtly disrespectful besides interrupting the cast and crew from speaking, at least if they do that, they mean well. This joker obviously didn't. If you don't like something, fine, no need to kick up a storm about it.
@@pab1381 You haven't seen the movie yet but you think it shouldn't have been made, hmmmmmmm. I love Evil Dead too and I think this movie looks really promising.
Damn when Bruce Campbell tells you to get the Frock out…you might be relegated to only the Troll Hole of Horror fans after that automatically…Like it Robert England or Kane Hodder called you a Douche and leave.
@@gameworlder9331 Are you completely socially inept or something? You don't disrespectfully shout how much you didn't like a movie, interrupting a discussion amongst people who are passionate about it
Or he's just an actual disappointed fan who is tired of people settling for bullshit remakes and reboots nowadays. Stop labeling every person who hates a remake or reboot "toxic." They're allowed to have different opinions to you.
@@stephenmanuel9860 never a time and place for it in this day and age , I'm always honest and upfront about what I have to say but if he didnt like it he didnt like it I dont see what's wrong with what he said , seemed to be the only person in the room who wasnt wagging there tail at the big juicy bone plus film making isnt what it used to be
He had the chance to speak to his hero if he was a fan, and now you can never watch the original movie or other evil dead films he likes without thinking the evil dead crew and ash himself doesent like him. That dood messed up big time
My only issue with the last couple of movies is that they're veering away from what makes Evil Dead movies great, comedic over the top, silly effects and acting. Seems in today's world people need hyper realistic gore and torture with more disturbingly serious undertones?
Before he went off like that he had his phone out with his camera on recording while a security woman was behind his back. I bet she caught him filming the movie and trying to film the after interviews for some trash pirate distributor like 1XBet or some shit. She probably busted him and he did this to be able to make an escape without getting pulled to the side and investigated. I BET YOU THAT.
Bruce doesn't want to run around with a chainsaw prop at his age anymore. But he could do a small cameo behind a desk or something since as I recall in the last episode of Ash Vs The Evil Dead he was brought in to fill some gubmint position that manages the handling and extermination of deadites and other hellspawn. Him behind a desk with his experience makes far more sense than him still running around as aforementioned.
@@RoyCyberPunk Yeah, but they've already said that they're thinking of the future of the IP. Bruce is in his 60's, they can't keep relying on him to prop it up forever with fan service and cameos and etc. It goes deeper than wether he's running around or setting behind a desk, sooner or later it has to stand on its own without him.
@ZippyMufo Dude Bruce already said he would return for voice acting or any non physically exerting cameos if Raimi asked. And they are already working on an Anime project with him voicing his animated version try again.
@@RoyCyberPunk Dude they already said that they're moving it past his character, which is why he did a voiceover that's not Ash. Try again, fan-tard. 😂😂😂 He's not coming back to "sit behind a desk" just to make you happy, so get over it.
What makes me laugh is that if he would of calmly waited for the Q&A part and asked why they made this movie that he thinks sucks and actually gave his structured opinion Sam and Bruce probably would of taken that and actually talked about some of the decisions that were made and why. But, no, edge lords gotta edge
Imagine what the Evil dead rise actors and director must have felt when the fan said that. That must be so discouraging for them. I mean they have put so much effort and hard work in the movie and then that jerk said "the movie sucks". Bruce really did a great job by insulting him.
If I was that guy I would have quietly gotten up, left, and never come back in. For all anyone knew I would be going to just get up to stretch or use the bathroom. I wouldn't be making such a noisy exit. Sure I'd be disappointed in the movie but I wouldn't think it would be necessary to shout "THIS MOVIE FUCKING SUCKS!" Especially to at least a few of the people I really love and respect (Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell.) I haven't seen the movie yet but I am looking forward to seeing it when it's in theaters.
Notice he has his camera open when that guard came up behind him. Who wants to bet he got caught being a pirate and only made this scene so he could have a better chance of escaping without getting pulled to the side? Somebody get on putlocker or some shit and see if there's terrible grainy Evil Dead Rise footage out there. Then we'll KNOW that's what happened. I bet this guy's recording movies for 1XBet or some shady shit like that lol
@@sawftbunzzz I admit my coming to this conclusion meant I did check those sites to confirm I was right, but after seeing it WAS up online and taken down everywhere I figured since this screening was the only way to see this movie right now, that HAD to be his footage that got removed, right? The fact that it was removed so quickly meant they were at least smart enough to be waiting for him on these sites.
True, but maybe that's our fault for getting too hyped for the movie and our expectations were way too high, or maybe it really was just a bad movie, I wish I could tell M. Night Shyamalan that Glass 2019 was a massive letdown, he coulda made the greatest trilogy ever but failed on his third movie by drowning Bruce Willis in a fucking puddle, or is that my fault for hyping that movie up to only let me down?
It's not like he said it suck without seeing it. He made a valid argument because he experienced and came up with a review. Most people don't wanna hear the bad reviews but it wasn't the time or if he did it in private without making a scene
I thought the movie was great. Still bummed that the show got kind of cut short, because it was amazing. If they continue putting out new Evil Dead entries though, I’ll absolutely continue to see them. Don’t threaten horror movie fans like me with a good time!
I haven’t seen it. If you don’t like it, fair enough, not everyone is going to like it but it’s weird to have gone to see it and then sit through the entire movie knowing you aren’t liking it and then sit through the credits still knowing you didn’t like it to wait for the cast to come out to let them know you didn’t like it in a room full of people who liked it 😂 seems like a wasted night when you could have left and did something you do enjoy. Like even if you didn’t like it, it would still be cool seeing Bruce and Sam and having them answer some questions and be apart of a discussion.
If an artist sells out it's satisfying to tell them off. Had a bad feeling about this one from the trailers already so he might be right. We've all seen great IP get ruined by sequels from lack of quality control by the original makers. I wish I could tell John Carpenter off about the last 2 Hallowen movies he produced on and would sit through it out of the respect of giving the movie and Carpenter a chance to save the movie by it's end. Critics get paid to sit through movies the don't like and rant later. This guy probably paid to see it and had a chance to say it to their face and not just rant about it later. I admire anyone who speaks their mind in a room full of sycophants. Don't cry for Raimi and Campbell, I'm sure they got their behinds kissed clean the rest of the night by that audience.
@@heirrose1606 Agreed. The 1st evil dead remake was garbage. Don't know why they wanted to make another one. I don't understand the need for remakes, especially for IPs that were near perfect to begin with. And I'm sure a lot of those fans probably thought the movie was average or even bad but they won't have the courage to say it. At least this dude had the conviction to tell them their movie was terrible.
I'm embarrassed for that little boy because no way was that a man.... I bet you he is regretting his life choices right now. Social media my dude. It will end you. Love you Bruce Campbell!!
Got to give credit to the heckler. It made me go into the movie with low expectations, so every time something cool happened it made the experience better. If everyone on the internet said that it was the greatest film of all time, I would have probably been judgmental the entire time watching it.
I'm sure this wasn't the case, but how funny would it have been if that guy was a plant? Like, amid all these conspiracies that good reviews are paid for, how funny would it be if they paid someone off to LOWER your expectations to make the movie seem better? XD
That man had a right to have the movie made exactly according to his expectations!!! It is an outrage that it wasn't to his exact taste. He should be compensated with 5 free diaper changes.
I don’t think the video shows the whole incident. What I think happened is that man may already have caused problems and the cameraman may have known this. Hence the filming included him. He was asked to leaves or caution by a staff. He displaced his anger and threw pop corns into the air. I think his pride (self esteem) and power (strength) was threatened. Moreover, probably a highly neurotic individual because of his excessive aggression which was not warranted based on the circumstances and his antisocial behaviour afterward.
I’m going to finish the film, then wait through the credits, then wait until the Q&A officially starts… then I’m going to make a scene so I can make this entire night about me for at least a few desperate seconds. This guy is the problem with everything.
